Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

Ultimate test here tonight, I started making the icing and fillings for my daughters birthday cake.

White chocolate ganache and Italian meringue buttercream. I tasted the teeniest speck of the buttercream to check it - normally I would need to taste test several spoonfuls. Didn't even touch the ganache or nibble the chocolate!

Hi all

I'm eating significantly smaller portions and tracking food around the 1200 calorie mark sometimes less but on the meal thread it seems like people are hardly eating at all? Am I doing this wrong?! Scales not shifting yet but only day 5 with 4 stone to lose. Average day crumpet with teaspoon peanut butter for breakfast (yes I could eat yoghurt but....) usually eat that around 10:30 then have avocado, tomatoes and some form of protein for lunch, then home cooked v small portion of dinner tonight was 1/2 chicken breast, spoon full of mash lots of veg and a bit of gravy. Then I had a small bowl of frazzles and 2x wine watching bake off.

whereareyousleep · 05/11/2024 21:47

I took my first jab yesterday. I had been on wegovy for a year and had lost 4.5 stones I decided to take a break around 8 weeks ago as I hadn't lost weight for weeks and had become quite anaemic. Unfortunately I put on around 9lb during that break even though I tried very hard not to so I have another 2.5-3 stones to lose and I'm hoping Mounjaro will help me with that. I already feel a 1000 times better than I did a year ago but I really just want to get down to a healthy weight. I hope the change in medication is the kick that I need! Good luck to everyone else

sweetheartyparty · 05/11/2024 22:07

Hi, may I join?
I started last night and had a pretty good day until about an hour ago. I've got the horrible bout of trapped wind. I'm drinking peppermint tea and it helping a little.
On a good note, I definitely feel much fuller.

@Caffeinequeen91 I looked at Boots, Asda, Voy and MedExpress. I chose MedExpress because the cost was ok and after reading their info, felt they were the one for me. I then got a discount code from a mumsnet poster.
Once I received my pen I sat and watched a few videos on Youtube. The one I really liked was by Juniper UK. Replayed it a couple of times and then took the plunge. To say I was nervous was an understatement but just did it anyway. The whole process was so easy. Did my 3rd injection today, absolutely no problem.

Good luck.

Have you re-ordered through medexpress? I've seen something about price matching but can't work it out for sure.

I'd like to stay with them for ease but the offers from other providers are tempting.

Hi all! I injected on Sunday, not really noticed many side effects. My stomach felt a little bloated on Sunday, and a little constipated. But all fine now. Definitely eating far less than normal. No breakfast, 1/2 a carton of soup for lunch, with fruit. Dinner was Chinese tonight, but ate much less than normal. And small glass if wine. 1st since Saturday evening, normally drink a couple of large glasses each night.
Sw 16.2 stone, this morning 15.11. This kind of fluctuation is normal for me, so will be interesting to see how it goes for the rest of the week.
Good luck all!

Mrsredlipstick · 06/11/2024 07:51

Morning all.
Day three for me (I'm the rare Wegovy user).
Poorly yesterday with a spliting headache. I think it was my fibro though.
However I couldn't finish my porridge or mac and cheese. Unheard of. The burps have gone.

I really want to get started but I feel overwhelmed by how to get started. Is there a beginner’s guide to ordering?

Take a look at the Continuing Mounjaro threads. The first comment has links to a lot of help.

Morning all, can I hop on? Just been approved by Oushk pharmacy for Mounjaro, and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and I can get cracking. I originally started at the beginning of September, but week 2&3 I suffered really bad sides, and as I has a big holiday upcoming, I decided to stop and restart once the holiday was over. I was super suppressed on 2.5mg, which was in theory great, but also I assume why the sides were also so bad, so this time I’m counting clicks and starting very conservatively on 1.25mg. It’ll be interesting to see if this works.

Jabtastic · 06/11/2024 09:58

Week 3 and jab day! I've had no real suppression this week. I had lost more weight at the weekend but I've actually put on weight this week probably because of constipation because I'm not eating enough 'bulk'. Today my goal is lots of water and fruit to clear things out!

Mrsredlipstick · 06/11/2024 10:02

@Jabtastic rhubarb is good for movement. I buy it in tins from marks.

Pumpkinforever · 06/11/2024 10:35

First injection Monday so only W1D3 (picking up the lingo). Definitely eating less but that could be down to the fact that I have spent so much money that I don’t want to fail or I am scared I will make myself ill if I eat too much.

PinkArt · 06/11/2024 11:00

Planning to join you all very soon - just got the dispatch email from Medexpress.
Someone posted on one of these threads about finally thinking about food like a thin person would and that - and a This Morning segment on the jabs that showed how small the needles are - was the last push I needed.

Dreamqueen · 06/11/2024 11:20

Day 7 of week 1 for me. I'm not going to weigh in until tomorrow. So far no side effects apart from a bit of acid reflux type pain. I'm taking magnesium tablets to prevent any constipation. Even though I've eaten less food this week, I find I'm thinking about food all the time. No real feelings of supression but as previous posters have said the weekly cost is keeping me on the straight and narrow.

McZeba · 06/11/2024 12:06

Hey all x Just had my first pen approved, so looking forward to joining you all soon xx

Thank you. If I chose one that’s cheaper for the first dose is it easy to change to another supplier later?

Snozzlemaid · 06/11/2024 12:31

Yes. You will need to complete a consultation form each time you order.

If you stick with the same provider you won't have to upload photos and ID each time but if you change you will have to send photos and proof of your last prescription. I have sent a photo of my box showing the prescription label for this.

I've ordered from 3 different pharmacies to get the best price and it doesn't take too long.

BrownJenkins · 06/11/2024 13:30

@Kialla Yes, ordered through MedExpress again. I'm happy with their service, so far. I can't be bothered to search and change suppliers. The 2.5mg and 5mg are priced at £149.99 plus p&p. Couldn't find a discount code or coupon for the 2nd pen. I find breaking it down to a daily cost works for me. It's about £5 a day. I used to spend more than that on a coffee and cake or chocolates.

Slimpleton · 06/11/2024 13:43

Had my first injection around 5pm yesterday, no side effects, woke up and was hungry so had some cereal (weird as I would normally not eat until I get to work and usually have protein porridge or protein yoghurt) then have been working in a different office so out of routine and had a banana and a slice of toast at 11 then lunch of 2 scrambled eggs and a bread roll ....

So probably more cals than I would normally eat, I wouldn't normally have that much bread!

Feeling a bit deflated as not a great first day, it's seemingly having the opposite effect 😅

Slimpleton · 06/11/2024 13:50

About 5 mins since posting and I now feel really full, more full than I should for the lunch I ate ... So maybe something is happening!

ShaunaSadeki · 06/11/2024 15:00

Can I join please? I did my first injection at lunchtime and now on hunger/side effect watch 😂

MamaorBruh · 06/11/2024 15:16

Day 3 - slept fine last night which was good but still have a headache, seems to be lasting most of today.
Not eating much at all - a banana, 2 heck sausages so far today and 3 cups of tea so need to try and get something else in me.
Not sure how to shift this headache though

jaromoun · 06/11/2024 15:25

first injection monday night.
yesterday hardly felt hungry and when i did it was mild.
today i feel much more hungry so i have had to really be mindful of not falling into the snacking trap. i've tried having a glass of water or a cup of tea instead as i've heard it suppresses thirst triggers as well.
I have been very conscious of side effects but so far none.
SW 89 kg last week
CW 86.2 kg but to be fair I was careful not to pig out over the weekend as was worried about feeling ghastly.
GW 69kg
i've said info can be shared with my GP as i've not told another soul i'm using this and feel it should be on my records just in case of significant side effects.
using Voy at the minute but financially will need to move on but i'm a bit worried about ending up with a gap between prescriptions so may wait until after christmas to change supplier.
