And that's why you need 1ml syringes and needles.

That was what I was asking, whether it is possible to get the last bit out without the syringe, and counting clicks. Doesn't sound like it, so I will order some syringes.

Anyone got a link to suitable ones on amazon?

TheShellBeach · 01/09/2024 12:42

AuntieDote · 01/09/2024 12:08

But turning it to 1 will still be 2.5ml however much is left - if there’s more than that it would just stay in the pen wouldn’t it?

It's 2.5mg, not 2.5ml.

The whole unused pen only contains about 3ml - that's four doses plus the bonus.

I've found there's about 0.3ml left, which is another 1.25mg of MJ.

I'm not wasting such an expensive drug.

TheShellBeach · 01/09/2024 12:43

And the quantity left varies, simply dependent on how much you use when you prime the pen.

No problem!

I took my first 5mg dose on Friday night and I am absolutely starving today. I've had a pot of protein porridge for breakfast and a slice of Polish bread with an egg as a snack elevenses as I was so hungry and I can't stop thinking about food, I've been clockwatching for lunch for the last hour. I really hope 5 isn't always like this for me as 2.5 was much better, no food noise on that.

No side effects on either dose though.

WitchDancer · 01/09/2024 13:05

I've done my bonus dose this morning, using insulin needles. I confess it was harder than the pen with the needle a lot longer than on the pen. I managed to draw off .8ml but I did get some leaking out while injecting. I'm trying to work out what dose I ended up with. Any suggestions please?

What strength pen?
The 2.5mg one?

0.8ml of that is 3.33mg of MJ.

That's the exact amount I got out of my first pen, too.

WitchDancer · 01/09/2024 13:17

Thank you @TheShellBeach! Yes, 2.5.

Just caught up - thanks for new thread!

I’ve done my midweek weigh and looks like I’ve lost another 2lb so far, hoping for another 1/2lb this week. I’m up to 9lb lost so far! 😌 week 2. Jab on weds.

I’ve decided to not use the bonus dose of 2.5mg but move straight to 5 and go from there. Still having plenty of suppression and finding I’m doing best having yoghurt/granola for breakie, a protein shake and fruit for lunch and a normal tea of protein/veg. That’s enough for me! Typically having around 1100-1300 cals a day.

weaseleyes · 01/09/2024 14:41

I’m out today and didn’t have much available for lunch. I decided to have a piece of toast. This is my first piece of bread since I started, as I usually need to avoid flour and sugar to lose weight, and bread is my over-eating nemesis. I can report it was very underwhelming and is currently sitting in my stomach like a rock. On the one hand this is reassuring - one slice hasn’t tipped me over into bread monsterdom - on the other, I fear the potential for it’s intestinal revenge.

Willowy1982 · 01/09/2024 15:08

Just checking in. Another 2lb loss this week putting my total at 8lb. I'm pleased with that after a big whoosh last week. I'm nearly into the next stone bracket. I just feel so good about myself. Third 2.5mg jab due on Wednesday.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/09/2024 15:27

I'm hungry today. Wondering is 2.5 too low and body used to it Obv have one more dose on Fri then following week will be 5

I think you’re mad to not consider using the bonus dose, especially as you’re still losing and are happy with the suppression. It’s usually more than the 2.5mg dose - I got about 3mg- so a good bridge to moving up.

Just place marking, I've missed so much! Will catch up and read through all the posts later this evening.

Remember that 5mg is the treatment dose. The 2.5mg one is to get your body acclimatised to tirzepatide.

SilverSprings510 · 01/09/2024 15:55

@Addictedtobeauty I get that, but I don’t have any needles or anything anyway, and seems a bit of a faff to be honest. Might be wrong.

Addictedtobeauty · 01/09/2024 16:01

@SilverSprings510 I get it. long term, you might change your mind. It was really easy to do. Anyway, didn’t mean to interfere. You do you, and keep smashing it.

Choux · 01/09/2024 16:12

This is what MedExpress says to expect with each dose. Some people find the effects much stronger but not feeling much on smaller doses is perfectly normal.

Guess it's the only time it doubles the dose

Where all go up 2.5 each time but is a smaller increased compared to dose 1 and 2.5

SilverSprings510 · 01/09/2024 16:22

@Addictedtobeauty not interfering at all! I’d just like to get up to 5mg - plan to order some needles with my 5mg pen and use the bonus dose there, whether or not I decide to go up to 7.5 or not! 😊

MidLifeResurgence74 · 01/09/2024 16:35

Appetite suppression is so strong today that even seeing social posts about food makes me feel 🤮. Week 4, jab 4 done on Thursday. Yet yesterday I felt hungry and as if I could eat what I liked! It’s such a rollercoaster. I know that 48-72 hours post jab tends to be the strongest for me. Thank you to the kind person who shared the link to the anti-nausea medication!

TrappedPotato · 01/09/2024 16:35

How do you inject with the insulin-type syringes? The needle is longer - does it still go all the way in like with the pen?
