Thanks @AdeloreSmore @NippyCrab

Well done on the loss @weaseleyes (I would definitely have recorded the lower number 😂)

Hope you start losing a little faster soon @Blondeshavemorefun 🤞

I had a wonderful NSV this afternoon I had to go back to my old hometown where I lived with my exH and I bumped into an old friend who I haven't seen for months (way before I started MJ) and she started by saying WOW you look amazing, you have lost so much weight. She is very slim and very conscious to never mention weight, a lovely person so for her to just come out with it there must be quite a difference! Also I needed to find a coat for tomorrow so I ventured into the attic for skinner coats and two of my size 12s fit! Are the much more snug than when I first brought them, yes! But they comfortably did up!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2024 17:19

@owlyboo a double NSV then. People noticing and smaller clothes size

So sparkly dress looks nice

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 17:22

Oh and sorry one more little NSV which I'm super proud of, as you all know I've been walking/hiking my little socks off and I'm embarrassed to say I was in the lowest Vo2 score on garmin making me have the score of a 60 year old or something (I'm 36!!) and my score has gradually been going up week on week and today I'm in the top 50% and my score is now lower than my age (all be if slightly!) at 34.

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 17:23

@Blondeshavemorefun it does yes! I couldn't quite believe it fit my body on the hanger I had to come out of the dressing room and look in another mirror to make sure! I must have looked crazy!!

weaseleyes · 01/11/2024 17:45

They're some fabulous NSVs, @owlyboo!

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 17:55

Thanks @weaseleyes 😊😊 now if I could only shift 2lbs on my weight in tomorrow and I'll hit my three stone total mark!! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!!!!

NippyCrab · 01/11/2024 19:04

Aww @owlyboo that's brilliant! Especially the old friend 🧡 you're nearly there, the 3 stone is right there. Xx

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 19:09

Thanks @NippyCrab it was lovely to both see her and obviously what she said!

🤞🤞 to the 2lbs!!

poppym12 · 01/11/2024 19:22

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2024 15:42

Still worth weighing @poppym12

You may be surprised and even if gain (hopefully not) then next week it will be a whoosh and loss

Weighing means moving and stripping off in the bathroom@Blondeshavemorefun - not going to happen anytime soon. Today I've sat mostly propped up to stop the drowning feeling.

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 19:23

Oh @poppym12 I hope you feel better soon Flowers

CrazyGoatLady · 01/11/2024 19:48

Yay @owlyboo all the NSVs for you! 😃

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 19:49

Thanks @CrazyGoatLady

I would just like to thanks this group for all the love and kindness we share to each other. It's so lovely ❤️

It is indeed the nicest thread on Mumsnet!

SilverSprings510 · 01/11/2024 20:04

Can’t remember who mentioned it but I also think a second month on 5mg was a mistake for me so I’ll be doing 2 x 7.5 out of this 5mg pen (still have 2 weeks plus bonus so should be enough). I’m still losing but I’m finding it very difficult on day 5-7, so think I’m ready to move up.

NippyCrab · 01/11/2024 20:42

It's such a lovely wee thread and support circle. Even if someone doesn't feel like posting much they hopefully know they can pop on at anytime.

@SilverSprings510 the wearing off seems to creep up, i didn't realise how used to the lower dose I was until I moved up.

poppym12 · 01/11/2024 21:08

I'm also partly regretting my further month on 5mg. My weight loss has been slow but at least losses have been happening.

I'm starting to feel really hungry but I have been taking steroids so maybe I should hold off on increasing my dose (due Sunday) until the steroid hunger has worn off?

Me me me

I said go up

@poppym12 sorry you still feel rough

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2024 21:15

This is why I go up every month like they suggest

NippyCrab · 01/11/2024 21:36

Yet another thread been started with the OP wanting to buy MJ with a BMI of 25 and half a stone to lose. Another poster same thread lied and has a pen in the fridge to start also wishes to lose a small amount, would never inject both though lol.
This is why is will be very difficult to discuss our real life weight loss issues with friends and family, these numpties!
I despair!
Over and out, signing off before I end up posting, it's like talking to one of my dogs who has the one brain cell bobbing about in his nut.

Goodnight and sleep well MJ buddies xx

ChunkyMunky · 01/11/2024 21:57

Amazing NSVs @owlyboo well done.

Hope you feel better soon @poppym12

Been tired today but still managed to get out with the little ones. Have definitely managed to be more active this half term than in previous ones. Scary how you don’t realise how much the weight is slowing you down.

@NippyCrab I’m keeping my MJ a firmly guarded secret. My mum already thinks that weight-loss drugs are for “people who want a magic pill so they can keep eating rubbish”, threads like the one you mentioned, and some of the recent news coverage don’t help at all. I did see some (Dr Xand maybe?) recently discussing them in quite a positive light though.

owlyboo · 01/11/2024 22:00

Thanks @ChunkyMunky and we all know unlesss you add willpower the jabs don't mean fuck all so ignore ignore ignore

I mentioned that a 2nd month on 5mg has been a mistake. I assumed that because I've still decent suppression that MJ was still working fully? But I haven't lost anything in over 2 weeks and have actually gained a pound back!

ChunkyMunky · 01/11/2024 22:26

Couldn’t help myself, had to weigh-in (excuse the pun) on the bmi 25 thread.

If you’re eating within a calorie deficit then you’re still heading in the right direction. I’m not a fabulous scientist but I’ve seen some explanations about fat cells holding water as they empty (or something like that). It’s frustrating to not see the scales move each week but you’re still doing the right thing and it will pay off in the long run.
