@Elephantino i totally get that. There’s such a range of losses (including some
amazing ones) on these threads. And we all, me included, tend to hop on to celebrate them when we have a good week. Are you feeling well on the jab? If so, then it sounds like a really healthy, sustainable loss that will hopefully mean your body adjusts really well to the loss.

Seldomseenkid · 31/10/2024 07:23

@Izzydogmum I halfed my dose after a bad 1st week on MJ and have continued a reduced dose ever since. It might be worth trying the same and seeing if it works for you. I’ve never had a repeat of the side effects since and I have enough suppression to eat small meals and be satisfied, the food noise is less but not gone though!

85reasons · 31/10/2024 07:35

@Elephantino I agree with others - I try to focus not on how much I've lost but on the ease with which it's happening and how free I am feeling from the anxiety that usually surrounds diet efforts because I don't feel like I'm in constant 'danger' of throwing the towel in. It's going to happen, you will get to the weight you want to, it just requires patience.. sometimes I think it's best to switch off as much as possible from the fact I'm on MJ as possible. I've stopped tracking calories for one thing..

SecondDesk · 31/10/2024 08:51

@85reasons I have 6 1/4 to the next stone, 4 1/2 today. My weight fluctuates during the week. I'll take the loss at the week point.

I have lots to go.

SecondDesk · 31/10/2024 08:56

@Elephantino I am a slower loser. I try to focus on longer terms goals. There are 7 weeks to Christmas. 1lb per week weight loss would see you half a stone lighter. That seems like a good win. It doesn't matter that some people are losing that in a week or two.

I'm still hungry and trying hard, this definitely isn't effortless. I am able to make better food choices. I am mindful of how much I am actually eating.

SecondDesk · 31/10/2024 08:59

@Izzydogmum I took my injection on Friday nights so I have the weekend to cover any side effects.

I have moved a few days back because I've been away. My side effects have abated. It has been nearly 8 weeks that I have been on MJ.

simb · 31/10/2024 10:51

I'm coming to the end of my 2nd 2.5 pen. I have a 5 pen lined up and I'm planning to take 3.75 from it. I'm starting to find that any effects are worn off by around day 3 or 4 and I've had a couple of 'bingey' moments (but very much less than I would have without mj).

I'm not certain yet whether to take my last 2.5 bonus dose or whether to add to it from the next pen to increase to a 3.75... I suspect I'll do the latter... think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy some extra needles. It seems a shame we can buy them in smaller quantities!! Seems so wasteful to get a box of 100!

I'm currently 11 stone 2 from a starting weight of 12 stone 5. Really happy with my progress and happy that it's gentle and steady to give my skin time to catch up. Hoping to be in the 10s within the next few weeks! People are starting to notice and comment about my weight loss (close friends in a positive way and people who know I'm aiming to lose weight so the comments aren't inappropriate).

Let's all keep going!

suze12 · 31/10/2024 10:59

Well it’s the end of week 7 for me and I’ve had a much awaited whoosh of 4lbs and met my Halloween goal of 12st7 with 1lb to spare!

I’m really happy with this after my gain of 1lb last week and 2x 1lb losses the previous fortnight.

I’m now 1lb off that elusive first stone since starting MJ- hopefully I get it next week but period will be due so we’ll see..

I had my first dose of 5mg last week and have felt really good on it. Great levels of suppression and no side effects other than constipation which has got better over the last couple of days.

I’ve been really enjoying just not thinking about food and feeling like I’m dieting. But I do need to try and improve the quality of what I’m eating. I’m not really cooking and have barely had any vegetables over the last few weeks which is awful and will not be helping the constipation.

I think I’d avoided focusing on type of food as I was adamant that I didn’t want to feel like I was on a diet or start obsessing, but I think after 7 weeks it’s time to focus on nutrition and really make more of an effort not to live off protein yogurts, toast and eggs!

Wishing everyone a good week and happy Halloween.

SW- 13st5

week six- 12st10 (3.75mg)
week seven- 12st6 (5mg)

That's a very good point SecondDesk It's nice to imagine how I'll look by Christmas.

OvaHere · 31/10/2024 11:47

Had first properly rough day with side effects yesterday. Last jab of 5mg on Tuesday night then yesterday felt nauseous, sleepy and low energy but worst was stomach cramps all day. My 7.5 pen has already dispatched so now I'm a bit worried about next week. I'm off work this week but next Wed I'll be working.

I've been very fortunate so far with very little in the way of side effects until this week. I do feel much better today but 24hrs each week feeling lousy isn't great when working.

On the positive side I'm close to hitting 13 st now. Another couple of weeks and I should hopefully be 12 something for the first time in a long time.

MissBPotter · 31/10/2024 23:40

Been in the car a lot today, long journey and haven’t felt the need to snack at all. Have actually managed to fast most of the time. Usually would have eaten crap from service stations but didn’t feel at all tempted, thanks MJ!

Tipster100 · 01/11/2024 06:46

First week of 5mg done. No side effects at all so I'm pleased with that. I've found it a bit easier to ignore food but still don't feel like I can't finish my meals or anything like that. It's been half term this week though which has meant entertaining, eating out, drinking less water and more wine and generally trying to survive. Loss this week therefore is ZERO! Feeling a bit mad at myself for wasting my money. Anyone else struggle when the kids are on holiday? I really find it difficult to concentrate on myself when everyone is at home. Sadly it's half term next week too.

In NSV's I've lost 3cm off my waist. Oh, and I didn't eat the kids puddings in a restaurant when they were too full.

After half term I'm going to need to really focus on what's going into my mouth a bit more. I thought when I started I would eat less than 800 cals a day which is what I do on fast 800 and use MJ to hold my hand. But instead I've eaten quite normally but in moderate amounts. I'm nervous of doing 800 and coming off MJ and feeling like I've failed if I don't sustain that. I'm undecided on what is the right approach.

SecondDesk · 01/11/2024 10:25

@Tipster100 don't leave it a week to restart. My advice is to rethink your mindset now. Like you, I still have an appetite and could eat normally.

Things I do:

Have protein with every meal and eat it first.

Serve smaller portions and go back for more if needed

Drink water when cooking.

Plan meals. I have different options ready to go in the freezer. I have something quick and easy if everyone else is having something heavy.

Walk.

Good tips - thank you. I need to go back to logging my water as that's really effective for me too.

Exercise wise I do a lot of walking but less on the holidays because my husband walks the dogs for me a lot which I would normally do (he's a teacher so off). I quite like the break but not great for weight loss!

Good tip about eating protein first. And yes, I'll start now!! Another zero week would feel bad. Especially as I'm impatient as it is. Although I've lost a stone I am still feeling very big. Two more stone to go at least.

SecondDesk · 01/11/2024 10:54

You have got this @Tipster100

Even if you just log water and do every other dog walk, that's something.

I am using MJ to get me into better routines. It is important for me to keep up healthy habits when my routine is disrupted.

I'm away for a few nights. I've boiled eggs to take with me and have had lots of protein for breakfast.

Elephantino · 01/11/2024 11:27

Just taken my 10th injection (5mg) and had a loss of 1 pound this week. So in total since 1st September I have lost 10.8 pounds

Still seeing change in the way my clothes fit I am wearing size 16 comfortably. My boobs are still as massive as ever! Hoping they start to go down a bit soon. I have my period and usually I would gain a few pounds so it's nice that hasn't happened this month.

Hope everyone has a good week!

alwaysscared · 01/11/2024 11:38

@Tipster100 I have stalled with weight loss for 3 weeks. Also suppression has disappeared. Really, really frustrating and so disheartening. I am going up to 4mg today, titrating up slowly as I'm terrified of side effects!

alwaysscared · 01/11/2024 11:40

Continued...
Have been on 3.5mg for 2 weeks and have been so hungry most of the time!

SpiderMother · 01/11/2024 11:55

I did my 9th injection yesterday. Second pen at 5mgs. I lost exactly 2 pounds again last week, second week in a row. I had been a bit lower on a midweek weigh, but not going to stress about that, it will come off again.

My total loss in 8 full weeks on MJ is 19.1lbs and in total I've lost 26.1lbs. People are commenting that I look well, in a nice way, and in a massive NSV I tried on an old and beloved pair of jeans that haven't fitted for 7 years and they fit now.

I like the idea someone mentioned of thinking where you will be at Christmas. I should be under 10 stone for the first time since 2017!!

StanleyCup · 01/11/2024 11:59

This was my second week on 3.75mg and the suppression was very very strong! Somedays i was hardly eating and not even feeling it. It was also the first time i felt a little nauseous at times. Im sticking to 3.75 as it’s enough for now. Loss of 4lbs this week and i have hit the 12 mark.

SW- 13.10 8/9/24
Wk 1 - 13.3
Wk 2 - 13.1
Wk 3 - 12.13
Wk 4 - 12.10
Wk 5 - 12.10 (bonus dose)
Wk 6 - 12.6 (2.5 from 5 pen)
Wk 7 - 12.4 (3.75mg)
Wk 8 - 12.0
UGW- 10

Staying on 3.75 means i’m going to go over the 30 days with my pen and still have some left, i will continue to use and feedback if it still works. Mine has been left in the fridge all the way through.

85reasons · 01/11/2024 12:04

10th jab for me this morning, my third at 5mg.. pretty much stalled on weight loss for the past three weeks too. Bit bored!

Orangesandlemons77 · 01/11/2024 12:13

On 5mg here. Anyone having a new kind of 'food noise'? With me this is thinking about food and getting a reaction of nausea and not wanting it, to the extent that I don't want anything to eat at all.

there are a few things I can just about manage such as maybe a yoghurt and banana, or an apple, but not much

I'm worried I'm not having enough calories or protein, but oddly my weight seems to have stalled a bit. I had some veggie pasta dish last night and still thinking about that and wanting to be sick :-(

alwaysscared · 01/11/2024 12:13

@85reasons really annoying isn't it??

I'm like this for the first couple of days. It reminds me of early pregnancy.

Yes it is definitely worse the first few days, I agree. I'm just going with it, maybe will try a protein shake if it is not too horrible.
