I know I'm a bore with my (semi) regular updates but I'm so happy today (not in general tbh but about this specifically right now Grin)

I've lost 70 lbs as of today! 5 whole stone! Never thought I'd be able to do it again.

Started at just under 15 stone and I'm now 9 stone 13. Eeek. It's taken 6 months, just over.

And no, that's not a scarf round my waist in the second pic

I've just seen a weight beginning with 9 on the scales!!!

Fabulous! Well done. What an achievement.
I’m thoroughly impatient for the 9s (low 10s are draggggging)

MissionaryMumtoOne · 01/10/2024 10:21

Amazing well done! 💐

can I be nosey and ask how you did it? Only because I have 2 stone to lose and simple eat less and move more isn’t really working for me…

HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 10:22

@VioletsHeart took me 2 months to get out of them!

@MissionaryMumtoOne ah, Mounjaro. See the topic! Just in case you've stumbled in here by mistake

minipie · 01/10/2024 10:24

My goodness, 5 stone in 6 months is amazing.

Is there a weight where you won’t be given Mounjaro any more? Do you think the habits will stick even once you’re off it?

HippoPortlyMouse · 01/10/2024 10:31

@HiThereBatFace, you're inspiring me this morning. I'm a month in, 12lbs down, also started just under 15 stone. Finding it hard to believe I'll get there as even with mounjaro, it's a long old road! Seeing people's successes gives me hope!

HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 10:40

@minipie yes I think I'm about there now tbh. I've only ever ordered 2.5mg dose though so don't have too much to wean off of! I'll order my last pen shortly and then I'll stop

Ive also always eaten 1400 calories a day and rarely dipped below that. So that would help my top tip - don't eat 800 cals a day or whatever because hunger will return and you've probably got a fighting chance of beating it if your body is used to eating relatively normal daily calories

OP posts:
HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 10:42

@HippoPortlyMouse well done on the loss so far! Of course you'll do it - just eat properly and nutritiously and keep going. Another 5 months will pass and you'll be there.

I never thought I'd see 9 stone something again - it's been a decade! I also had to shut up the voice in my head telling me that, in late perimenopause, I should settle for 11 stone.

Well done @HiThereBatFace your posts are not boring you are right to share as much as you want and celebrate. You seem to have done it really sensibly trying to maintain the calories etc. so you are a good advocate. I am struggling to get up to 1400 so doing my best to eat the right stuff and take vitamins and I exercise. I appreciate you sharing about 2.5 dose as I feel I will try and stay on that dose as up to now have enough suppression but still want to eat without the stuffing face or craving rubbish. So it proves that 2.5 can be an adequate dose for some.
So hoping that will be enough to achieve GW by end Dec.
SW 14-1
CW 12.13
GW 10.09
not sure could get below GW.

unsync · 01/10/2024 12:47

It's great isn't it, I felt the same way going under 100 kgs - into double digits now.

HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 13:56

@unsync ooh well done. And yes, it feels like achieving the impossible doesn't it, when you see a whole new range on the scales!

HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 13:58

@DollyPop100 aw thank you

And well done on your losses so far. I remember being over the moon to see a 12 again, I'd been in the 14s for so long

Prepare for it to now really settle into a pattern now though! Depends on how many calories you take in in a day so your losses will probably be quicker than mine but I've averaged 2.4 lbs loss a week, according to my trusty weight app

MounjaroUser · 01/10/2024 14:03

That's amazing - I am halfway there so you're an inspiration.

What's been the best thing about losing so much weight?

Pyjamatimenow · 01/10/2024 14:09

I’ve lost 2st 7 so far on this. It’s really amazing

coxesorangepippin · 01/10/2024 14:10

So happy for you

That's amazing!

You must feel like a feather

doodleschnoodle · 01/10/2024 14:13

That's brilliant! I'm a month in (on Thursday) and 17lbs down. Almost had an embarrassing incident this morning when my trousers nearly fell down! I want to get to about 9.5 stone as goal weight so this is encouraging. I started well into 14 stone and am now not too far from being into the 12s, which feels remarkable in itself in such a short time. I haven't been this weight since before DC.

My husband has also started and has lost 11bs in two weeks too.

LoveSandbanks · 01/10/2024 14:16

Thank you so much for sharing this, it’s brilliant to share good news. I think my goal is about 10st but 10 is the first number on the scales now. I lost 5lb in September which I’m happy with. It’s a steady loss which is fine. Some could say I could lose that without Mounjaro. Well I tried everything and didn’t manage to

eeeeeeeee · 01/10/2024 14:21

How much more do you have until you reach your goal?

how did you find the weight loss distribution, are there any areas that you found stubborn for weight loss?

interesting that you stuck to 2.5mg!

DollyPop100 · 01/10/2024 15:43

Yes I was over the moon especially after trying everything from Jan and no results, then starting HRT April and gaining a stone so not seen a 12 for some time ! feel can finally achieve my goal

DollyPop100 · 01/10/2024 15:44

sorry gained half stone on Hrt not a stone

BecauseOfTheRain · 01/10/2024 16:00

Congratulations! How wonderful it must feel , you've done so well

HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 16:03

@eeeeeeeee not sure on a target tbh! I feel fine at this weight but I'll go a little lower to give myself some weight rebound allowance!

Well my stubborn area is my upper body! I had a tummy tuck and breast reduction a few years back (came perilously close to wrecking my results by stuffing my face and going up to nearly 15 stone!) so I don't put weight on in those areas really - esp my tummy as they remove the fat cells from there making it impossible to gain

However it just means that weight goes on in other places so my shoulders / upper arms have proved difficult to shift from.

But in reality, it tends to come off from all over - I picture myself as if I'm made entirely from a block of butter and the tiniest scrape comes off all over for every lb you lose! Yes I'm odd

OP posts:
HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 16:05

@DollyPop100 I took HRT 2 years ago and the same thing happened. So I came off it and it's turned out that just losing weight has got rid of what I believed were menopausal symptoms so I've not gone back on it yet

I understand that HRT has protective future benefits but for now, I'm choosing to stay off it

OP posts:
HiThereBatFace · 01/10/2024 16:05

@Pyjamatimenow @doodleschnoodle ooh well done on the losses so far! Exciting

OP posts:
Freshersfluforyou · 01/10/2024 16:35

Im really surprised you've continued to be able to get it OP? Like surely a point must come a few months ago when you were a healthy weight or certainly not overweight enough to be prescribed a weight loss drug anymore, how did you manage to keep getting it?
