Well done @ShiftAMountain welcome to class 1 😁. I'd just like to be obese right now. 🤣🤣. Although I am now under 14 stone (just!) for the first time in ten years I reckon.

TheCatterall · 13/12/2024 14:11

@ShiftAMountain thats fantastic!

im on 7.5mg and next week is week 12 - lost 6lb so far but its better than nothing and in the right direction. BMI is now 33 after over 2 stone lost. Another 1 stone down to get into obese category. Getting there. :)

Bellyblueboy · 13/12/2024 14:14

My weight loss has now slowed to 1lb a week - which is fine and a more sustainable and healthy loss rate. I am now 10st 7 which is awesome.

Still on 5mg.

People are really starting to notice which I find awkward - I hate the huge comments - oh my god you have lost a tonne of weight. It makes me feel bad about how I must have looked. But, onwards and upwards (or downwards😂)

Hello there! I’ve had a bit of a whoosh after being stuck at 66kg for a couple of weeks and I’ve now got to 64 which is brilliant. My size 16 clothes are now not just loose, they’re too big, like the jeans need a belt and a skirt is now trailing on the floor because it doesn’t have my stomach hoiking it up.
I’ve stayed on 2.5 dose and would like to get to 57/58kg as that’s 9 stone but I feel great at this weight too.
Read an article in the paper this week from a PT about how all the middle aged women who are losing though Mounjaro are also losing muscle and can’t lift weights any more and I thought, well you’re not doing a good job as a PT then are you - my PT keeps pushing me to lift heavier weights to keep my muscle up and I’m having no problem at all!

Also - on keeping the pen cold - I’m off on holiday next week and have to take a new pen with me. My nurse said that as long as it doesn’t get actually warm it will be fine. I have a long flight where it will be unrefrigerated but she said it’s no problem.

FelicityBeedle · 13/12/2024 23:20

Congrats @ShiftAMountain !!!
I think after I hit <100kg, class 1 obese will be my next big goal

Ozgirl75 · 14/12/2024 00:45

Well pleasingly I went to pick up my pen this morning and it’s gone down in price by $100! That’s about £50 a pen less which is fab.

Cocoaone · 14/12/2024 07:37

Week 11 update

SW: 196.6lb / 14st 0.6lb / 89.2kg / 32.2 BMI
CW: 169.4lb / 12st 1.4lb / 76.8kg / 27.9 BMI
GW: 147lbs / 10st 7lb / 66kg / 24 BMI

Total loss: 27.2lbs / 1st 13.2lb / 12.4kg
Wk 1-4: 12.6lb
Wk 5-8: 8.8lb
Wk9. -2.6lb / 1.2kg
Wk10: -0.6lb / 0.3kg
Wk11: -2.6lb /1.2kg

I’ve stayed at a low dose again (3mg) and I’ve felt much better for it. The food noise and hunger have started to creep in ever so slightly, but I’d rather that than feel overly full and bloated all the time.

I’m 0.8lbs away from losing 2st on MJ, and 1.4lbs from a total loss of 3st this year and weighing 12st, which is amazing. It was my goal when I started trying to lose weight in January, to lose 20% of my weight, so I’m hoping I can achieve that by Christmas.
DH bought me some new joggers in size M and I was apprehensive - but they fit nicely. Last Christmas he bought me a L of the same item and they were too tight to wear. And my knickers are getting too big 🤣

Massive congrats @ShiftAMountain that's amazing progress. Just think of where you'll be by the time spring and then summer roll around 😁

@Bellyblueboy - 15% lost in 12 weeks is brilliant. I've still not had any comments really, but I'm terrible when it comes to compliments and babble a load of crap in response, so I'm grateful!

@10storeylovesong - I wonder if losing the weight has helped - maybe decreased the pressure on your joints so you're able to stand a bit taller?! Very cheering news though.

@Ozgirl75 - you can get little travel pouches which keep meds cool for travel - my aunt uses one for her thyroid medication. Not sure how expensive they are. But I kept my first pen out of the fridge all month and it as fine

Theredjellybean · 14/12/2024 07:46

@ShiftAMountain brilliant news. Well done.
@Ozgirl75 I am also at 64 kgs and feeling fantastic. Can I ask...what height are you ? I'm 5:4 and my size 12 clothes are falling down/off me....your size 16's must be like tents😀.
I definitely have lost some muscle but I think more I need to tone up the muscle so that's my plan for January.
I've lost 0.2 kg this week which is good as think I've found a maintenance dose at 2.5 mg.
Going to try it again this week and see...

Ozgirl75 · 14/12/2024 08:23

Hey @Theredjellybean I’m also 5ft 4! I’m in Aus and I think the sizes are a bit different here as I wore size 14 trousers in the U.K. and size 16 over here. But yes they are now falling down!

🎉🎉🎉 well done @10storeylovesong

ShiftAMountain · 14/12/2024 18:52

Awesome @10storeylovesong - how fantastic!!

We've had some great results on here, in time for Christmas! I am thrilled for everyone who's lost and equally pleased for @Ozgirl75 whose pens just got quite a bit cheaper Grin

I keep wondering if we might see a bit of a price war as more suppliers get in the game. I noticed on the price list that there is even a 2.5mg pen supplier that is under £100 right now. That's already a big jump from when we started, when the cheapest was about £115.

I am only in the second level of obese now!! Never thought I'd be happy to say that but BMI down by 6 points and 2.5 stone gone ....

Theredjellybean · 14/12/2024 22:11

@10storeylovesong ... brilliant news.
@Ozgirl75 ..ah yes, I've lived down under and do remember the sizes being different.
My size 12's are mostly loose/ comfortable fitting with some things indecently falling down.

ChubbyMcChubfest · 15/12/2024 01:06

Well done everyone on your continued losses. It's great to hear about people noticing looser clothing, needing belts etc.

My jeans and work trousers are a lot looser but I'm still wearing size 18s and some 20s which is a bit annoying. I'm one of those people who starts a diet in the morning and by lunchtime I've convinced myself I must look like Angelina Jolie or similar. My clothes constantly prove me wrong. I've been trying on outfits for my Christmas Do, originally bought a year or two ago and many of them are looking really good again so that's lovely, though I'm now struggling on which of them to choose from. A nice problem to have.

I didn't post last weekend but lost 2.75lb taking me to 13st 11.75lb, and this week ive lost another 1.5lb so I'm now at 13st 10.25lb - just a quarter of a pound off having lost 1.5st which I'm really happy about. I'm still on 2.5mg dose and it's working well for me, with slow but steady weight loss.

RandomID · 15/12/2024 02:05

Long time since I posted.

I’m 20kg down in 14 weeks. I start the 10mg dose on Tuesday. I’ve had one or two instances of being physically sick if I go beyond my appetite limit (usually if something is ridiculously delicious!) so I don’t do that any more!

I have been told I am visibly changing shape, so that’s a bonus. I still have a vast amount of to lose, but that will happen at whatever rate it chooses to come off at. For now I’ll keep trucking, and avoiding steak as it just doesn’t bloody digest!

I hope everybody navigates cheese season well.

RandomID · 15/12/2024 02:10

Having googled the classes of obesity, I still sit very firmly in class 3, but I’ve gone from a BMI of 53+ to under 50, so I’ll take that for now.

FelicityBeedle · 15/12/2024 15:48

@RandomID
That is bloody amazing! Well done

Well done @RandomID, amazing achievement!

ShiftAMountain · 15/12/2024 19:38

That's fantastic progress @RandomID ! Well done!

Has anyone noticed hair loss? I wasn't sure over the last couple of weeks, but suspected and today in the bath I gathered up my hair loss and think it's about double what I would usually lose when washing my hair. I've always had fine hair but lots of it and so always lost a fair bit when I washed it, but this has definitely increased.

I take biotin (regularly) and collagen (less regularly, because I hate taking it) and a good multi vit. My hair doesn't feel any thinner on my head (yet?) and I've read that the loss is temporary, more as a shock from the reduction in food, and then starts to grow again, so I'm hoping I can just ride it out.

Thank you for the kind words. I’ve felt quite rough this weekend, I’ve got that gritty virus, and it’s knocked my digestive system out too. Everything I eat wants to come back the way it came. Not ideal, but I’m on the mend now.

With regards to hair loss, my hair is short enough that I don’t notice the strands. It’s been thinning since my early twenties though. Successive pregnancies really did a number on me! :o

I’ve decided I’m going to gut my wardrobe over the new year break. So much of what I have is now more marquee-like than clothing shaped. Thankfully leggings and tights are very forgiving; I just need to find a handful of new tees or jumpers. Perhaps a pair of jeans too.

lespameo · 16/12/2024 10:15

@ShiftAMountain I had the hair loss following some surgery 6 years ago, where my body went into shock! I was so so paranoid about it at the time but it did pass quickly and it was only me noticing ( no one else did ). If you're already taking biotin, the only other thing I can suggest is wearing your hair up more frequently so it doesn't need washing as much! Washing my hair was when it fell out so I washed twice a week instead of my usual 3 times a week.

ShiftAMountain · 16/12/2024 11:06

It's a good point about it mostly coming out when I wash it. I can definitely reduce that frequency slightly without too many problems. Thanks!
