@ChunkyMunky can I ask why you don’t want to tell your DP?

I suppose your options are to pay extra so you can collect from Asda and keep it secret from your DP or take the saving and risk him being home when it’s delivered? I think a couple of prescribers offer a choice of days

It’s a combination of quite a few things really.

Partly I’m a bit embarrassed that I couldn’t lose the weight ‘on my own’. I don’t want people assuming that I’ve gone for a short-term quick fix and that the weight will all pile back on the minute I stop the medication.

On top of that, I don’t want to discuss it. I want to do this for me, just me. Not explaining and justifying to others. It feels like my challenge that I just don’t want to let anyone else into.

DP has been following a specific diet plan for a couple of years. He’s very regimented on it, advocates it to anyone that will listen. He is convinced that his way is the way to loose weight. Except I tried it, and it really didn’t suit me at all.

In MJ I feel like I’ve found something that works, but I’m just not ready for public discussion just yet.

MabelSpan · 07/09/2024 09:35

@ChunkyMunky I am with Asda and have a 10% discount code if that would help your decision. PM me if you would like it and I will send it to you.

Hi, sorry to jump on thread but can’t find a Wegovy thread and wondered if anyone on here had experience? I had my first Wegovy jab 0.25 on Wednesday and nothing apart from a headache for the first couple of days. No change to appetite or how much I eat at all. Do these jabs take time to work or are they instant? I’m on a starting dose for 2 weeks then can up but I’m being impatient!

We are on a different drug but some didn't notice any change for a few weeks

The lowest dose is meant to help your body get used to it

@Pinkjenny prunes are excellent to get things moving. I try to remember to eat 4 or 5 a day. Works a treat 😉

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 09:45

And yes I weed every sodding 2hrs

10 12 2 4 6 8

I don't get why this happens each night after I jab for 3/4 nights

It gets better towards end of week and more like 11 3 6/7

Well I've just been to loo and when I tell you it was like giving birth Blush

This is my second week though and the second time I've resorted to a laxative having not been to the toilet all week.

I'm doing the fibre supplement daily, does anyone have any other tips for constipation?

I don't leave it more than one day, then I take either 2 or 4 senna tablets at night.

FlappingMadly · 07/09/2024 10:07

I make food such as shepherds pie (already a lot of veg in my ragu) and with a rough mash of 2 potatos skin on, 1 sweet potato, a parsnip, 2 small turnips. Brussels sprouts and broccoli on the side. No constipation here 🤣

NSV - I now fit through the shower door without my tummy brushing against it.

And on the same lines - when I squeeze past the table, to get to the window, there is now plenty of room for me.

FlappingMadly · 07/09/2024 10:10

@TheShellBeach mega NSVS! Whoop!

Sod it, I’ve ordered my 5mg.

If DP doesn’t ask what’s in the box, then great. If he does, well then I’ll just have to put my big girl knickers on and be honest.

It probably is daft to try and keep it a secret, but I am a massive over thinker, and general stress-head.

Thanks to those that offered codes. I’ve stuck with Zava for now as they seem really competitive on price (even when others are discounted), and I don’t want to mess about with new photos etc.

CatTraveler · 07/09/2024 10:15

ChunkyMunky · 07/09/2024 08:37

Congratulations to everyone reposting losses and NSVs.

My plan to weigh once every 4 weeks has been thwarted, as I realised that I would need to submit my weight to order my next pen, so I’ve weighed a bit early (3.5 weeks).

Starting Weight: 17st 6.7
Current Weight: 16st 5.5

Total Loss: 1st 1.2

Feeling really pleased with that, as I was starting to get nervous that it would be a smaller loss. Absolutely made up to have lost over a stone.

Now onto my next (silly) problem. I’ve not told anyone, including DP, about using MJ. I need to order my next pen, but I’m in work all week and DP will be at home when my delivery comes. ‘Discrete’ packaging is all well and good, but I think the red “refrigerate on delivery” sticker is going to give me away.

I looked at swapping to Asda so I could collect instead, but they’re more expensive than ordering direct from Zava. This is already expensive enough without swapping to a more expensive provider!

So I’m torn… do I order as usual and hope DP doesn’t notice the sticker? Do I pay more and collect one evening after work? Or do I wait until the end of the week to order and hope they deliver next Saturday while I’m home ( Zava don’t let you specify a delivery date)?

I’ve only got my bonus dose left (due Wednesday/ Thursday), so need to decide soon.

This happened to me last week, was in the office when it was delivered, husband texted me to ask if I wanted him to open it and put in the fridge. He was actually trying to be helpful not curious.

I had prepared for this and had a snack pack of fancy cheeses hidden in the fridge, so I opened it in the kitchen and showed him them and said I got them from a survey I did (I do get freebies to test now and again) 🤣🤣

Only downside is he loves one of the cheese and it's bl00dy expensive but he wants us to get it again.

TheShellBeach · 07/09/2024 10:18

Be sure thy sins shall find thee out.

weaseleyes · 07/09/2024 10:21

Ha! Instant karma for your very cunning plan @CatTraveler!

ChunkyMunky · 07/09/2024 10:34

@CatTraveler he would definitely open it for me if I said it was cheese!

WitchyBits · 07/09/2024 11:02

Quite shocked by the difference going up to a 5mg. Honestly, yesterday I actually had to set reminders to eat. The hunger wasn't just quieter, it's VANISHED.

Weighed myself today, I started on the 9th August. So it's very nearly a full month and I've lost 1st 3lb . Mind blown.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 11:08

@CatTraveler you told your dh you won free cheese and he believes you

Ha ha ha

Must be good cheese 😂

I've posted a question on the board regarding travel insurance but had no response.

If anyone has travel insurance that includes pre existing conditions, have you had to tell them about Mounjaro?

I'm not taking it for any of my health conditions, I'm taking it because I'm fat but if I needed medical assistance whilst away, I suppose I'd list it as a current medication to whoever was treating me (depending on why I needed medical assistance).

MissFancyDay · 07/09/2024 11:11

So it's the morning after my first 5mg dose yesterday. It's probably the roughest I've felt so far. Mainly nausea aching legs dull headache. I'm not going to contemplate food till later. I'm just concentrating on drinking water and peppermint tea.

It could be the curry I had last night mind. Unfortunately I've got half left so have to decide whether to bin it. I'll freeze it.

I'm dithering about whether to use the bonus dose tomorrow or jump straight to 5. I was bloody starving yesterday and weight loss has slowed down even though I'm still in a calorie deficit.

Did you use the bonus dose @WitchyBits ?
