@boxoftoads - plenty of love here! It does seem like a life saver and, from what I can tell by reading other's experiences, there is no guessing how the step up might go for you. A bad experience on 2.5mg doesn't mean you won't have a good one with 5mg. It's almost like everyone finds their best dose - and that varies between people.

Quick check in. I’m down 1.5 stone, and am plodding on. Am in the middle of the 5mg pen, and will probably go to the 7.5 on the next order.

Hope everyone is coping well.

FelicityBeedle · 22/10/2024 20:41

5mg is weird, I had zero effect on jab day but now I have zero appetite. I’ve been on nights and perfectly happy with cups of tea, normally I’d be eating everything in sight. I didn’t use this new superpower to make a healthy choice today though, I made a really rich macaroni cheese with leftover gammon and it was gorgeous

I'm just at end of week 6 and still finding it literally amazing...I'm so full after very small portions and not thinking about food.
Today I went out for a very fancy ( 2 Michelin starred restaurant) lunch...and it was a four course tasting menu, all based on autumn flavours, I had one small glass of champagne and boy do I feel sick now..
I ate it all ok as portions were tiny but hours later still feeling sick as a dog.
I'm due to jab tonight but put it off and will see how I feel tomorrow, I've not noticed any wearing off yet and I'm only doing 3.75 mg.
SW 76.4 kg
CW 67.4 kg
GW...maybe 64 kg...

I’m checking in for some love and some accountability.

I am 6lbs down, three weeks in. I move up to 5mg on Friday. I wasn’t expecting any weight loss to start with but even the same again would be amazing. I’ve been battling since 2020 and nothing has helped me lose weight. This seems to be a life saver.

I’m a bit scared but I am loving not being starving all the time (on all sorts of meds and HRT) so it’s helping a lot.

I didn’t get a great start on this so hoping the move up isn’t too bad

You don't have to move up. You're losing on 2.5 so you could stay on it another month. So many people who started when they were told to always move straight up are advising to stay as low as you can while you're still losing.

Ozgirl75 · 23/10/2024 00:00

Hello! I haven’t posted much because I haven’t had much to report. Weight loss is stabilising at about a kilo a week, which is a LITTLE slow, but ok and given that I haven’t been able to lose a single gram without Mounjaro, it’s fine by me.

I ate a different lunch yesterday - just slightly bigger and I felt dreadful all afternoon. Probably my first symptom day and I’m 4 weeks in!

peonym · 23/10/2024 09:45

Hi all. Quick check in for me:

End of week 4, took 5mg last night before bed. Feel fine so far.

SW: 18,7
MJ SW: 16,10
CW: 15,12
GW: 10,7

Delighted to see a "15" on the scale and would love another stone off before Christmas.

Well done on the losses so far!

ShiftAMountain · 23/10/2024 19:06

Whoop! Well done @peonym and good to hear 5mg is treating you ok, so far.

Today’s marks the end of week 4 and the start of 5mg and an overall loss of 1st. 😊. I was going to try 3.75mg but I’m just going for it.

SW 19st 4lb
CW 18st 4lb
GW 15st 4lb

I’m 50, 5’11, had bmi of 37 and started as a large size 20.

i was quite ill and on my first real period in 6 months (thanks pero menopause) when I started - and I think I’m starting another one now based on the weight fluctuation this last few days (I put on 4-5lb at the start of my periods).

Overall happy with the 1st loss. No real issues I think but again I’ve been that ill with Covid/flu that it could have got mixed in with the nausea and aches and pains of that.

Not noticed many off scale victories but not looked for them. Very busy DIYing my house and happy sausage all round though.

I need to ensure I keep that water intake habit up though as I know it’s slipped since week 2. Walking more. Bit of gym. And swimming from next week.

Well done for all the losses everyone!

Throwing my 4 week final stats into the mix. I ended up eeking the jabs out to move my injection day, so I'm not taking the next one until Saturday, but here is 4 weeks since I started. Very happy and feel more normal with the slightly lower dose

SW: 196.6lb / 14st / 89.2kg
CW: 184.6lb / 13st 2lb / 83.7kg
GW: probably 147lbs / 10.5st / 66kg

Total loss: 12lb / 5.4kg
Wk1: -6.4lbs / 2.9kg** (2.5mg)
Wk2: -2lb / 0.9kg (2.5mg)
Wk3: -1.4lb / 0.6kg (1.25mg)
Wk4: -2.2lb / 1kg (2mg)

BMI start: 32.2
BMI current: 30.4

8 weeks until Christmas and I'm hoping to loose another stone by then, to take me to 12st / 168lb / 76kg

Yes it's Shotsy @10storeylovesong

I think I read that there is an android version called slim shot, but haven't used it so no idea how good it is.

Snapespeare · 24/10/2024 10:23

Had my COVID and flu vaccines on Tuesday and feeling under the weather today - going to go to body pump this afternoon and have a rest day tomorrow. I have eye surgery scheduled in mid November, so can't exercise properly for probably two weeks and possibly six (!) so I'm front loading as much as possible.

AussieMum135 · 24/10/2024 10:40

Great stat's @cocoaone! I also enjoy your graph....I do love good data!! I'm using fitbit and recording everything but it doesn't show as nice as yours.

NoRealPersonInvolved · 24/10/2024 12:02

End of my first pen update:

SW: 13st 3.5lb
CW: 12st 5.75lb
GW: 10st 7lb

Total loss 11.75lb. Average loss per week = 2.35lb. Cost per lb lost = £9.62 (offset mostly by the reduction in food & alcohol)

I averaged 1100-1200 calories per day and only had 2 days where I felt mild nausea. I'm continuing on 2.5mg for the next 4 weeks. Should hit my goal by the end of January.

Marble02031 · 24/10/2024 12:24

I am fast approaching the end of week 5, I took my bonus dose last Saturday. I had a sneaky look at the scales and I have lost 16lb in total on 2.5mg.

For the first 3 weeks I felt sick all of the time. But the last 2 weeks this has come and gone. I am feeling hungry at mealtimes but not overeating and I have stuck to 1700-1800 calories.

I was about to reorder a 2.5mg pen but at the last minute I changed it to a 5mg. I am really worried about trying it if I am honest. When I inject within hours I get side effects, does anyone know how many clicks it is for 3.75mg? I might give that a try first.

So my first week on 5mg is finished today, and I’ve got no appetite still I actually forgot it was jab day. I was on one to one with a patient all morning and didn’t want my break, didn’t actually eat until half one.
SW 116.7kg
CW 109.3 kg as of yesterday morning
GW I don’t actually know yet, how are people choosing their goal weight as I’ve been fat all my adult life, I think 72kg is a healthy BMI?

Bellyblueboy · 24/10/2024 19:08

I have just taken my extra shot - so 5 shots of 2.5 from my first pen.

the golden shot was really easy. I used a needle and got exactly 0.6ml out - nothing extra like others managed.

I have lost 12lbs in the first four weeks which is great. I expect weight loss to slow down a little now - but that’s fine. I start 5mg next week.

I chose my goal weight as 9st 4 - because it’s a three stone weight loss, a BMI of 24 and I remember being that weigh (for about ten minutes) and feeling very pleased with myself.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 24/10/2024 19:46

Well done on the loses everyone. End of week 5 for me and lost 15lbs! Keep having dreams about my trousers falling down so time for some new jeans.

As above I've chosen my goal weight as a 3 stone loss but would probably like to lose a couple more pounds for insurance purposes when I come off the jabs.

Will be having my second dose of 3.75 tomorrow (a day late) and very happy on this so will probably stay on 3.75 next month. My gf went straight to 5mg and is having a terrible time with side effects.

Just reporting back on 5mg so far - I did feel a bit queasy today and then spent a short amount of time on loo (TMI) but felt fine after that. Could only manage half dinner, and food noise gone.

Great losses so far - I see lots of stone marks for 4 weeks!!
