Morning everyone!

Monday morning weigh in and jab day for me.
I have reduced my dose from 5mg to 3.75mg today because of the nausea. Depending on how I am feeling towards the end of the week, I may top up to the full 5mg if I feel I need it or stick with 3.75mg if all is going well.

SW - 20st 3lbs on 14th Aug 24
CW - 18st 9.2lbs on 30th Sept 24
WL - 2.4lbs
TL - 1st 7.8lbs
5mg wk2/wk7 - 2.4lbs 5mg wk1/wk6 4.2lbs
Wk5 bonus 3.25mg - 2.8lbs
2.5mg wk4 - 2.6lbs wk3 - 2.4lbs wk2 - no loss wk1 - 7.4lbs

weaseleyes · 30/09/2024 13:10

Well done @MabelSpan ! Nice steady losses there, and hopefully less nausea to come. I still haven't got above 3.75 as I fear the nausea and find the occasional faint queasiness more than enough.

AuntieDote · 30/09/2024 13:13

Morning all.

Weighed this morning - was quite a big loss, but I think it may well bounce back up again were I to weigh again tomorrow or later in the week, I am full of an absolutely stinking cold and sore throat and struggled to get anything down at all yesterday. Today I've had to force down a crumpet as wanted to take some painkillers and couldn't do it on an empty stomach - couldn't face any of my usual higher protein options so this was the best I could do. Need to go eat again now, not sure what I'll manage.

Anyway, that aside it was a nice surprise to see! I can't really remember what I was last week but think I'm down about 3 or 4lbs on that.

Overall stats:
SW - 15 stone 2 lbs
CW - 13 stone 10 lbs

So 1 stone and 6lbs lost. Also, bumped into my neighbour this morning and she commented that I looked like I'd lost a lot of weight - I do feel like it's starting to be noticeable now, and unlike other times when I've lost weight the bulk of this seems to have come off my belly which is amazing - usually takes quite a bit more to get that to go down! Still definitely a size 18 in most things - I got myself a new raincoat in a 16, because it was the one I wanted and they didn't have the next size up. It fits and does the job but still a little snugger than I'd like. Hopefully will be ok in a few weeks though.

MabelSpan · 30/09/2024 13:45

Thank you @weaseleyes yes, the nausea and queasiness is really annoying isnt it! I thought it would get me in the end as I tend to respond really oddly to lots of meds and have to take cyclizine with any opiod based painkillers, so its not a surprise that I started feeling nauseous on mj. Maybe we will be lucky and able to contine losing well on the lower doses!😊

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 13:47

@MabelSpan and @weaseleyes you are def lucky to respond to lower doses

MabelSpan · 30/09/2024 13:47

@AuntieDote Congratulations on your losses, neighbour compliment and the new raincoat! 😊

MabelSpan · 30/09/2024 13:52

@Blondeshavemorefun yes, it really is strange how we are all so very different. I hate to think how I would have reacted to a big dose like yours the other day, and yet youre doing fine!
Its making me think that more notice/consdieration should be taken by GPs etc when prescribing, that they do so tailored to that individual, instead of just another "body", be it painkillers, HRT, weight loss jabs etc.
We are all unique!😊

Wingingit11 · 30/09/2024 13:59

@Blondeshavemorefun definitely sounds like you’ve decided anyway have suppression. Tbh if you didn’t on that dose I’d be questioning the finances of continuing! Though I do think this relies on a majority amount of willpower too anyway.(for me anyway!!)

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 14:42

Yep I'm fine @MabelSpan

10 would open put you in hospital lol with how you have suffered and can't even handle 5

I ate my salad lunch with no issues today

Not sure if I have suppression or not today 😂 as didn't leave half of it like tea last night

And yes def interesting how doses are diff for people

At 16.3 starting weight I need to lose 4/5 stone to get a low bmi

I can't imagine I would ever get to 20

And will be more 24/25 as would look ill at 9st like they say

@Wingingit11 agree it's a big cost tbh and I do query it monthly

@AuntieDote congrats on weight loss and new coat

weaseleyes · 30/09/2024 14:59

Am envious of @AuntieDote's new coat! I have been resolving to myself for years that I will buy a new coat, but only when I've lost all the weight I want to. The trouble is, whenever I've previously lost all the weight, it's been in summer and it's not easy to buy a coat. By winter, I've always put it on again!

Coats I have now:

  • a nice fitted woollen jacket that zips up, about a size 12. This is my marker of being an acceptable size. When I'm at my best weight it's quite loose. It's about 25 years old, and I've only had about 3-4 years of being able to wear it with the zip done up since I gave birth nearly 20 years ago!
  • a rather hideous polyester mix jacket which is a looser fit with two buttons. I hate it! It's about a size 22 and I got it when I couldn't even get the woollen jacket on, let alone zip it up. It's very unattractive and when things have been very bad I haven't been able to do the buttons up. It gives very little protection against cold or rain, the lining is shredded and it has the odd paint stain.

I refused to buy another big size coat, as that was just admitting defeat, and I wouldn't buy an in between coat as that felt like wasting money when I was aiming for woollen jacket again. Consequently I have spent years freezing in the hideous big jacket as I refuse to give in and buy another one till I'm woollen jacket size once more. I'm not sure I'll get to woollen jacket size before the winter is out!

What makes this even more stupid is I'm not even much interested in clothes, am not hoping for a fancy designer coat, and my ultimate aim is just to get something like a supermarket puffa jacket so I have an alternative option to the woollen jacket which I can wear a jumper under. I wish I could convert my sheer stubbornness into determination to stick to a diet.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 16:48

Oh bless you @weaseleyes Yes I have a lovely coat that is 12. Not sure I still have it. Will hunt in wardrobe

I bought a coat that was 20 from charity shop for £8 and wear that

It's too big for me now but refuse to buy a coat just for this winter as hopefully next winter be back to 14

Maybe not a 12

Or my raincoat which was my NSV and does up easily over boobs

FlappingMadly · 30/09/2024 18:08

Hi, 3 days after my second 4mg jab and I had low level heart burn today. I had a small bowl of muesli this morning & hoped a long walk would sort it out, but nope Last night we had chicken fajitas. I had one bite and felt full but want to model a healthy approach so continued. Felt really uncomfortable all evening and think has caused the heart burn. Am resisting from weighing until jab day on Friday.

Well done all on losses! The NSV’s rock too!
In a fit of optimism I tried on my velvet trousers, but still can’t get past my knees.

@doodle wondering how you’re doing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 18:59

@FlappingMadly those titty kisses will fit one day

Just as mine will. I haven't even tried them on

I may do tonight to see how much I can't get into them 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 19:00

Wtf

Titty kisses

That's a weird iphone spell swap 😂😂😂

NippyCrab · 30/09/2024 19:22

😂😂😂 omg that made me laugh out loud, cheered my chops up.x

weaseleyes · 30/09/2024 19:25

I was thinking, 'I'm glad someone knows where I'm coming from with the coat nonsense', then I read about the titty kisses and thought perhaps we're not on the same page after all... 😀

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 19:42

I'm on the same page. Obv my phone isn't 😂

What is more worrying is where that phrase came from

Been no titty kissing here !!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 22:16

Not sure these have enough protein. Says 9 per pot for think 124g

The Lidl one on right is nice and filling and is 20 but almost double

So guess like for like with weight there isn't a huge amount inbetween

I don't want 200g of yog. It's a lot

😂😂😂 titty kisses!

I know

🙀😳🙀😳🙀😳

Timetochange24 · 01/10/2024 03:17

For a moment I thought titty kisses was some kind of fashion slang that I was completely oblivious to 🤣

Wingingit11 · 01/10/2024 06:41

So funny. shall I change thread 6 times to that for code 😅
I feel quite off food on 6mg ! Makes me wonder if that’s a good dose for me as a step to 7.5 but can you syringe the pens midway without ruining their seal ? Is that the same as other needles?!

I would check the sugar content and go by that. Should be less than 10g per 100.
