Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

Please will you share what you have found helpful for nausea? Thanks

If you ask on the general weight loss injection board you might get more answers from the experienced MJ users. I'm sure I saw people talking about tablets which helped them.

Did my first one this time yesterday and although I was a little hungry this morning I didn't feel the aching I usually do. Just had 250cals of protein and feel satisfied 😊 No side effects noticed yet

I’ve been thinking about Mounjaro for a few weeks when I finally faced up to being more than 20 stone for the first time in my life.

The shame powered my willpower and I went it alone until this week when a few bad food days landed me back to square one.

I’m a typical yo-yo dieter. Have always been fat since my teens. Have lost 50lbs plus half a dozen times in the last 20 years and within a couple of years have put it all back on and more. I’m done. Something needs to change and I am willing to accept a little help. If Mounjaro is

I ordered a pen on Tuesday afternoon and it arrived yesterday. All very speedy. Jabbed myself this lunchtime, having decided there was no time like the present - and at least if I am sick this weekend, I can lie on the settee and watch crap telly.

Going to catch up on this thread too - looking forward to hearing about your experiences so far!

sweetheartyparty · 08/11/2024 16:32

I'm amazed how level my appetite is. I'm usually craving something sweet in late afternoons but I'm not bothered at all. It's amazing.

Libbylips · 08/11/2024 17:28

Hi All,
Can I join? Started two weeks ago. I’m amazed by all your weight loss so far!

Dreamqueen · 08/11/2024 17:39

week 2 day 2, I'm not feeling much suppression. The good point today is that i had to go out for lunch. Nobody except my DIL know I'm on mounjaaro. I ordered a pasta dish as it was the best choice on the menu. I knew i couldd eat a bit of it and ask for the remainder to be boxed up to bring home. That's a first for me, usually I'd eat all of it. I could have eaten it all but didn't want to sabotage my good choices so far.
Primarily I'm driven by the weekly cost and don't want to mess this up. looking forward to week 5 and hopefully finding more supression on a bigger dose.

melfree · 08/11/2024 19:25

First injection done I think! Didn't feel a thing so wondering if I did it right 😅

namechangedyetagain · 08/11/2024 19:56

Just had my evening Greek yoghurt with seeds. I have been so good this week on my first week. Haven't had any chocolate / biscuits / sweets / cake / crisps. At all. Been eating usual dinner but smaller portions and an egg on seeded toast for lunch

If I haven't lost anything at my first weigh in tomorrow I'm going to be so depressed.

Anyone have any top tips for work lunches? I've been from home this week so able to cook. What can I take into work to eat? No one knows I'm on MJ apart from my dh, dm and my best friend.

ShaunaSadeki · 08/11/2024 20:24

W1 D3 and suppression has finally landed! Felt hungry again this morning which is out of character but pretty full after not eating much. Hungry again at lunchtime. Then by dinner I could have really taken or left it, only had a small portion, really enjoyed it but was only eating it because it was there.

no desire to guzzle wine either!

Virgo1958 · 08/11/2024 20:29

Does Mounjaro come delivered in ice like Saxenda? I work and can't be in for a delivery. Thanks in advance.

I make a massive vat of veg and lentil soup to have throughout the week, but usually undo the healthiness by succumbing to toast and butter with it. Ive managed all week without the toast despite not feeling suppression until tonight and it is filling.

Pumpkinforever · 08/11/2024 20:33

@namechangedyetagain I have Greek yoghurt (using fage brand )with pumpkin and sunflower seeds everyday at the moment. I find it filling.

Maybe salad for lunch. A pile of green leaves to pick through and some tasty tomatoes & olives. OMG that’s something I wouldn’t normally say/type/think!

Salad leaves I can do. Not the tomatoes or olives though! The veg and lentil soup sounds good though. At the minute I still get hungry so I do need to eat.

First Friday for a long while without alcohol though 🎉

Novjaro · 08/11/2024 21:17

To those of you +/- 20st, I hear you and join you! First jab on Sunday and had lots of nausea and burps for a few days - I’ll take that over worse side effects though. Not sure if I’ve had suppression or not yet, it might’ve been the nausea, but I’m up for it whatever. We can do this!

Bigsigh24 · 08/11/2024 21:24

Notadream · 08/11/2024 23:07

Jab no2 for me today was very happy with a 2.5lb loss in my first week, historically i'm a sloooooow loser so i will take that. The start of my period was not welcome at lunchtime. I'm peri and not had one for nearly two months, and i have adenomyosis which makes me feel terrible. Later I got the news from my estate agent that my house sale had fallen through which has made me feel sick to my stomach. All of the above and potential side effects this week are not something I'm relishing if I'm honest. Only positive since this afternoon is that usually I'd have inhaled all the food I could get my hands on emotionally by now and sunk a bottle but I've had no interest in reaching for food or alcohol to numb.

Mrsredlipstick · 09/11/2024 03:54

W1D6,
Huge D and V yesterday. However I had my counselling session with VOY after I stopped. They wanted me to speak to the top guy because I'm a rare one due to my other meds. Very thorough.
I'm up early due to falling asleep most nights at 9pm.
I will see what happens on Monday.
No chance of finishing any food at dinner or wanting alcohol. As an ex drinker I have never stopped the cravings but, boof, they've gone.

namechangedyetagain · 09/11/2024 07:47

Well weigh in this morning ahead of jab 2. Lost 2lbs. And the will to live. I've cut out all sweet things and alcohol and that's all there is to show for it. I know I'm over 50 and menopausal but really! Was rather hoping for more 😔

Mrsredlipstick · 09/11/2024 07:53

@namechangedyetagain thats an excellent result.
If I said to you I can take two stone off you in three months, cost £500 would you be writing me a cheque?

I've lost 1lb a week for just under two years. None of it has gone back on and I have no loose skin. I'm 58.

Cakeybake · 09/11/2024 07:55

Lovely to hear how everyone is getting on. It's great to see the scales move (in the right direction).
I'm breaking my goal down into smaller ones, so that I can have lots of smaller wins, rather than just looking at the total amount I need to lose or my goal weight. So e.g. celebrate each 7lbs, getting into the next stone bracket, clothes being looser, fitting into something that I couldn't before, rings fitting, people complimenting me on losing weight etc.

NSV yesterday was the dress I was wearing ... A couple of months ago, it was tight as I zipped it up. Yesterday I took it off without undoing the zip!

It does seem disappointing but slow and steady is always going to be better than fast. 2lb is a healthy amount to lose. Well done you.

namechangedyetagain · 09/11/2024 08:04

Thank you. I have so much to lose though. Actually I haven't set myself a goal I just know that I'd like to be able to go into a shop without looking for the size 20s that they rarely have and to feel nicer about myself. Going tu find next week much harder being back in work with sweet treats about and the stress eating.

jaromoun · 09/11/2024 08:31

so i completed my first friday night successfully.
for breakfast i had a protein yogurt with chopped apple but not until about 10.30 as i didn't feel like it. lunch was miso with spring onions and marinated tofu which is becoming a bit of a fave.
tea i had a small homemade chicken gyro with lots of salad. i'd bought my usual wine and drank two small glasses very slowly over the evening and just didn't really fancy more which is unusual. it actually just didn't taste that great. and it's a brand i usually enjoy.
i feel slightly peckish now but i'll make a pot of tea and potter drinking that and get breakfast in a while.
i actually feel 'lighter' and i think my overall loss this week will be about 2.5kg with fluctuations i've seen (only weighing daily out of curiosity rather than anything else and won't keep that up)
