Welcome! Mine is at the back of my underwear drawer 😂

Doesn't it need to be kept in the fridge??

raspberrymeringue · 24/09/2024 14:56

@mimosa1
Please come back and say how you got on with your low dose. Effectiveness and side effects? I would love to carry on but can’t risk ruining the holiday,

GingerLiberalFeminist · 24/09/2024 14:57

Hi all, I'm at the end of week 2 on moujaro and wanted to know if anyone has noticed excess sweating?

BeautyPageantDropout · 24/09/2024 14:59

violetsunrise · 24/09/2024 13:32

Ordered my 5mg pen yesterday and thanks to no tracking update from the courier I missed the delivery this morning. Now it’s going to be redelivered tomorrow! Will the pen be ok to use next Monday? Surely the wee cool/ice pack things won’t last til tomorrow.

My pen was delivered to my office last Saturday and I didn’t get it until Monday morning by which stage the ice packs were of course melted. But from doing some googling I don’t think it will adversely effect the pen. It only seems to be an issue if it’s been sitting in a temp of 30 degrees or more. And once the pen has been used for the first time they even say it doesn’t need to be refrigerated.

Whereisthewine · 24/09/2024 15:01

@KittyGetSmall you can keep it anywhere once open as long as it's under 30degrees (not an issue in Scotland where I am!)

violetsunrise · 24/09/2024 15:05

Yes after first use I stuffed mine in the back of a drawer so nobody else in the house would come across it. I’ll cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Yes I have a bit.

alwaysscared · 24/09/2024 15:15

I've just spoken to my diabetic nurse and they have decided to keep me on 2.5 for another month. Not sure how I feel about this because I'm in my 3rd week and feeling quite hungry this week, having to resist food and I don't want that to continue for another 5 weeks!
But, scared to go up to 5 because I'm worried about side effects.
I have lost 10lbs so far, the losing is definitely lessening, which is to be expected but will them keeping me on 2.5 mean that weight loss will halt??

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/09/2024 16:52

Spoke with diabetes nurse today and they've prescribed my 5mg pen for next week, but have advised that the advice for diabetes treatment is to then stick to 5mg for at least 3 months unless sugars are unstable and need further reduction so that will likely be the highest dose I'll be prescribed.

I'm hoping the appetite suppression and lack of side effects continue with the higher dose. I'd love the weight to fall off quicker but I'm losing 2-3 lbs a week at the moment which I'm content with.

20bloodypounds · 24/09/2024 16:58

@alwaysscared I think it is important to follow your nurse's advice and to trust her. Presumably this is about more than weight loss for you, it is also about managing your blood sugar levels. If your nurse is suggesting taking this gradually then that seems like a sensible things to do to manage your diabetes.

Regarding weight loss: most people, on any kind of weight loss regime, lose more at the beginning and then loss settles down to between 1 and 3 lbs per week. That is a healthy rate to lose weight.

Even if you are feeling a little more hungry, and you still managing to make sensible choices? Are you eating smaller portions when you do eat?

20bloodypounds · 24/09/2024 17:01

@InfoSecInTheCity your weight probably didn't go on at 2-3 lbs per week, so it's unlikely to come off much faster!

True that. Like I say, I'm content with the 2-3 lb a week and with knowing that some weeks that will be nothing, or even a gain. I tend to look at the longer term average and try to see beyond just the immediate weight.

It would be bloody lovely to wake up thin tomorrow morning though 😀

mimosa1 · 24/09/2024 17:09

@raspberrymeringue i will definitely report back though tonight / tomorrow is d-day in terms of side effects if last week's pattern holds. So far suppression has been a bit less but definitely OK.

alwaysscared · 24/09/2024 17:25

@20bloodypounds yes, I'm still managing to stick to smaller portions and I'm not snacking. My sugars are perfect at the moment, so much so that I have had to come off all other medication for diabetes!

i had similar - i ordered Friday and it was dispatched that night, and delivered monday. i asked medexpress and they said it would be fne as long as below 30 degrees( no danger of that !)

I’m the same, just been prescribed the 5mg after a phone call today, just hoping the side effects will be ok. My nurse said most people don’t go beyond 5mg in her experience
@alwaysscared I’m surprised they’re keeping you at 2.5mg as my nurse said the manufacturers guidelines are to keep people at 5mg or 10mg and not leave them on .5mg doses (i.e. 2.5mg or 7.5mg)

SweetAndCrispy · 24/09/2024 17:43

I’ve done my first injection today! Have left myself with a bruise so need to make sure that DH doesn’t see it as I’m not telling him about this. I’m praying this finally works for me. I’m still feeling hungry so assume I need to wait for it to get into my system? Hopefully I’ll start to feel something tomorrow 🤞

theluckiest · 24/09/2024 18:20

Me too @SweetAndCrispy!

Well, I'm about to do my first jab. Slightly worried but mostly excited.

Got my parcel delivered to work (finally!). I'm about to read the blurb and get jabbing

SW: 15 stone exactly.

Here we go!

SecondDesk · 24/09/2024 18:32

Well-done on losing your tyre @SpottyBumPony. I am a week behind you and have lost a chihuahua or 2.5kg (5.5lbs). +10kg loss is amazing.

I have been disappointed with my weight loss so far. this week, I have been doing intermittent fasting as well as restricting calories. Mostly to see if it makes a difference. I injected in my stomach rather than my thigh. It is harder than I thought it would be.

Antihistamine62 · 24/09/2024 19:13

Marking my place here.
start tomorrow… feeling apprehensive but something has to change. A busy mum with 3 under 3 and zero time to myself. So easy to snack and eat rubbish.
wish me luck

I read on a thread, maybe even this one, that you bruise easier if direct from the fridge. I get a bruise so will leave it out 30 mins next time and see if it makes a difference.

theluckiest · 24/09/2024 19:22

I'm jabbed and done.

Quick q - do I need to keep the pen in the fridge? I have read the instructions which say not but as there was such a to-do about keeping the box cool, I'm unsure...

doodleschnoodle · 24/09/2024 19:32

No, once it's used for the first time it just needs to be kept under 30 degrees, so you can keep it in a drawer. It just needs to be refrigerated till first use as that starts the 30-day clock.
