Hello all you lovely chatty people! I try to step away from all social media type things at the weekend and give myself a break, but it means that there is a giant mountain of posts on here to get through.

I can't even start to reply to everyone, which ideally I'd like to as there is so much going on. However, I did want to say that I was so sorry to hear about your DH @Blondeshavemorefun .

Sorry to hear some people are feeling really rough healthwise . It's hard to know what is MJ and what is the vile range of bugs doing the rounds as well.

I see the Sunday Times has an article about MJ, which I'm about to go and look at, as I have a subscription to the Times through work. I hope it isn't too annoying. I'm going to see if I can read the Economist one too that someone linked to.

I lost half a pound this week 😁which is better than nothing, which was what I was expecting.

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun : just going back to my procrastination above as I know you’re moving through the doses too, are you worried about reaching 15 and it stopping working after a month or two? The more time goes by, the more I can see myself on this for some time maintenance wise too and also I am no where near my goal yet!

Just done jab 3 from my second 5mg pen.

Have been bouncing around the same kilo for about a week and a half now with no real progress. I am just a shade off a 10% weightloss so probably to be expected. I have also been a bit constipated which hasn't helped.

I probably need to get a bit more careful about the meals I eat rather than relying upon portion size restrictions. I could also up my exercise to kick start a loss.

I ordered a 7.5mg pen the other week following a few peckish days, but I am now reconsidering, especially as I have booked a holiday and don't want to feel unwell or unable to enjoy the amazing food. I am generally finding the suppression ok, I can eat 2 meals a day but feel full sooner. I often don't feel ready for my meal but can eat if I actually prepare something.

Wondering whether to order a 5mg pen and save the 7.5mg. Considering counting clicks and getting an extra week out of the pen but given it will be out of the fridge a bit it probably isn't the best idea.

Ho hum dilemma.

I'm also looking for recommendations for travel cases and ice packs suitable for flying, if anyone has travelled with theirs yet.

Also looking for protein recommendations. I am trying to eat more via eggs, cheese and meat but my hair shedding suggests I need more. I don't want to add calories if I can avoid it, I don't like shakes/smoothies and don't have a sweet tooth.

I asked on here and the consensus was to up my dose (my suppression was not as good as yours) - on Saturday night, I jabbed 7.5 from my 5 pen (counted clicks). Yesterday I felt maybe slightly nauseous, and last night I was back to horrible heartburn, but all ok other than that, feel good so far and food noise has stopped..
I've got lots of fish and tofu for the week plus some protein yoghurt (to eat with prunes, got to get that sorted too...) Went abroad with an opened pen and didn't keep it cool, just chucked it in my toiletries bag.

@WorriedRelative On protein - I've added chickpeas and full-fat greek yoghurt or Fage to meals where I can. Clear whey is the biggest help though - you make it up with water, and it tastes like fruit squash; if you add ice that takes the edge off it more. Current favourite is the foodspring Lemonade flavour, which is quite tart. MyProtein also has loads of flavours and you can buy sample packs - I like their mojito and raspberry lemonade. Even if you're not counting calories, it's really worth mapping your protein intake to check you're getting enough.

I will be travelling with a pen with only one dose out of it to a country where it could exceed 30c.

I should have a fridge at my accommodation but will be travelling around between hotels so I definitely need to have means to keep it cool.

I will do jab one from the new pen the day before flying so really don't think increasing then is sensible. I will do two jabs while away.

I suppose I could count clicks now to increase but I don't know if that's sensible when I have suppression and hair loss. No bad side effects at the moment a bit nauseous and burpy after the jab occasional heart burn if I over eat.

I'm thinking of stopping even though I'm now technically just on the borderline of obese and overweight. I feel good, my clothes fit better. It's enough that I still feel and look like me (plus the cost, constipation is a killer, and I've not told anyone about the jabs so it would be hard to explain becoming a size 10 from a size 16). I've been seeing a PT, doing 4-5 gym sessions a week and cut out wine which is a big help, and I'll carry on with.

I'm not sure chasing a BMI / weight in the 10stone range is what I want, or will be possible to maintain when I come off it.

Need to decide to order another 5 pen soon and feel really ambivalent. Can anyone relate?

Good morning, I've not caught up yet, I've just read the tags quickly. @Blondeshavemorefun I'm twisting and yes, 7.5mg and I would be in a wee corner crying haha or pan bread 🍞 😅
If I cant twist @ChunkyMunky @CrazyGoatLady @MabelSpan I'll just start the new pen and order some needles. @Usernamechangeforthis12 my 3 steal everything, food, washing, Slippers, needles. I had the package on a unit and knob dog stole it and then him and the puppy shredded the package and chewed some of the contents. It could've been a bad outcome! Little shits.

For me it is about health more than looks so I want to get to bmi 25 or thereabouts.

I don't see the point in stopping while still obese. Especially as if you stop cold turkey you may well gain a bit.

I would carry on, aim for a slow loss so you can adjust your image of yourself and so others just see you dieting successfully. Definitely don't stop to avoid having to explain your loss!

Yes I do worry as I don't think the low doses work with me

But I do feel that 10 is hopefully doing something

I do have some kind of suppression in that didn't eat all of tea last night

But I don't get the never want chocolate cakes crisps etx that many do

So I'm the one who is limiting me not mj

I could easily sit and eat 2/3 bag a day

But I limit myself to 3/4 a week

Hopefully I will get some good losses on 10 and stay in it for a month or two

Rather then go up to 12.5 or even 15

@Blondeshavemorefun in a way you’re in a more powerful position if you feel suppression is sub optimal on MJ as you’re your own discipline at least!
tried to do a trawl of US Reddit as obviously UK sources limited given its relatively recent and this does seem to be a thing, which I think is going to influence me going up

@20bloodypounds thank you for your thoughts about set point. I appreciate you can't be a specialist in every area 😀. So many things on weight loss threads are said as if they're incontrovertibly true though, even when experts disagree on the evidence, that I like to ask people with a scientific background for their view when I get the chance!

I also appreciate I've probably stopped forcing myself to drink water as vigorously as I was at the outset. I've tried prioritising drinking more in the day and less in the evening to reduce the getting out of bed factor, as I think my sleep hasn't been that great on MJ anyway, but I don't think I've upped the daytime drinking enough. I also get this annoying thing when I drink something cold that my throat can have a bit of an uncomfortable spasm - I think it's related to chronic reflux, which I've had for about three years. Now the water is coming out colder from the tap, I leave it to reach room temperature and then forget I haven't actually drunk it! I'm hoping the reflux improves as I lose weight as it's mostly controlled by omeprazole, but I'd really like to stop taking it.

I'm just back from the GP and have been prescribed steroids and antibiotics. I currently have zero appetite as I feel like crap but need to eat to take these wretched pills. Interested to see how the steroids will affect my mounjaro appetite.

@annaspanner18 I'm in a similar boat although I do still have almost a stone left to lose to my original target. My latest loss took me from obese to overweight, but a healthy BMI would be another 2 stone, so like you, I'm not sure.

I'm going to just get to my target and see how I feel, and whether I want to lose another stone. That said, my plan regardless is to do this 7.5, and then come back down the doses.

I am worried about maintenance. I don't feel ambivalent though,

The suppression on 7.5 is definitely stronger than 5, I've just had to force a jacket potato down my neck.

Ohh @NippyCrab I’m glad the naughty dogs are ok. We’ve got one that eats all sorts as well.

@annaspanner18 why not order a 2.5mg of you’re not sure about the 5mg. Might ease you into stopping, if you want to, or just allow you a little thinking time.
