@mimosa1 some people on another thread are taking the 5mg dose as twice weekly 2.5mgs to avoid extreme side effects. Perhaps once you feel stable and ready to move up you could take your 1.25mg every 4 days...?
@Purplehearts757 I think a full dose is 60 clicks, 30 is a half dose and 15 is a quarter dose - 0.0625mg, total 0.3125.
@peonym the more you read of the various threads the more you will see how much of a variation there is between individuals. There is variation in side effects, appetite suppression, weight loss, mood. It doesnt seem related to starting weight, side effects don't always correlate with appetite suppression, there is not always faster weight loss if you start from a higher weight. It really is about individual metabolism of food and the medication. Some people experience such terrible side effects that they drop back to a sub-clinical dose (les than 2.5mg), and if you read some older threads there are people who don't feel really good appetite suppression until they are on 10mg or 12.5mg. As with all weight loss regimes you can't compare exactly with anyone else, you have to get it right for your own body.
@Sampler in my experience with NHS prescribed medication for other health issues, NHS doctors have neither the time nor the freedom to make much variation to standardised dosage regimes despite the massive variation in side effects etc. For example if I take the recommended dose of blood pressure meds I feel lightheaded. If I take none my bp fluctuates wildly. If I take a half dose my bp is stable and I feel fine. My GP can't prescribe a half dose because it is 'not clinically effective' (except it is for me!). So I am prescribed the standard dose and I break each tablet in half.
