Well done for all the losses and NSVs, well done all!

I've just done my first 5mg injection. Really hoping I don't get any major side effects.

SW 16st 10
CW 15st 9.5

So 1 stone lost on the 2.5mg. I'm just loving not constantly thinking about food, or overeating even when not hungry. This must be what people mean when they say they forgot to eat lunch or they're not hungry, or they didn't fancy something sweet. It's liberating! I've lost weight by myself before but since covid it's all gone back on and I've never managed to stick to it. This feels so good!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/09/2024 20:04

@Timetochange24 ikwym. I got down to 10.10 on sw but couldn't keep it there and looked gaunt

I look better at 11.5/12s but that puts me at overweight

8st 7 wouid make my bmi 18.5 which is apparently healthy

I would prob die to get to that weight

That's 2stone less then What I was my lowest and I looked gaunt then

@Fourfurrymonsters hopefully we all will. This is just a month for us

I said initially get to Xmas so 4/5mths and see how we all are

@HamAlive no side effects yet for me on 5

These are amazing. From Lidl. About 80p I think. Very thick. Creamy. Filling

I know there have been a few posts about periods but has anyone else experienced longer than usual periods? I've lost count but I've been bleeding for around 10 days now with no sign of stopping.

Fourfurrymonsters · 06/09/2024 21:19

My oldest friend and I were on the phone last night and somehow ended up booking a break to Malta in November. So I have ten weeks or so. If I could lose a stone between now and then it would put me at the lightest I’ve been for at least 12 years, so I’d be happy with that. Next goal is a year away when my daughter gets married. I have 4 stone to lose in total. Tomorrow is first weigh-in! Fingers crossed for me 🙌

Choux · 06/09/2024 21:33

You WILL reach those goals @Fourfurrymonsters.

Today is 6 months since my first Mounjaro jab and I'm so happy I started using it.

I haven't been the fastest loser due to life getting in the way - my 2 week summer holiday meant almost a month of going up 7lbs and then back down again - but today I got under 11 st for the first time!!! I'm also so close to:
Hitting a 2.5 stone loss (0.4lbs to go)
Getting to a healthy BMI (3.6lbs to go) and
Hitting my target weight (13.6lbs to go)

I am now ready for a focussed autumn and when I hit my goal I will have undone 14 years of steady weight gain - 47 pounds gained and 48 pounds will by then have been lost!

Am so grateful Mounjaro exists to help me get back to a healthy BMI. It's a bloody miracle drug and I can't stop smiling!

Here's my weight loss with all the summer spikes and the lines are where I am now aiming to stay.

Congrats, @Choux, it's lovely to hear you sounding so positive! Six months is nothing set against 14 years. I shall tell myself to remember that when things feel slow and less novel than they do now.

I'm not at that point yet but a while back when I signed up to a low carb diet programme, it changed my cycle for the first month then they settled into a much more predictable rhythm (shorter, clearer starts and finishes, exactly 28 days) so I'm fully expecting a change again this time.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/09/2024 21:44

@Choux what bmi do you want to get to?

A healthy one is 18.5 - 24

As I said earlier for me to get to 18.5 I would look awful and tbh prob wouldn't manage it

Where as 24 I could

I had a bank fraud message this evening. The transaction that alerted them (while I was steaming broccoli) was uber eats. I wish 🤣🤣

HamAlive · 06/09/2024 21:59

@Choux that's absolutely fantastic, you've done so well!

I'm currently aiming for 10st which would be a BMI of 23.3.

I'm starting weight training now to build muscle so I think that will slow my losses down more. But that's ok as more muscle will mean a higher BMR and make it easier to maintain. And when I get there I will start to titrate down - a bit like slowly lifting stabilizers off a kids bike!

Is anyone worried about stretch marks? I know I’m prone to them, had loads on my arms, thighs and stomach as I gained weight…

Mydietstartstomorrow · 07/09/2024 06:30

Hi, sorry to jump on thread but can’t find a Wegovy thread and wondered if anyone on here had experience? I had my first Wegovy jab 0.25 on Wednesday and nothing apart from a headache for the first couple of days. No change to appetite or how much I eat at all. Do these jabs take time to work or are they instant? I’m on a starting dose for 2 weeks then can up but I’m being impatient!

Azuresky68 · 07/09/2024 06:56

@Choux do you mind me asking how tall you are? I am 4 foot 11 and the feel the same about my BMI. Last (and only time in adulthood) time I was 7 stone 12 pounds was when I was 21 and that was by very strict dieting...it didn't stay off either! I would be happy at 9 stone 4

Azuresky68 · 07/09/2024 07:01

Good morning. I am starting my 3rd week on 2.5mg but don't know how much I have lost so far as I am abroad on holiday and it was easy to keep away from scales. I usually weigh daily which isn't good for morale. I am usually a slow loser. I will be disappointed if I only lose 4 pounds on first month but trying to be realistic as I was already calorie counting before I started 1400 cals a day and no loss! A lot of people seem to stay on 2 5 mg dose for longer than a month i know you cant give medical advice but curious to know if anyone here doing the same? What happens if I stay on 2.5 for month 2 and it doesn't work..that means a whole month of pain with no gain 😕 Interested to know why people choose not to increase dose?

cosylife · 07/09/2024 07:46

@Mydietstartstomorrow start a new thread, you’ll reach more people who are on wegovy as everyone on this thread is on Mounjaro. With MJ it depends on the individual, some people have suppression within a few hours and some need to dose up.

@Azuresky68 Ive lost 1 stone 2lbs in 3 weeks on 2.5 and I’m planning on moving up to 5 next week. I think if your side effects are minimal and you want to increase the possibility of more weight loss then you’d want to look at moving up a dose. Obviously this has to go hand in hand with a calorie deficit though.

I'm only due to take my 3rd dose today so not even very far in. Maybe it's just a weight loss thing then?

Pinkjenny · 07/09/2024 08:27

Well I've just been to loo and when I tell you it was like giving birth Blush

This is my second week though and the second time I've resorted to a laxative having not been to the toilet all week.

I'm doing the fibre supplement daily, does anyone have any other tips for constipation?

I've decided to stay on 2.5 an extra month. I'm halfway through week 5 of 2.5mg. Opted to stay on it because I was often feeling like I couldn't face food, feel really nauseous particularly in the mornings, and I didn't feel I had the energy to do my usual exercise which I absolutely want to continue with!

I've got a bit of appetite back now, and am finding it much easier to eat but get full quicker, and I don't feel sick all the time. I've been ill this week though (covid I think) so not sure if that's impacting anything.

Currently happy with my decision but am apprehensive that I'll struggle a bit towards the end of the 4wks. Def going up to 5 next time!

I'm 5ft 5 in. I was 10stone 14 years ago and then started creeping up 3-5lbs a year.

So I am aiming for that again but now being 14 years older with probably less muscle it might be too hard to a) get there and b) stay there. But if I don't try I'll never know...

ChunkyMunky · 07/09/2024 08:37

Congratulations to everyone reposting losses and NSVs.

My plan to weigh once every 4 weeks has been thwarted, as I realised that I would need to submit my weight to order my next pen, so I’ve weighed a bit early (3.5 weeks).

Starting Weight: 17st 6.7
Current Weight: 16st 5.5

Total Loss: 1st 1.2

Feeling really pleased with that, as I was starting to get nervous that it would be a smaller loss. Absolutely made up to have lost over a stone.

Now onto my next (silly) problem. I’ve not told anyone, including DP, about using MJ. I need to order my next pen, but I’m in work all week and DP will be at home when my delivery comes. ‘Discrete’ packaging is all well and good, but I think the red “refrigerate on delivery” sticker is going to give me away.

I looked at swapping to Asda so I could collect instead, but they’re more expensive than ordering direct from Zava. This is already expensive enough without swapping to a more expensive provider!

So I’m torn… do I order as usual and hope DP doesn’t notice the sticker? Do I pay more and collect one evening after work? Or do I wait until the end of the week to order and hope they deliver next Saturday while I’m home ( Zava don’t let you specify a delivery date)?

I’ve only got my bonus dose left (due Wednesday/ Thursday), so need to decide soon.

Pinkjenny · 07/09/2024 08:55

I lost another 3, just done my third jab.

SW 14.9
CW 14.0

cosylife · 07/09/2024 09:06

@ChunkyMunky can I ask why you don’t want to tell your DP?

I suppose your options are to pay extra so you can collect from Asda and keep it secret from your DP or take the saving and risk him being home when it’s delivered? I think a couple of prescribers offer a choice of days
