God, @weaseleyes @eeeeeeeee absolutely on team emotional eating too, and wondering how to fill the gap (dealing with my feelings??), My friends who have had alcohol problems and then gone dry have said similar things about this sudden - space - which you have to deal with when you can't plug it with booze, or food.

PineappleCoconut · 03/09/2024 11:54

End of week 2 and I’ve lost 3kg in total.

Not felt too bad aside from day 2 aches, and constant tiredness.

weaseleyes · 03/09/2024 11:55

I can think of things to fill it, I just can't settle to them! My daughter started uni last year, so I've had more time and stuff I want to get on with, like some decluttering and house improvement stuff. I also started trying to learn watercolour as a challenge because it's something completely outside my usual work/non-work activities. I want to do the first and I actively enjoy the second, but I can't seem to start them or stick at them for longer than ten minutes. I'm so irritated with myself about it.

weaseleyes · 03/09/2024 11:55

Good going, @PineappleCoconut!

Posting here too as well as the other MJ thread.
I've just had a call from my DH saying he's concerned because one of his colleagues has mentioned he can get MJ cheap from one of the boys. I'm saying NO! NO! don't not do this! I've said to DH just tell him I am on MJ it's fine and tell him to call me. Apparently they were thinking they were too expensive, and this dodgy chap can get them for £100! Ffs what's another 30 or 40 quid for the sake of your health and the support from a reputable pharmacy. Wtaf! Xx

This was exactly the concerns my parents had, that I was getting it somewhere cheap! It baffles me that people think it's some cheap thing to mess around with!

NippyCrab · 03/09/2024 13:48

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease exactly, I said look ffs it's £30 and asked what size the pen was. He didn't know just that it was £100 per month. He said his wife knows and I chat to her a bit so I might mention it. Why would you inject yourself and not know the source! He's so desperate to lose the weight god love him he's a lovely guy. Xx

Not a great food day today, dunno what's wrong with me but I've had my eye on the treats at work all day ☹️

AnnieMcFanny · 03/09/2024 15:41

but I don't seem to have the concentration span for it. I think this is a longer term problem in recent years, possibly due to old gitness

that was my reason for starting Mounjaro. I just felt too tired mentally to fight anymore. I knew I didn’t have the mental strength to keep on chipping away at my weight and it was a relief when I gave up the ghost and within hours I’d ordered Mounjaro. I feel so much better now. I’m not mentally exhausted.

AnnieMcFanny · 03/09/2024 15:43

Congratulations to everyone who’s posted a weight loss. 💐

This is exactly how I feel. I just can’t fight it on my own any more. I had my first dose on Friday evening and it’s been a revelation for me so far.

I did that all yesterday.

Edited to add - but not today.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 03/09/2024 16:28

@TheShellBeach not sure what it is at all. Feeling very tired this week so I think it's just not a great week

What strength are you on now?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 03/09/2024 16:34

@TheShellBeach still 2.5, this has definitely made my mind up that I should be moving up to 5

Yes.
And I'm not telling anyone at the doctor's.

They've been useless for years, giving me the old "eat less" bullshit.

It was actually a lovely locum doctor there who mentioned it to me last year, but she isn't there now, and they won't prescribe it in Scotland anyway.

Panfriedscallops · 03/09/2024 16:56

Thank you @WitchDancer @GoodLuckBabe and @cosylife
I know it's hard to believe I don't lose weight on that number of cals but I've done lighter life at 800 a day and only lost 1 or two pounds a week when I weighed over 15 st. And I definitely didn't cheat.

I've dieting all my life and I think my metabolism (do we still use that word?) is messed up. Or, in other words I don't burn calories very efficiently. That might be an old fashioned view but it seems that way.
I don't eat secretly or binge and I can't believe what some people put away!

I have to face that calories don't like me so hopefully the suppression will kick in as the dose increases. Fingers crossed.

I've been exactly the same as this - week 4 on 2.5 and done well on it having lost 8 lbs with no food noise.

But yesterday was tough, I was hungry and had cravings for sweet stuff. It made me decide to go up to 5mg but I'm going to inject 2.5mg twice a week as I'm wary of side effects. I've had mild nausea but no other side effects on 2.5mg so don't want it to get any worse.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 03/09/2024 18:29

@UniqueLemonOrca today has been the first day I've struggled to ignore the food noise, I'm coming up to 4 weeks on 2.5 too so it must be that!

I really don't think you are eating enough. Many articles state that when you're eating enough, the body first uses food for fuel and then turns to the fat it's been holding onto for energy. But when you restrict calories too severely, your body goes into "starvation mode," and then it starts to break down lean muscle tissue instead of hanging onto its energy stores. Look at how much and what you are eating and make sure it is clean, healthy, balanced and importantly enough"
