Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

Hello all,

I’m jumping on the thread too. I’m on week 2 Day 2. 4lbs down so far but I’m happy with that, as we had visitors and days out last week for half term and I wasn’t actively restricting what I ate.

I’m definitely eating less but constantly assessing if I’m hungry. I’ve realised I was eating even when I wasn’t hungry before, so I need to retrain my brain.

Im looking forward to increasing to the next dose and hopefully getting more appetite suppression. I found the second half of the week felt like I was back to normal.

Is anyone feeling colder than normal? Not sure if it’s a coincidence, but I’m freezing!!

Hey! Congrats on your loss. I’m feeling colder too - I’m quite a warm person generally so definitely noticed a difference. I’m drinking loads more water as well. I’m a notoriously poor drinker of water (Diet Coke addict) so this can only be a good thing!

Selkie9 · 05/11/2024 10:12

@Menton1 I am also a lot colder since starting! Definitely need a hot water bottle in bed and I'm wearing jumpers around the house all day when I previously wasn't.

Kialla · 05/11/2024 10:17

Checking in on W2D5.

I weighed myself 3 days before I started and I've lost 5.5kg since then. 12lbs.

There are some days where the scales have stubbornly not moved (thanks constipation...) and normally all my motivation disappears. But it hasn't bothered me at all and I've just carried on.

All feels quite normal now and grateful to have no real side effects. Just eating 3 small meals a day, focusing on protein. Some days I don't have time for lunch and don't notice. No inclination to snack, which is good as I think we'll have halloween sweets in the house until next halloween!

We went to nandos on Sunday and I ate about half of what I'd normally have (chicken and rice) and was uncomfortably full. Lesson learned there!

Medex have emailed me about my next prescription and I'm planning to move up to 5mg. I just don't want to pay full price so I guess I need to look for the next supplier!

@HammerbarnSausage hello.
I am an ex drinker.
I'm over on the alcohol support thread. Been there three years.

I post there under a different name to avoid abuse. None on that thread. It's been a life line for me.

@Mrsredlipstick Can you please clarify if it's the Alcohol Support Thread or the Mounjaro that's been a lifeline for you please

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 05/11/2024 12:04

For anyone looking to up their protei , I've been taking this vimto clear collagen powder. Beeb taking it for a while, before i started taking mounjaro and really like it.

It has 18g protein and tastes like vimto juice, really easy to drink as I don't like protein shakes.

Here's the link if anyone wants. You can usually find money off codes as well.for myprotein if you give it a Google x

Injected on Friday, I've definitely got a bit of suppression going on (actual or placebo doesn't really matter I suppose). I'm on my own today and I would have already had lunch and a few snacks but I haven't had anything other than my breakfast at 8ish. Will probably make myself some eggs soon but there's pancakes and mini cheddars in and I'm not tempted, which is a very alien feeling!

I already take a multivitamin but I've seen people saying its a good idea to take biotin/collagen however I always break out if I do. Does anyone have the same issue and found a particular brand that works for them? It's not just normal spots I get but really deep large ones so I obviously am sensitive to biotin.

I can’t say I’ve had that issue but I’ve been using the Will Powders collagen just to try and stave off loose skin as I hopefully lose weight but I’ve already noticed a big change in my facial skin, which surprised me.

BrownJenkins · 05/11/2024 14:33

I've just injected. A day early but want to see if it stops the cravings this evening.
Apparently it's ok to inject early as long as it's not more than 72 hours early, iyswim.
Will be getting on the scales tomorrow. Hopefully will have lost some more weight.
My MedExpress parcel arrived this morning and is in the fridge.

Mrsredlipstick · 05/11/2024 14:39

@ThereIsAlwaysWine alcohol support. However this is a very supportive thread.

Goldleafcat · 05/11/2024 15:27

I’ve just taken my second dose (2.5ml). Shortly after I’ve noticed a funny taste in my mouth, which I didn’t notice last week. Wonder if I did it properly last week!! I was so happy to have minimal symptoms… wonder whether that’ll be the case this week 🙈

Quitelikeit · 05/11/2024 15:35

Yes I’ve been freezing this week. Not sure if it is because the temps have dropped tho?

took second jab last night - then bam haven’t ate a thing today - feel cold, and tired.

my first week I did still eat but not as much as I did overeat one night and woke with a sore tummy in the night

i have never been a snacker - i have always been a very slow loser when I have been on diets in the past. Frustratingly slow.

I dared to weigh myself today and the scales said I was 7lb heavier than I was when I last weighed about 3 weeks ago. Not sure what that’s all about and think they must be broken!

Sketcho · 05/11/2024 15:40

I'm W2 D6, about 8lbs down. How many calories people aiming for per day, if you're counting? I'm not, but I tend to keep a bit of mental tally, just out of habit.

Third jab tomorrow!

StaySpicy · 05/11/2024 15:51

W1D3. Not much suppression, if any. On Wegovy I did have a noticeable drop in cravings, food noise and hunger almost immediately. Not sure if I'm going to get anything from Mounjaro.

Typical - only 1lb a week loss on Wegovy and now Mounjaro doesn't seem to be doing anything 😔

Summerbod25 · 05/11/2024 16:34

👋🏼 just started, today. Hoping this kick starts the final weight loss journey for me! Also doing couch25k, and walking over 10k steps a day.

Meemawtobe · 05/11/2024 16:37

Hi All,
I am on W4 D2. This really has been a life changer. I have struggled with my weight most of my adult life. I suddenly feel normal, I'm not constantly thinking about food, I'm not constantly thinking I'm hungry, I'm not over eating, binge eating or secret eating. I feel that the injection worked almost immediately. I was fortunate that I have a wonderful GP who prescribed me the 2.5 pen. Unfortunately she is not able to prescribe any further, due to restrictions, although she is so frustrated by this. I have now ordered and paid for the next dose up and it's in the fridge waiting for Monday. In 3 weeks I have lost a whopping 1 stone. I am amazed, although it has really slowed down and by the end of last week I was starting to feel some cravings again. I think this is showing I am probably ready for the next dose up. It's lovely to connect with others that are on the same journey. Only another 6-7 stone to go....🤗

LimeLace · 05/11/2024 16:55

Hi, please can I join? I ordered last Wednesday (31st Oct) and the MJ pen was delivered today. I’m going to do my first jab on Friday evening because I’m not working over the weekend (I want to make sure of the side effects first before going to work on Monday)

Well done to those of you on the journey so far. I have read a lot of your posts over the past few weeks and decided to take the plunge.

I am 168cm (5ft 6ins) tall and currently 19 stone 7 pounds, but I would love to get down to 12 stone 7 pounds. Fingers crossed! Good luck to those starting their weight loss journey this month 🙂

Slimpleton · 05/11/2024 17:18

Jumping aboard just done my first ever injection all good so far.....

CW: 198lb
First GW: 178lb
Second GW 158lb
Final GW: 147lb

Aiming for 1200-1400 cals per day
8000-10000 steps per day
Weight training 3x per week
Supplements: Biotin, Collagen, Multivit, Vit D, Cod Liver Oil, Creatine

Going to build the habits steadily, already going to gym, so first week focusing on food and how I feel with MJ then once that's steady will work on improving steps

Will see how well I stomach the supplements! Collagen is so gross, I have powder - any hints on how to get it down?

rocketgal · 05/11/2024 17:18

Took the plunge and injected this morning. Didn't feel it at all 🙌🏻 Just a bit stingy all day where I did it but I'm probably extra sensitive as it's time of the month. Haven't felt hungry today but could be placebo, not too sure yet. Feel glad I've finally taken the plunge. I'm tracking calories just so I know where I'm at

It’s interesting that you said that you’re constantly assessing if you’re hungry, as I was driving home today I was thinking about food and how little I’ve eaten. I’m not hungry and not wanting anything to eat, but I keep thinking about what I have eaten and whether I still feel full.

MamaorBruh · 05/11/2024 18:57

Day 2 today, some suppression but just had beans and 1 slice of toast for tea. Had small lunch and fruit at breakfast.
I've had a headache on and off since yesterday morning when I injected and last night I finally fell asleep around 1.30am! Super tired so hope tonight is better.
Need to try drink more water.

namechangedyetagain · 05/11/2024 19:17

Day 3 here for me. No suppression as yet though I have cut out any type of treat snack eg a biscuit with a cup of tea. Had another egg on toast followed by a banana for lunch and chicken and veg stir fry for dinner. Prob have a bit of Greek yoghurt with seeds later. I'm thinking more about food than I did before ironically. Had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning and have put on a lb since Saturday. Official weigh in will be Saturday morning before the second jab.

I have not managed to lose anything since hitting peri / menopause so I did say I'd give it a go for a month just to see. Fully expecting to stay fat forever.

Bisognodelsole · 05/11/2024 20:39

First week done. Down 6lbs and no side effects so very pleased. Not sure if this new found willpower is due to the meds or whether it’s placebo effect/feeling that this is my last shot at finally getting a grip of my diet. Either way, feeling positive.
Enjoying following everyone else’s progress

SunnyPeer · 05/11/2024 20:54

My pen is waiting in the fridge and after weeks of looking forward to this, I can’t bring myself to use it. I’ve been building this as my last shot at losing weight and I’m worried I’m not in the right mind frame and I’ll jeopardise it all. Think I’m overthinking it but I’m worried that it won’t work if I don’t have my weight loss head on.

I have at least 4 stone to lose and am a huge comfort eater - it’s been a stressful few years. I’ve read ever post in here and am in awe of you all.

Caffeinequeen91 · 05/11/2024 21:32

I really want to get started but I feel overwhelmed by how to get started. Is there a beginner’s guide to ordering?

I can see why you might be worried about that. I've always needed to be in the right headspace to lose weight too (not stressed, not too busy, no going out plans etc) so I totally get it.

In what way do you think you might jeopardise it if you aren't in the right mind frame?

I'm an emotional binge eater/comfort eater/secret eater and can honestly say that has all stopped because I'm just not thinking about food. Doesn't feel like being on a diet because I don't feel deprived. In a very odd way, I don't feel like I'm even doing anything to lose the weight so my mindset isn't really important.

All that said, you have the pen so whenever you feel you might be in the right mindset, you're ready to go!
