Weigh in day for me, End of week 4 (4 x 2.5mg).

SW 26 June: 20st 12.5lbs BMI 41.9 (low carbing, no MJ)

SW on MJ: 19st 12.5lbs BMI 39.9
CW: 18 11.6lbs BMI 37.7
Losses: 4, 4.5, 1.5, 5
Total MJ loss: 15lbs, 5%

Plus an additional 14 lbs before MJ.

Total loss of low carb + MJ = 2 stone and 1lb. Muscle % going up thanks to weights work in the gym and cardio fitness improving…six weeks ago I could do ten minutes on the bike at the gym. Today I did an hour!

I am suddenly back into clothes I haven’t been able to wear for a few years, plus I have much less pain in my knees and hygiene is easier.

Constipation is still a side effect but other than that, and one day of dirrohea and stomach pain after eating a lot of fatty food, I’ve felt well and suppression is still strong …lost 5lbs in the last week so have opted to stay on 2.5mg.

I am Delighted with the profession.

Just checking in

SW 17st 4lb
CW 16st 5lb

Took 5 doses of 2.5mg and started a 5mg pen on Sunday morning. Have felt very nauseous the past couple of days. Don’t fancy anything to eat, but when I start something I do manage to eat it no problem. Also slept terribly. However I am hopeful it will pass and can always consider a lower dose next week if I get fed up. Definitely more of a shock to the system than I expected!

Thanks for sharing this; I'm due to move up to 5mg this week and am nervous because I've already some nausea, manageable but not great.

2.5mg worked well up to this week but suppression waned quickly after my 4th dose.

I saw another post from someone who moved to 5mg but took it as two doses of 2.5mg over the week. I'm going to try this as I don't want my nausea to get any worse.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 03/09/2024 07:14

Been hit this morning, feeling very very sick and couldn't use the toilet like I normally would. Feeling a bit frustrated but there's nothing I can do about it!

Just catching up. Hi everyone, old & new.

Some great weight losses. So chuffed for you all.

My first week was great. Appetite down, food noise disappeared and even my usual flyaway brain quietened down, I was on cloud 9 with my small but significant 2lb 1st week loss,

but...

Suppression seems to have gone completely after that first week. The chatter, food and otherwise is also normal now. I miss the calm.

About to take my 4th dose, 2.5mg in about half an hour. Usually do Wednesday mornings but I managed to overindulge quite badly this weekend (my birthday) with no ill effects other than a bit of heartburn so need a boost.

So disappointed. I've been monitoring intake on Nutricheck, sticking to about 1200 cals a day for 3 weeks now and my hard won, paltry, total weight loss of 3 bloody pounds was back on this morning. Gutted.

SW 16 10
CW 16 10

That's a knock back for sure. It's hard but I try to look at it as you're not heavier than when you started Flowers

cosylife · 03/09/2024 08:13

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease why can’t you do anything about it? Get some anti sickness tablets and constipation relief today if you can get to the shops. There’s no point in suffering if there’s some remedies to help lessen the side effects ☺️

I'll see if I can grab something on my lunch break today, just feels a bit random for this to hit 2 days into jab 3!

Sorry to hear that - how frustrating for you! I really don’t understand how you can be consistently at that calorie level and not lose, MJ or no MJ?!

This is what I don't fully understand about MJ - why do they say you get better losses at higher doses, but in theory you should be eating the same healthy diet throughout, not going super low calorie just because the suppression is more…?

Anyway, I guess you may need to move up a dose to achieve better suppression? 2.5mg not a therapeutic dose etc etc

Couldn’t it just be that the constipation has built up over the time on MJ, and as you’re blocked up it’s making you feel rough and sick?

I’ve started having a Fibre One bar a day (with a cup of tea when the kids have a biscuit) as they are quite nice and have 5g fibre. That plus a small portion of breakfast cereal with lots of fibre has really helped me in that respect.

HippoPortlyMouse · 03/09/2024 08:19

poppym12 · 02/09/2024 21:34

Has anyone found any nice protein bars? Obviously I'm eating as much protein from wholefoods as I can (being a vegetarian who doesn't like eggs or milk) but on days like today when I have little appetite, I don't fancy a protein drink but I want to ensure that I have my minimum number of calories etc.

Just thought, I'm also intolerant to oats and peanuts/nut butter makes me wretch.

Reading this list of what I don't eat makes me wonder how I got so fat in the first place Blush.

@poppym12 I've got some of these:
uk.huel.com/products/build-your-own-bundle#/?product=huel-bar

They're not the cheapest but they're relatively comparable to other decent protein bars, plus I like them because they're small, dense and not too sweet. Also the extra vits & minerals can't hurt!

Aside from the one peanut flavour, the others are peanut (and oat) free from what I can see.

I've got a £10 off referral code if it's of use - PM me if so?

WitchDancer · 03/09/2024 08:20

I've just weighed in and it's 2lb off this week, which I'm pleased with.

SW 17.6

Total loss -9lb
Target 12 stone

Did you eat anything different than usual last night? Sometimes eating something fatty or rich affects people.

@Panfriedscallops that sounds really demotivating but you’re doing a fab job and keep it up, like a pp said at least it isn’t a gain

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 03/09/2024 08:33

@GoodLuckBabe could be but I've been pretty regular up till now

@cosylife not that I can think of but I did have a 1200 calorie day as opposed to a 1500/1600 so maybe that's why

Ooohh, dark chocolate and raspberry sounds good. Are they available individually anywhere or do you have to buy in bulk?

Def more hungry this week

Is it wise to do 2.5 and bonus together if I can get it out to bridge gap to 5

I did 2.5mg plus bonus but when I say bonus I only turned pen back round to 1 again so I was administering 5mg in total. I don’t have insulin needles and the final bit in the pen was such a small amount that I binned the rest xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2024 09:55

@MrsHerbs79 think I will do that

Im def more hungry this week and wanting snacky food which I haven't wanted before

Think body is ready to go to 5 so will jab Fri and hard click for any extra. I don't have insulin needles and will see how feel

@WitchDancer well done on loss

@HappilyRed I think you did really well to resist.

I definitely do the emotional eating thing and know that I need to find other ways to deal with stuff. I had a very difficult day at work last week and was so agitated. I was WFH and pacing back and forth in the kitchen, because normally I would find some food, but I have zero appetite and couldn't face eating at all but I wanted to soothe myself somehow. I found it really stressful and it took a long while for the agitation to pass, whereas normally I would have eaten something and then transferred the feelings of agitation to feelings of self-hatred (which weirdly I find easier to deal with) for having eaten food that I wasn't hungry for! We are complicated beings.

Anyway, hats off to you for not turning to food.

@MargoLivebetter this is so me! Eaten my feelings. Hated myself. Eaten again. Rinse and repeat.

HippoPortlyMouse · 03/09/2024 10:26

@poppym12 Annoyingly, I don't think they are. I got a mixed box, but then I also got some other stuff from their store - some protein powder and a bag of their hot & savoury stuff for quick, nutritional lunches for days when I don't have time to think!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 03/09/2024 10:29

Just done a little Shein order as my clothes are definitely going to be too big for me this autumn/winter, they're all size 26/28. It's so hard to know which size to buy now, but hopefully these hits will last me through the winter

MargoLivebetter · 03/09/2024 10:42

There has to be a better way doesn't there @MidLifeResurgence74 . I had counselling for the various lurking horrors I hadn't dealt with a few years back and that did help. I didn't have it to do with the eating, but it was an unexpected bonus. I hadn't realised how it was still going on though, until I started on MJ.

Interesting conversation, I can really relate to both of you. I also went through the realisation that I eat to soothe myself. To be honest MJ has opened my eyes to my bad coping mechanisms. EG I’m dealing with a creepy manager at work and have endured so much that I really shouldn’t need to, putting a brave face on publicly. I would come home and then privately let all the stress out via food.

There’s been times in the last month where I’ve wanted to eat to feel better but couldn’t due to MJ, and it felt confusing almost? It’s highlighted that I am resilient to a fault almost, it’s an eye opening side effect of MJ.

MargoLivebetter · 03/09/2024 10:58

It is definitely a learnt coping mechanism @eeeeeeeee . Not a healthy one either. I have been convincing myself that I 'needed' to eat, when actually I needed to process my feelings. That has become crystal clear using MJ in a way it never was before.

I'm trying to work out how to sit comfortably in myself and not let outside forces disturb my inner mental wellbeing. Definitely a work in progress, as I can do it when everything is fine (obviously!!!! 😂) but still fold under pressure.

MabelSpan · 03/09/2024 11:10

Moving my weigh day and mj day forward one day this week to today, will do the same next week so I am jabbing and weighing on Mondays going forward.

SW 20st 3lbs
CW 19st 7.2lbs
TL wk3 9.8lbs
2.5mg wk 1 -7.4lbs, wk 2 no loss, wk 3 -2.4lbs

Congrats to everyone recording losses and nsv so far this week😀

weaseleyes · 03/09/2024 11:38

I hear you all on the emotional eating. There is definitely a bit of a vacuum without it which I haven't worked out how to fill yet. The annoying thing is there's loads of stuff I could do/should do/even want to do, but I don't seem to have the concentration span for it. I think this is a longer term problem in recent years, possibly due to old gitness, but mainly having got too used to screen time, so I get distracted so easily. I really have to work at doing one thing for a while and not just giving up and doing something else.

MargoLivebetter · 03/09/2024 11:40

Agree @weaseleyes I'm an old git too and I have a kind of fidgety restlessness without food there soothing it all down and distracting me.
