Starting soon on Mounjaro, some very good losses reported on here, but what is the start weight? If it’s reported 2 stones in 6 months lost, are start weights above 15 stones for example ? Obvs don’t share if too personal x

I'm losing an average of 2.9lb a week 12 weeks in. Started on 18st7.5lb.

Im aiming at 1-2lb a week. Currently it's twice that, but I'm eating all my calories.

Fromthesidelines · 22/10/2024 22:54

I think it is hugely variable and not as simple as the higher the start weight, the greater the loss. I have been on mounjaro since mid may. Starting weight 14.12, current weight 12.3.

OhHaiOwlInYourTowel · 23/10/2024 00:01

I started in April weighing just under 15 stone and I'm now 9 stone 6

Difford · 23/10/2024 06:29

I started in September at 13 stone 11lb and have lost a stone in 4 weeks. Am expecting it to slow down a bit now though!

Wow, that is incredible - well done.

doodleschnoodle · 23/10/2024 06:40

I started on the 4th of September at 203lbs, which is 14 stone and 7lbs.

As of yesterday I was 177lbs, which is 12 stone and 9lbs.

bebopalula111 · 23/10/2024 06:48

Are you able to share where buying from?

RecycleMePlease · 23/10/2024 06:58

Mine varies according to the time of the month (even on Mounjaro, period week I don't seem to lose anything) - so after 10 weeks I'm down 7 kilos - outside of period I'm losing a pretty steady 1kg/week. I started at 102kilos/16 stone

Which makes sense - brute force, not really accurate maths suggests that that's a deficit of 770cals/day, which is probably about right (I'm very short, so I really don't take many calories to run - I know from previous experience that I need to be below 1000 calories to lose, I maintain at around 12-1500 and gain at 1800 or more)

Mrsmounjaro · 23/10/2024 07:08

I started 23rd May weighing 14st 10 now 11st 12. Slower than some but averaging just under 2lb a week which I'm happy with

About 2 lbs a week on average.

Started MJ 5th Sep at 208lb and currently 195lb, so in 7 weeks I've lost 13lb.

I was dieting for a couple of weeks before starting MJ too so was already eating low carb and drinking lots of water so didn't have a big whoosh in the first week.

RamonasHouse · 23/10/2024 08:03

I seem to be an exception to the rule.
I started Mounjaro in May.
5 months in and all I've lost is 2 stone.
It's frustrating and depressing in equal measure.
I'm never going over 1,200cals a day as I'm tracking my intake on nutracheck.
It's unbearably slow weight loss by anyone's standards.
But the difference is that MJ has turned down my hunger which is helping me remain consistent on my calorie intake. Difference being that if I'd been dieting since May without MJ then I'd have felt ravenous the whole time and wouldn't have been able to be consistent in my calorie control.
So MJ has helped me lose 2 stone in 5 months by reducing my hunger. But my God it's slooooooooooow.

itwasnevermine · 23/10/2024 08:06

10 weeks in and I'm losing an average of 3-3.5 pounds a week.

But it seems to be very concentrated. I'll lose more in the first two weeks of my cycle, then stall and then lose again. I lost a huge amount in my first week, but then again it was mostly water weight.

cherrysonata · 23/10/2024 08:07

@RamonasHouse That works out to be roughly 1lb a week consistently which I think is fantastic!

LoveSandbanks · 23/10/2024 08:13

I started in May at 13 st 5lb and am now 10st 9lb. The first 20lb flew off then there was a stall, then a bit more. I’m now losing 5-6lb a month which is safe and steady. My husband was so impressed by my weight loss that he takes it now!

VioletCrawleyForever · 23/10/2024 08:17

SW 16 st 3 lbs
CW 14 st 7 lbs

Over 11 weeks for me

CameronStrike · 23/10/2024 08:21

I'm a slow loser, 1lb a week for the first 6 months dropping to 2lbs a month. But it's consistent and easy and I can afford it. Just bear in mind you may not lose lots quickly. Some people aim to lose lots in a fixed period then stop due to finances which is fair enough but it might not work out that way.

That's 1.5 lbs a week average. That's not 'unbearably slow' and it shouldn't be frustrating. More than 2lbs a week is considered crash diet levels of loss and is more likely to lead to metabolic problems.

Adelstrop · 23/10/2024 08:24

19 lbs in 7 weeks. A big loss in the first week, then 1-2 lbs a week after that. My aim is to lose something every week. Maybe not realistic, but it's what I'm trying for.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 23/10/2024 08:28

I started with a very high start weight, over 20 stone. I'm not having dramatic weight loss like the figures I see others reporting, but have lost 16lbs in 6 weeks.

I'll confess to feeling a bit jealous of all the massive weight losses because I'm impatient and have such a lot of weight to lose. But this feels sustainable for me and I was a bit worried about the risk of gallstones with fast weight loss so at least I can forget about that now!

What is great about mounjaro is that this all feels very do able and like I can continue it for the years that it will take to get to a healthy weight. I wasn't a slim child and have been getting fatter and fatter my whole adult life so I have a lot to reverse and mounjaro is helping me to make lifestyle changes that I might be able to continue without it. We will see.

LionAndEmperor13 · 23/10/2024 09:42

I've lost 40lbs since end of June. Had a couple of weeks of plateau which I'[m still on, so I haven't lost anything in the last couple of weeks. Moving up to 7.5mg (from 5mg) next week.

Start weight 13 st 6
Current weight 10 st 8

Darkfloods · 23/10/2024 09:50

Started 14th September 20st 8lbs, current weight is 19st 1lb. I have lost a fair amount but have a long way to go!

You've lost over a stone in just 6 weeks! I think that is incredible.

Swissrollover · 23/10/2024 10:01

I started at 16st 6lb in July. 13st 2lb now, so just over 3 stone lost. The first 2 stone seemed really fast in 2 months, but the rate has steadied now to 1 - 2lb per week.

Darlinghag · 23/10/2024 11:28

I’m losing around half a stone a month. Is it sometimes frustrating? yes! I gained last week for no reason and lost my head over it 😂

but i know long term, when i think rationally, its not a bad thing. Rapid weightloss comes with its own risks and I am desperate to minimise lose skin!
