Hi all, gosh we’re a chatty lot - I’ve only been away a week and not only is there a new thread it’s already half full!
I haven’t caught up on the thread fully but definitely appreciated the explanation from @20bloodypounds - a really clear way of understanding it!
@SammySays - peppermint tea and peppermint capsules for sulfur burps. Although to be honest, the thing that’s helped me the most is omeprazole which I got on prescription from the doctors and it’s definitely sorted out many of the awful side effects (which included the burps, reflux, horrendous cramps around bra strap level and frequent sickness for me) - I really don’t think I’d have been able to continue on mj without it.
I’ve had a real wobble - not only is the hunger back (which I could live with) it’s the food noise and sweet cravings that are back almost at pre-mj levels. Towards the end of our week away I was giving into it - I’ve eaten quite a few sweets, biscuits and some chocolate whilst away, though if I am objective it’s still a fraction of what I’d have put away on a similar holiday before. But it felt a bit scary and definitely put paid to any idea that I’ve managed to change my eating habits in any lasting way yet, or that I’d be able to manage without the drug yet! I was mostly still tracking and staying around or under 1400 calories, but obviously not necessarily the right things (some still good stuff in there too!)
Anyway was fully expecting a gain when I weighed this morning but have managed to stay the same which I’ll take - have still lost 25lbs since the start.
So given the above I feel like 5 isn’t working for me - to be honest it hasn’t for a while really and I’ve already shortened the time between doses. I’m disappointed to have to go up to 7.5, particularly as there’s a cost implication (although oushk currently have a decent discount) but seems I’ll need to.
Trying to decide whether to go straight up to 7.5 when I inject today - I have one dose of a 5 pen left plus bonus dose so could make that up. Or maybe try for 6 as a bridging dose (although I wonder if doing the 3.75 bridging dose for a while is what meant 5 didn’t work so well for me overall). Either way I’ll jab tonight and hope for a better week next week!
I need to start getting back into exercise too - the sickness followed by covid followed by the worst fatigue has been a convenient excuse not to bother for a while now, but I can’t keep doing that!
