Hi everyone can I ask if people are staying with their original supplier for their second prescription? I was with zava originally (still have over 6 weeks left!) but don't know how easy it would be to use another company for my next set of injections, and use a money off code.

FlappingMadly · 05/09/2024 07:17

Morning! My 3rd jab is due today but it’s our wedding anniversary and we’re going out tonight. Can’t decide whether just to risk it or do it tomorrow.

I've stuck with Zava as well. Mainly because I'm too lazy to shop around, just waiting for approval.

Yes, I stayed with MedExpress. It was comparable in price to other suppliers, plus I was happy with their service.

The sulphur burps are still with me, which was particularly horrible at 3am. I don't know why I am having them now as I'm not doing anything really different, food and drink wise, from the past 4 weeks. I'm going through a stressful time at work, so maybe it's that?

Fourfurrymonsters · 05/09/2024 08:00

Good morning all. I’m on 2.5mg currently and was planning to move up to 5mg but curious as to how I would take the transition 3.75mg as I think this might work better for me (being cautious due to IBS-C). Do you get a 5mg pen but not to up to the full “1”? I think I read you count 45 clicks instead, is that right? Sorry for the newbie question!

I would personally do it tomorrow 🙂

MidLifeResurgence74 · 05/09/2024 08:26

Just did the bonus fifth dose with an insulin syringe (mildly terrifying to think about but simple to implement). I got 0.7ml which I believe is over 2.5mg (0.6ml) but under 3.75mg (0.8ml).

AuntieDote · 05/09/2024 08:27

Definitely going back to 2.5 - tried a 3.75 and never been so ill since! Thought it was the fitness class making me feel achey and sick still yesterday but come bedtime it was really bad stomach pain, constant sulphur burps, needing to get up about 5 times to poo (which was painful!) then started being sick which also tastes of sulphur. Hideous!

@AuntieDote oh no you poor thing! Hope you feel better soon. I’ve seen mention of Gaviscon helping.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2024 08:32

@Motnight

Yes staying with same supplier med express

They seem to be one of the cheapest

Yes I know with a code another is cheaper but then more hassle to do pics etx again

Ordering pen 5mg was so simple as already with them

Whenever I've had an issue - melted package - missing needles or any other issues they get back to you quickly

What did you pay for 2.5 / will pay for 5?

I have stuck with Bolt.

I chose them because the prices were fair for all doses and didn't rely upon discount codes etc.

They have been reliable and quick, in fact my second pen I ordered Friday afternoon, thinking they would dispatch Monday and it arrived before 9.30am on Saturday! Well packed, cold, and with enough needles for the bonus dose.

NippyCrab · 05/09/2024 08:40

@AuntieDote this is my fear moving up, I'm planning another 2.5 so if I feel okay I might stick to that, I was definite in my decision last night but wary now. Hope you feel better today xx

FlappingMadly · 05/09/2024 09:15

Yes I have changed shape. My tummy is perkier I think and the curve under my boobs is flatter. My tops are too big but smaller sizes too tight, so need to wait a week or two. I have a pair of velvet trousers I try on now and then to see if any closer to doing them up, Still a long way to go!

poppym12 · 05/09/2024 09:21

I might leave the bonus dose even though I hate waste and go straight to 5mg on Sunday. Tbf, suppression has been better this week on the 2.5 I injected on Sunday but not much scale activity.

I'm happy my trousers are looser but I suppose secretly I would like to lose another pound by Monday so that would be a stone off in the first month.

However, this isn't a short term thing for me. I am consciously working on my portion control and macros as I want it to be a lifetime change. I want to be 'me' again. The person who managed to eat well and stay slim until I got to 45. Then menopause, turbulent teenage/young adult offspring and frail, elderly parents happened and I stopped looking after 'me'.

FairyPoppins · 05/09/2024 09:22

@AuntieDote @WitchDancer
I suffer with sulphur burps.. I'm still on 2.5 and its been up and down symptom wise.
I bought some peppermint pearls from Amazon which do help with the sulphur.. I will be continuing with 2.5 for a while and increasing slowly, perhaps to 3.75 for a while before moving to 5

happygertie · 05/09/2024 09:32

Hi all, weigh in day and 3rd jab of 2.5.
I lost 4lb this week so total loss over 2 weeks is 9lb.

I'm happy with that seen as I have no suppression, but what it has done is take away my constant cravings.

Just to let you know your calculations here are wrong. With a 2.5mg pen 0.9ml gives you 3.75mg. If you inject 0.7ml then you get slightly under 3mg (2.9mg). If you inject 0.8ml it gives you 3.3mg.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/09/2024 09:50

I keep hearing about sulphur burps but haven't had the privilege of them yet thankfully

Sounds rough @AuntieDote . Hope you feel better later.

I will be doing the bonus dose on holiday - but will not be using all of it, as I really don't want more than 2.5mg. I have an insulin syringe, which doesn't look at all appealing, but I'm going to try not to be a baby about it and go for 0.6ml.

Fingers crossed for all those moving on to their next pen.

I've got those and peppermint tea, which I have taken. I'm still suffering today though 😢

FairyPoppins · 05/09/2024 10:05

@WitchDancer .. the sulphur burps themselves are enough to make be be sick. If I wake up with them I'd sooner be sick than put up with the burps all day, I really feel for you. I think there's a sliding scale of side effects, some more manageable than others - I hope yours settle down soon!
I do also take a digestive enzyme and an actimel every morning, not sure hiw much they help - I did feel sick on Monday, but no burps

WitchDancer · 05/09/2024 10:11

@FairyPoppins I had the sulphur burps the first week and then have been fine until the past couple of days. I've had some rennies and a peppermint tea now, so they're more minty than sulphur now thankfully!
