November Mounjaro Starters

Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

OP posts:

uggggghhh I was hoping that the diarrhoea would have eased over night but if anything it’s worse this morning 😭😭. I’ve honestly never had diarrhoea this bad for so long. Could barely get the kids ready this morning and the house is a wreck. Obviously can’t go on like this so praying it eases today. I lost 7 pounds in the first couple of weeks and was feeling so happy with that. I don’t want to stop 😢😢

Have you had other side effects or is that the first ?

Amazing loss @MamaorBruh well done!

Can I ask how long people are anticipating being on WLI? I know we obviously don’t have a crystal ball for the future, but do you think you’ll be on until you reach your goal weight, for life, or a limited period of time? I’m thinking as much as financially especially.

Life for me at a low dose.

no side effects at all the first two jabs. This started 2 days after my third jab.

Do you think it could be a bug? How long has it lasted?
Or possibly a big clear out, if things have been a bit slow in that respect?

WeakAsIAm · 11/11/2024 09:59

Morning all.

W2 D7
SW 13st 6lb
CW 12st 12lb

So a further 4lb off again this week, which I am shocked about imagined it would just be 1-2lb per week from this point. But I'll take it for now.

Had my first bought of D on sat, not loads just got bad cramps first. Seems to have settled and I've gone back to constipation. Not sure which I prefer more I feel so bloated when I'm bunged up. My side effects have been mainly constipation, 1 episode of D mild headache on W1D2 (probably sugar detox), occasional nausea (fixed by eating something) and heartburn very occasionally. All in all not many side effects at all and all manageable at present. We'll see what the following weeks present.
Will be interesting to see as per PP if the D comes after my 3rd shot tomorrow.
Made a batch of soup yesterday, chicken & veg in slow cooker. Popped it on before we left for remembrance parade and it smelt delicious when we got back. So of course DH and DS x2 wanted some. Fuming was planning to have this for the week as my lunches. So need to go back to the shops for more supplies.
Had some chocolate on Saturday for the first time since starting - chocolate is my nemesis I can eat and eat it. It didn't taste right just a packet of rolos ate 4 then left the last 4. This is unheard of for me. Not sure if as per PP the taste change is because of MJ or just a change is recipe from nestle. Probably will get tested again as Christmas approaches will be interesting.
I've not heard from the pharmacy (pharmacy2u) about reordering yet I expected they would've messaged by now. Not sure if I will stick with them going forward, probably tempted by the discounts offered by other suppliers and whilst I'm still obese for criteria hope it won't be too much of a hassle to change.

Quitelikeit · 11/11/2024 10:13

Just took 3rd jab - I changed time from 4pm to 10am to see if it stopped the nausea or I’m hoping it might come when I’m sleeping

You know I was just wondering the same thing. I’ve also had a nasty dry cough the past few days and the first time I had Covid it was mostly a D&V virus for me, so there is that possibility. But also it seems these are common effects of mounjaro. And along with the diarrhoea I have sulphur burps (sorry - gross I know) which apparently is caused by food not clearing from the stomach fast enough, which is obviously part of how mounjaro works. Another factor is that the day after my third injection I went to a party and drank too much champagne. I had barely eaten anything all day due to appetite suppression and the only food on offer was cheese! It was the next morning that the diarrhoea started. So that could be a factor too. I shall definitely be avoiding bubbles, alcohol and cheese moving forward- probably for the best anyway since I’m trying to lose weight 😬😆

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/11/2024 10:32

Just ordered my first dose - someone videoed me at a party on Fri night and it was bloody awful. Have exercised a lot less since Jan due to a series of injuries and illnesses, and abandoned all food restraint as well (stupid me!). I need to lose 3 stone and I don’t care that it’s running up to Christmas, I want to start now as am convinced that supply is going to be overwhelmed in January. Slightly worried about Christmas parties but will cross that bridge when I get to it. I’m so annoyed with myself!

Start weight: 12.7
Goal weight: 9.7

Ah so sorry Demjay that sounds rough, would some Immodium help? Just until the diarrhoea eases off? Hope you have a better day today.

Life for me at a low dose.

Same here (as long as financially viable). I’ve lost significant amounts of weight in the past to fight my way back into the normal bmi range and it’s always gone back on.

MJ feels like the effective tool that will finally make long term maintenance possible. If I have to stop due to the cost I’m hoping at least to stay at my target/ healthy weight long enough for my body to re- set its ‘set point’ and not panic and try to make me regain several stone to be healthy 🤦‍♀️

yarnbarn · 11/11/2024 11:08

Ideally i would like to stay on this long term but I can't think any one will prescribe it long term. It's made a massive impact on my functioning and focus (ADHD) and helped my anxiety - and I am eating a healthy balanced diet too.

LilyRose88 · 11/11/2024 11:16

New starter here. I ordered my pen from Asda and got approved very quickly. It's more expensive than some of the other online pharmacies now that I've done the comparison so I might switch to Voy for my next pen. SW 12.11 height 5ft 4 so only just in the obese category but my happy place is around 10 stone.
Had acid indigestion yesterday after my first injection but that may have been due to having a curry - probably not a good idea. I am feeling a bit nauseous today but no other symptoms yet.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 11/11/2024 11:25

yarnbarn yes same here with cognitive function, my head feels so much clearer. I have thyroid issues and the brain fog alone from this is awful, MJ is definitely helping lift the fog for me and feeling generally calmer.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 11/11/2024 11:34

Am hoping by the time it takes to get to target (several stone to go) maybe something will come in to make it possible to remain on a low maintenance dose. So hopefully prescribers might be able to offer this in the future, especially if they have been with us on our weight loss journey down, and are existing customers.

I can see them refusing if we stop MJ for a period though and try to restart again while at a healthy weight, but I’d like to think there will be some kind of low dose provision for those who want to maintain having lost what they needed/ wanted.

Oh I have had the same thing with chocolate! Ate 3 different celebrations yesterday and every one of them tasted weird.
I thought it was just me

Thank you so much ❤️. I had thought about Imodium but then I thought maybe better to just get it all out. I’ve had some peppermint tea and I’m finally starting to feel a little be better. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’ve def learned my lesson about being really careful what I consume in the first 48 hours after injection.

Rosie2024 · 11/11/2024 12:42

Hi all, haven’t been posting but lurking and cheering on silently. Just to say I am now on week 3 day 1 and 8 lb down. Jab 3 I will take after my twilight shift at work tonight before bed. Suppression really good still, little less as I get towards the next jab day. I’m 15 stone 11 today down from 16 stone 5. I’m 5 foot 6. No obvious difference yet bar noticing a work fleece felt looser this weekend.

Sorry I’m actually week 2 day 7 as I jabbed on the Monday evening 2 weeks ago and started my “journey” 🙄 on the Tuesday. Suppression kicked in straight away by the time I woke up. No side effects bar feeling the cold.

imanidiotsandwich · 11/11/2024 13:19

Lost 7 3/4lbs in total.
On my 3rd week this week.
Feeling less tired.

Welcome Rosie2024 and all new joiners to this thread 🙂👋

That’s a great loss Rosie2024, well done! I think the non scale wins are the best, it’ll be hanging off you and you’ll need a new fleece before you know it! 😊

I can’t WAIT to feel some difference in my clothes, everything is tight even my coat and hard to wear the layer I want to under it as can’t do the zip! My clothes are so drab and mostly charity shop but would really like to at least have a better choice of drab clothes (that aren’t so tight! 😂)

Thanks, I will order from Voy for my next pen, as I think I will stay on 2.5 for the second month unless it stops working so well. At the moment I am having zero food noise, which is amazing for me as I am usually obsessed with food. I have had to force myself to have a small protein bagel with peanut butter for lunch1

Demjay · 11/11/2024 15:21

Another side effect I’m getting is I am freezing cold!! Anyone else?
This is very weird for me as I’m normally the hot one who’s always opening doors and windows and wearing t shirts in the winter. Now I’m driving my DP crazy by constantly turning on the heating 😬
