I know I'm a bore with my (semi) regular updates but I'm so happy today (not in general tbh but about this specifically right now Grin)

I've lost 70 lbs as of today! 5 whole stone! Never thought I'd be able to do it again.

Started at just under 15 stone and I'm now 9 stone 13. Eeek. It's taken 6 months, just over.

And no, that's not a scarf round my waist in the second pic

I've just seen a weight beginning with 9 on the scales!!!

Yes my menopause symptoms weren’t too bad apart from brain fog, fatigue, not feeling like me and osteoporosis and dementia in family history so looking at the evidence it seemed to be worthwhile long term benefits but once weight has come off might consider stopping it and see how I go as my appetite definitely seemed to increase once I started it.

Im really surprised you've continued to be able to get it OP? Like surely a point must come a few months ago when you were a healthy weight or certainly not overweight enough to be prescribed a weight loss drug anymore, how did you manage to keep getting it?

Maintenance doses are offered by increasing numbers of places now. Once you're down at a healthy BMI, they will continue to prescribe, and check in with you to see how things are. Some people taper down and off entirely, others just stay on a low dose.

For some people they may well stay on it for life, just like other medications that control other things.

@Freshersfluforyou I was overweight just 6 lbs ago! I'm quite short at 5 ft 3 and a bit

Medexpress will prescribe until a bmi of 23 ish so I am well within prescribing rules etc etc

@Freshersfluforyou and just to add - no, you can't rock up with a bmi of 25 or whatever and get it. My starting bmi was almost 36. You stay on it until you are a healthy bmi and then there is a potential
Option to remain on a maintenance dose but that's still under discussion

I don't personally plan to take a maintenance dose
