Nowthereistwo · 23/10/2024 17:28

Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

Thanks for the Will powders tip above, will look into that!

First MJ jab done this evening! Was v easy and pain free :)

The pen had been in the fridge for a day and I was also thinking of reasons to delay with trips and family events going on but in the end I just thought there’s always going to be something going on so just go for it! Have also ordered some bits from Amazon to help with potential side effects like Gaviscon and a digestive aid supplement, also got some protein powder that rated well to just have in stock try and keep the protein levels up if I don’t feel like eating much.

Am so glad for this thread. All the very best to all you Mounjaro’ers or Wegovy’ers and look forward to seeing how we all get on!

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHGGGGGHHHHHHHH

I just did it. Now I don't know what to do with myself 🤣

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 07/11/2024 07:22

W1 D5 I'm so hungry. I thought I was getting some suppression but just been snacking through the night in work 🙄😪

Will need to go home and have a good breakfast. What if mounjaro doesn't work ?

AllstarFacilier · 07/11/2024 07:32

@Hundredthmillionthdiet its early days, I keep reading that the first week it to get used to the drug and you get more effect with the higher doses.

I need to get some collagen, but I’m vegetarian and so doubt the vegan powders are as successful. I’m veggie more for the fact that the thought of eating meat makes me feel ill, so I wouldn’t be able to sip on a collagen drink. I’d probably be alright with a pill though, if there are any of those that are good?

You are on the loading dose - it's just to get your body used to it and to check for any adverse effects. Also the first week I found that the effects wore off towards the end of the week as the levels of the medication was low. Each week it will build up so next week will hopefully be better. Try to calorie count but give yourself a decent allowance so that you don't go hungry. As the weeks go on you can reduce your allowance as long as it's still within the healthy range.

LauraB74 · 07/11/2024 07:38

One week down and lost 3lb with another 3 lost the week before I started. Reckon 6lb in 2 weeks is ok. I've tried to stick to around 1200 calories a day, upped my exercise to at least 10k steps a day, given up coke zero and started drinking 2ltr of water a day.

Mrsredlipstick · 07/11/2024 07:40

Morning all. Wegovy W1 D4.

Small burps, no constipation which I was dreading. Dull headache again.
I had my dinner on a tea plate last night. A struggle to eat it. Ditto second half of a sandwich. No booze noise.

rocketgal · 07/11/2024 07:51

Headache has gone but woke up with terrible diarrhoea in the night and been several times since. I've read this is quite common and should pass 🙏🏻 am eating less so just hope it's worth it!

I’ve got a Will Powders code for 25% off if you want. I think I must get discount too but I’m not really sure. I’m not contracted to them at all, I just really like the collagen. I’ve been using the electrolyte sachets too but I’m not ore if they make any real difference and I’m sure you could find the same cheaper. It tastes nice though.

I did my third jab yesterday. I was definitely starting to feel hungrier and think about food more during the day than I have been (I jab at night when the DC are in bed).

I weighed myself this morning and have stayed the same since Saturday when I didn’t eat for 24hrs after being sick (I think it was a bug not MJ). I’m bit disappointed but I know that my weight does this sometimes and that I’ll have a drop if I just keep on, I’ve definitely ate enough to have a calorie deficit this week but I haven’t eaten very cleanly (it was DC3’s birthday and I had some cake and chicken dippers 😬).

Jabtastic · 07/11/2024 08:34

Constipation is driving me mad. I just feel sluggish. I know it's because I'm eating less so I should feel happy but I just feel weird and no point weighing either! 😌 I'm going to eat better today so fruit smoothie and lentils galore!

unicornsarereal72 · 07/11/2024 08:38

@Jabtastic me too. I can't seem to get things moving without some senna. I'm hoping my body will adjust to the change quickly

Jabtastic · 07/11/2024 08:41

@unicornsarereal72 I just can't bear the feeling of being constipated I feel all agitated or something. I really don't want to use laxatives as I have autoimmune disease that can affect the bowel and I don't want my bowel to get 'lazy'. I may have to though.

unicornsarereal72 · 07/11/2024 08:43

@Jabtastic I had a look back at some old posts and they suggested eating 2 kiwis a day. Skin and all. Also magnesium supplement. I don't know if either of those would work for you. It will be worth it when we are into a healthy weight though.

Babyboomer60 · 07/11/2024 08:48

Has anyone here been prescribed it by their GP or have you bought online? I’m very keen to try it.

🤣🤣 lol this was me yesterday too!

TorturedParentsDepartment · 07/11/2024 08:55

Done my second jab just now (tummy hurts so much more than thighs)... shall see what this brings. I found the effects really wore off toward the middle of week 1 which sucked - so it was me and my willpower alone.

Day 2 for me and no affects either positive or negative yet. In fact I went to bed hungry and had to have breakfast this morning which I don’t normally do. I know this is fine, but deep down I had convinced myself I would immediately lose my appetite and the food noise and be a slip of a thing by Christmas

Thank you so much for the code CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair I just used it and got a good discount on my first order with WillPowders!
I went a bit mad and got the whizzy frother thing too! 😂 hoping it will help break up the powders nicely to make it easier to mix into water/ smoothies or a coffee. I hope it returns a discount back to you 💖

Sorry you had a bad tum and hope it is more settled now. I suspect it was a bug as there’s so much going around right now, my 2 DC have been constantly down with one thing and another since autumn term started. I decided to inject at night too when mine are in bed.

Quitelikeit · 07/11/2024 09:57

W2 day 3

waves of nausea

has this happened to anyone else it’s really ramping up todat

will it go away?

Thanks, I definitely think it was a bug as DH had a bit of an iffy tummy too. He wasn’t a bad as me but possibly Mounjaro made it worse than it would have been.

I’ve had a a few times, especially if I’ve had something processed. I’ve found a cup of lemon and ginger tea really helps.

I’ve heard this can happen with the starter dose, but the effects should build over time and especially when we get up to the therapeutic dose/s. I think the starter dose 2.5 is mostly meant to just get our bodies used to the medicine and (hopefully) minimise side effects. Keep going we’re early days yet :)

Jabtastic · 07/11/2024 10:01

I can't eat beef / dairy so those collagens aren't suitable for me unfortunately. Has anyone found a good vegan one?
