First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

I'm nearly at the end of week 2 and also think about food a lot. I've noticed a difference though, it's not like with other diets where I'm trying to work out what I can have (do I have any points/syns left if I eat this, can I eat that), it's more trying to work out if I should have something....I'm aiming for 1400 calories a day and right or wrong, try to eat three meals a day, hungry or not and sometimes I have to talk myself into having something as I could go without and I have a little battle with the bad voice telling me just to leave it as I may lose more weight. But.....the good voice usually wins, because I've earmarked a year's worth of paying for the jabs and I really really really want to learn and be different around food when I stop taking the medicine and not end up with another failure under my belt - this time a fairly expensive one!!

Yes that's exactly it. I am more thinking should I? Rather than what shall I?

Davinal · 23/10/2024 13:17

I've just done my first MJ injection and I'm worried that it didn't go in properly!! It barely seemed to enter my skin - the needle is was shorter than I imagined. There was some excess liquid around the entry point, and a little blood when I'd finished, but I'm not convinced I got it all in!! Plus, I didn't actually feel anything!

Does this sound normal, or did I mess up 😭

Gr3atEscape · 23/10/2024 13:18

Hunger is definitely strong for me today and had my first bit of chocolate in almost 2 weeks (previously would have been daily). Interesting thing was that although I was really craving it, it didn't taste great at all. Definitely not as satisfying as I was imagining. God if this thing turns me off chocolate altogether, it will be worth the money!

Sounds normal. . Try hold it against your skin for 5 to 10 seconds after you've pressed it down next time, might stop the little bit on your skin.

But yeah you don't feel anything, well I don't.

almondmilk123 · 23/10/2024 14:02

Re needle advice, God bless you ladies - I'm on Wegovy - what exact needle would I need? Google says Novofine - can anyone confirm?

Jabtastic · 23/10/2024 14:04

Just did my first jab. I felt nauseous within a couple of minutes which I wasn't expecting 🙃 I imagined it might be later after a meal etc. Hopefully it will pass quickly. A bit 'sweaty' feeling too.

I also didn't realise I needed to put the cap back on to pull the stupid needle off and dispose of it!

Davinal · 23/10/2024 14:17

Did anyone else get a slight 'taste' in the back of their throat quite swiftly after injecting?

I'm now wishing I hadn't injected in my thigh. I've literally only just read how the abdomen is more effective. How have I been pondering this for months, and missed that bit?!? I'm kicking myself. I feel like I've messed up already.

Jabtastic · 23/10/2024 14:20

I never heard of that! Where did it tell you that? I did my stomach but I wondered was that why I got the almost instant nausea. It's eased off a good bit now but I feel very sleepy. I'm wondering if it would be better injecting it at bedtime.

HansHolbein · 23/10/2024 14:42

Congratulations to all that have lost and welcome aboard newbies!

I’m W2D2 and really struggling to eat. I’ve pretty much just forced down a small tuna salad. I feel like my stomach is going to pop! I am dreading eating dinner later. It’s such a powerful drug. A month ago all I cared about was food and I never knew this was possible. I suppose this is how ‘normal’ people go about their day?

I’m still not sleeping the greatest and I haven’t gone to the loo very much… but I’m drinking a ton which I don’t usually do. A protein shake has been a godsend for me. I think I would be sick if I had to keep eating meat all day.

@Davinal I felt the same thing! Did it really go in? Surely not! It’s a tiny needle and you just don’t feel anything. Total normal to have some residue afterwards. Just make sure you hold it in for 10 seconds after you’ve pushed the clicker down. First time, as I took it out, I properly scratched myself and it was bleeding a bit. You’ll be an expert soon!

@Gr3atEscape Funny you should say that. I was watching the BB eviction on Friday night (I know, it’s my guilty pleasure, lol) and my daughter offered me some chocolate. Well, I had one square and it was the sweetest thing I ever put in my mouth! I didn’t have anymore. It was overpowering!

@Jabtastic Love your username! God, I felt the same. I think it was adrenaline?! I got the right heebiejeebies! You’ve done the first step, well done!

Have a good day all!

Davinal · 23/10/2024 14:51

Ah, thanks Hans. I'm just hoping I got enough in to work !🤞

I don't think I held it for 10 seconds before starting the injection either - I thought I had to hold it afterwards 🙈

HansHolbein · 23/10/2024 14:57

@Davinal Yes, that’s correct! Stick it in, push clicker down, hold! Mind you, I’ve only done it twice myself so could be talking out of my arse! Whatever I have done has worked though because food can GET LOST!!

Correct.. twist 2 clicks then prime, just to make sure needle is working.. then twist all the way to 1.. then stuck it in your skin and press down to 0. Then hold for 5 to 10 seconds then take it out..

Doghairismyglitter · 23/10/2024 15:47

@Davinal i did first 2 in the stomach, third in the thigh. For me so far the thigh has worked better, as in stomach my week 2 side effects were horrid. I couldn’t eat anything at all, which I don’t think is healthy for me.

In the thigh I’ve got good suppression but managed to eat a bit more. Today had a banana for breakfast. Turkey and tomato roll for lunch. Would never have managed that last week after stomach jab. So I’m still happy I’m eating well but actually eating if that makes sense. No vomiting or light headedness/dizziness which is worth it to me.

Do you think the change of site was the key? You're making me want to go for thigh next week to avoid the horrible side effects if possible!

Loujab · 23/10/2024 17:16

I am 6 days in to my first week. All going well and I am seeing a loss on the scales. But effects of reduced food craving is a lot less today. I am due the injection tomorrow am. Is this normal?

letshavetea · 23/10/2024 17:22

@Loujab - yes it is. Lots of us experience reduced suppression towards the end of the week. I last jabbed on Sunday evening and I’m feeling hunger start to return this evening. I can resist snacking though and portion size remains reduced throughout the week.

littleburn · 23/10/2024 12:04

On W3D3 and just done my first weigh in. I can get a bit obsessive about weighing myself, so I've held off until now and plan to only do it every few weeks.

SW: 12 stone 1lb
CW: 11 stone 7lb
TW: 9 and a half to 10 stone

8lb in 3 and a half weeks! So pleased 😄 I know my SW may not look that high, but I'm only 5'2" and that 8lb has taken me out of the obese BMI range.

Congrats on being overweight Grin

Is anybody else using MedExpress? I am beyond thrilled that somebody has used my referral code. Is there anyway I can find out who it is so that I can send them a pm to say thanks? If not and you happen to be on this thread or a lurker here I really would like to let you know how grateful I am!
In other news it's W1D6 for me and the suppression has definitely worn off and I am starving but trying to restrain myself. I'm grateful that I've only got to get through tomorrow before the next jab dealing with all this food noise!.

ItsMintUpNorth · 23/10/2024 17:49

Well after being confident for the last few days that I will move up the 5mg today has totally confused me!

Suppression has remained but I had a lot of sugar cravings creeping in and I'm a daily weigh-er and my weight had stayed the same for 8 days but then I get to today and I have been so nauseous all day the only thing I've managed is a coffee and a small portion of pasta just now! W3 D3 so I was getting ready to re-order and go for a 5 but now I'm not sure if 2.5 can still have this effect on me.

Was it from the 'codes' thread? If so, I think it was me - your username jumped out at me because I'd just been talking to my mum who is about as far removed from a reckless gran as you can get! I love her of course but it made me smile at the time.

Pleased to have helped (if it was indeed me).

MissSmith80 · 23/10/2024 18:05

Welcome to the new MJ'ers

Wk 2 D1 for me and my word the second dose has kicked in. We had a mad start to the morning so I thought I'd have breakfast after the school run, before I know it, its 1pm and I had to make the effort to eat (homemade soup).
Then after swimming we got pizza, I had 2 slices and was done - completely unheard of for me.
I've got a busy day tomorrow so I must organised and take food with me or I can see me not eating until I get home around 7pm.

Have a good evening all x

recklessgran · 23/10/2024 18:12

@MissSmith80 I've pm'd you with thanks and origin of username!

Jabtastic · 23/10/2024 19:16

Did anyone get odd pains on MJ when they started? I'm getting pain at my sternum. I just ate a small, bland dinner - chicken, pasta and broccoli and I feel absolutely stuffed AND did the most enormous burps!

This isn't even supposed to be a clinical dose but I'm definitely feeling something different!

littleburn · 23/10/2024 19:16

@ItsMintUpNorth thank you! 😂
