Are you all on pills /implants who are bleeding or just normal bleeds once a month

Wonder if they will add on extra possible symptoms if they read these threads

Pinkjenny · 27/09/2024 17:50

I'm not on any contraception. I sent a message to the Zavamed doctors who told me that this isn't a known side effect, so if it isn't normal for me, then I should go and see the GP.

Seems odd though, that it's happening to a few of us if it's not the MJ. That said, I have experienced this before and assumed it was just perimenopause given my age.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2024 17:53

Well seems to me if lots of this aug thread mention bad /heavy /long periods then it is a possible Side effect and they should update their side effects to possible menstrual bleeding

I'm not on the Pill. I'm 54 and have been perimenopausal for years now, with periods being a bit erratic. But never had this prolonged bleeding before, at least it's light.

There's loads of posts on Reddit about Mounjaro having an affect on your periods. One poor woman has been bleeding for months (nothing sinister going on, she's had all the tests).

MabelSpan · 27/09/2024 18:10

I tweaked my HRT almost 6 months ago and have been bleeding ever since (it can take 6 months to settle). If I continue to bleed into next month then I will be firmly putting it down to the mj messing things up even more! 🙁

My 4th 2.5 jab is due tomorrow so hoping I’m back to where I was before I went on holiday! 12 st 8 … hopefully less as for the last 2 days I’ve not felt hungry at all so have struggled to eat around 1200 cals of nutritious food . I could probably have fairly easily scoffed 1200 calls of rubbish .. but unusually have found it fairly easy to resist.

12 st 7 this morning , so lost the holiday/water weight plus a lb. Only 4lb lost overall in these 3 weeks, but happy with that.

SW (an 2024) 13 st 13.

MJ SW 12:11
CW 12: 7

GW 10 st or thereabouts.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2024 18:31

I feel blessed no bleeding

I was always every 28 days till July when I was 51

Had no periods since then so guess entering the menopause

TheGirlWithGlassFeet · 27/09/2024 18:59

Thanks for all the replies about the period. It has reassured me. I did see the GP about it and he thought it could be the MJ as new medications can cause changes but wants to review in a couple of weeks.

HamAlive · 27/09/2024 19:47

I did my 4th 5mg jab yesterday. Unsettled stomach today 💩 2lb down this week.

I have a bottomless brunch tomorrow but I'm worried about the alcohol. I didn't really drink pre-MJ, and when I tried a cocktail a couple of weeks ago I couldn't finish it and felt so ill. But this has been booked in for ages and the friends I'm going with don't know I'm on MJ.

Wingingit11 · 27/09/2024 20:09

Im coming up for jab day and interested if people have varied jab site and its had an effect? I’ve always done thighs but contemplating going crazy (!! And stomach this time of it’s higher suppression. ?!

Always jab in my stomach but I seem to be bruising quite a bit since after the first couple of jabs

HamAlive · 27/09/2024 20:20

Always in my stomach, I've bruised maybe 3 times out of 9. Bit red and itchy the last couple of times but not this time yet.

Timetochange24 · 27/09/2024 20:23

Stomach so far. I didn't bruise at all the first couple of weeks but the last two I have.

lookathatbookcase · 27/09/2024 20:28

Always thighs, rotating each week. Can't explain it but the thought of injecting into my stomach really unsettles me.

owlyboo · 27/09/2024 20:29

Done my thigh once but every other stomach

eeeeeeeee · 27/09/2024 20:30

I use my stomach too. I don’t know why, but I feel my thigh might be more sensitive, so I’m like the opposite of @lookathatbookcase haha

as an aside, did anyone watch the ITV documentary about Mounjaro last night? I might watch it later.

cosylife · 27/09/2024 20:36

I use my stomach as well - I spent months during my pregnancy injecting blood thinners into my stomach so I’m old hat at it now 😂

Ive had PMS for the last 3 days and still no period. Due on today so hoping it turns up so it can go away sooner.

owlyboo · 27/09/2024 20:39

My weigh in is tomorrow but today I had a big NSV I needed a couple of oversized t shirts to wear with leggings for my walks so I popped into new look.

Alongside the t shirts I picked up a non stretch denim skirt and some cargos... I've been having to buy 18s which if I'm honest haven't always fit but I also picked up the 16s just in case and the 16s not only fit but were comfy fitting so I didn't actually buy them as I figured a month or so they wouldn't fit!!! Wow!

As in the 18s were to small!

Wingingit11 · 27/09/2024 20:52

Thanks - might give stomach a try. Wierdly I too have bruised last week whereas I’ve not had any issues berries.

I've always done my arm - I feel queasy at the idea of stomach or thigh and like I'm doing something illegal. 😂😂

I had a coil fitted 18 months ago for heavy bleeding (perimenopause), and I have had occasional spotting, but I did not have anything until last week when I had light spotting for a few days. So maybe the MJ but there is so much s**t we have to deal with as women could be anything 🙄

Yes I watched it, wasn’t that cracking tbh. Just how long you have to wait via gp to get it and then how easily other skinny jabs are available online via the black market etc x
