@Blondeshavemorefun Yes, very tired and not sleeping. Last night was sick after starting 5mg

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/10/2024 19:21

Bless you. I know I keep saying this

So weird how effects us differently

You were all shocked that I double dosed and had 10 as did bonus dose as well and I wasn't ill at all and FINALLY have experienced suppression

Where you and others can't get to 5 and do 3.75/4 and suffer awful sickness etx

eeeeeeeee · 03/10/2024 19:27

I’m going to a friend’s baby shower soon and I don’t know what to wear. I think everyone will be in dresses but I think I still want to keep my figure/arms covered. Any ideas?

Manypaws · 03/10/2024 19:29

Wide trousers and a floaty top are usually flattering

Do you want to wear a dress ?

Or a long top and trousers ?

ChunkyMunky · 03/10/2024 19:44

Just caught up with the last few days. Great news for @Blondeshavemorefun finally getting that suppression.

I’ve had a really awful week, been so poorly. Don’t know if it was MJ, something else, or a combination of the two but it’s been horrendous. I am due dose 3 of 5mg tonight but I’m not taking it. I’ve barely managed 1000 calories so far this week, I’m weak, tired and lightheaded. I need to get myself settled before I consider any more jabs.

Have had lots of comments about weight loss, but all with a concerned “you must be really sick” tone.

I’m going to spend a few days (or more if necessary) trying to build my strength back up. If I jab again I’m going to go back down to 2.5mg.

On a positive note, had my period bang on time and it only lasted 2 days, so that’s good, as I don’t think I could cope with a heavy one on top of all of this.

JoyousSwan · 03/10/2024 20:48

I've had a strange week this week. Feel like I've been bloated all week. Had more food noise - fancied foods that I've not had since starting MJ but not had any and not found it that hard not to have them! Just keep having random thoughts about food popping into my head! Strange! I've also felt more emotional and tired! Maybe it's just hormones!! I took my 4th 5mg last weekend and will do the bonus dose this weekend.

itwasnevermine · 03/10/2024 16:00

I am

@Arraminta I think I will too - due to order next week. What I’m finding interesting is portion size due to the suppression. I’ve just had a protein bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon and half and avocado and I’m stuffed. I’d have previously eaten that as a snack not aa evening meal 😳😳

itwasnevermine · 03/10/2024 21:10

@Mum0ntherun yes I had some chicken and a few fries for dinner and I was stuffed! Not a healthy choice at all but it's been a draining week 😅

Food is still very much tied to emotions for us all still in a way that many people (inc my DH) just don’t get. I’ve been struggling to find a new job all year - was made redundant - and with all the worry and stress I’ve been eating so much but the MJ has meant that I’m now not which is great for the waist but I do miss the emotional support of a large bag of crisps or an entire tub of ice cream (or both) 😆😆

itwasnevermine · 03/10/2024 21:28

@Mum0ntherun I'm the same, I used to binge eat when I was stressed and now I just can't, but breaking those ties to food will take longer

Has anyone seen this yet? It’s the final draft of NHS England’s approach to rolling out MJ:

Thanks for posting this, really interesting.
I’m on 3 different medications for hypertension & I’ve noticed a drop in my BP readings already. I’m hoping once I’ve lost weight I’ll reduce my meds to 2 & not 3.

20bloodypounds · 03/10/2024 21:37

@eeeeeeeee I bought this recently www.seasaltcornwall.com/fal-water-long-sleeve-printed-tunic Sea Salt Printed Tunic I am a short apple shape and I found it really flattering. It's stiff cotton, so not clingy, and it's got pockets!

Wore it with stretchy jeans (small person so can't wear wide legged trousers!)

@ChunkyMunky that sounds really tough! Do you think 5mg is a bit too much? At the moment, you need to concentrate on your core health and nutrition, weight loss is not your prioirty this week. Soups, eggs, small and often. Then when you are feeling stable and settled start again at 2.5mg for a week or two, and increase gradually from there. Keep well.

MargoLivebetter · 03/10/2024 21:55

@Mum0ntherun I have really struggled with the inability to comfort eat. I hadn't appreciated how much I soothed all difficult emotions with food.

I stopped binging years ago after a couple of years of counselling. It was an unintended side effect. TBH up until 7 weeks ago I hadn't acknowledged that all the little snacks were my way of coping with my emotions.

Mum0ntherun · 03/10/2024 22:07

@MargoLivebetter I’m just learning exactly that. I need to find something else to replace it or I’ll be back to doing that again once I lessen or come off MJ.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/10/2024 22:41

@ChunkyMunky sounds a bad week for you 🥲

Light headed isn't good but obv if you Havnt eaten much then not getting the energy from food

Sounds like 5 is too much for you so go back to 2.5

FlappingMadly · 03/10/2024 22:44

if you’re weak, shivery and tired you really need to get your blood sugar checked.

Wingingit11 · 04/10/2024 04:59

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/10/2024 16:18

We are going split then

Think @Glittermoonlight @eeeeeeeee and myself are 7.5

Not sure if any others

From when the first thread aug started seems not many of us still doing it

Sorry just caught up on thread - I need to decide if go 7:5 at wkd after 6 last wkd. Annoyingly have a 5 and 7.5 in fridge but might do 5 by syringe draw

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2024 06:23

You have so many in the fridge @Wingingit11

How were you on 6?

Brave enough to fry 7.5?

Wingingit11 · 04/10/2024 06:25

I swapped suppliers after just buying last!
I was on 5. Finishes that one drawing which equated to 6mg

Weigh day today. 4.5lbs off this week for a total loss of 2.5 stone in 7 weeks. Last week of my 5mg and then I'm doing a 2nd month on 5mg as it seems to be working well after my awful week of d and v which I'm now suspecting was actually Norovirus rather than side effects!

Willowy1982 · 04/10/2024 06:46

I hear you all on the coping mechanisms. I had such a stressful day at work yesterday and I'd usually be snacking all day and grabbing chocolate here and there. By 5pm there was no where for the stress to go, so I went to the gym! I know, I know...what a cliché. I'm not usually an evening exercising either, as I'm usually too exhausted and fed up in the evenings. I didn't even go for long, did about 10 mins on the cross trainer and a couple of weight machines and that was enough! I would usually convince myself it wasn't worth going just for such a short time. But it broke that cycle of 'needing something' to take the edge off.

ChunkyMunky · 04/10/2024 06:51

Thanks all, I managed some soup yesterday evening and although I had a few rumbles and a bit of cramping, I did manage to get through the night without any more vomiting or diarrhoea. I know the tiredness is just down to lack of calories, but feel like I need to build myself up gradually as a big portion at this point would probably kick it all off again. Nibbling dry cereal now and hoping for a better day.

FlappingMadly · 04/10/2024 07:15

Comfort food eating is a worry for me. We’ve been through a long (2 years) of restructuring and redundancies. That’s just the latest of stressful events. I realise I was in a cycle of staying up very late, high cortisol and eating crisps almost in a trance.
Now I’m started garden leave it’s like all the stress has evaporated or is that the MJ? I really don’t know. We also don’t have it in the house but at some point I’m going to have to make choices. Nervous about weigh in cos I had a big dinner last night. Need to avoid sabotaging myself with fu@k it thoughts.
Jab day today. Think I will do 5 rather than 4 mg.

I've been about from start too, just taken my 1st 7.5 today. I've been really lucky and effects have mainly been being sooo cold and yup the returning period but if that's it and I can finally lose the weight then I'll take it. Hopefully haven't jinxed myself for this one 😅
