@cosylife My en-slendered ankles were the first NSV of my journey :) I feel I've talked about them a lot here.

5 weeks in and first yoga class since I started (usually go a few times a week). Definitely found it easier / felt lighter, which I technically am? Bodies eh.

Oh also, kept wondering last week why my favourite tops kept sliding down and showing bra and took me til today to realise it's because they're getting looser...

MabelSpan · 02/09/2024 20:37

@WitchDancer Thats a good point, thanks.

HappilyRed · 02/09/2024 20:53

So coming to the end of my first week, injection number 2 on Wednesday.
It’s been going really well and I haven’t felt hunger all week, but realised this evening that even a weight loss drug can’t combat my emotional eating habits. Had a bit of an argument with DH and the food noise is loud.
I’ve brushed my teeth and taken myself to bed, so I’m pleased to have had that willpower, but I’m scared this emotional eating is a bigger problem than I first thought!

weaseleyes · 02/09/2024 20:54

I think people talking about dosage etc is quite reasonable. When people discuss something unwise or ask about how to get MJ when they don't qualify, they're usually advised against it, which is probably more helpful than people just making up their minds alone at home. Most people now posting here probably have more expertise in using MJ than many GPs, so it's good to be able to source that collective experience. The concept of the expert patient has been around for many years now, and everyone who is using MJ has gone through a recognised prescriber. Having had crap weight loss advice from GPs for decades, I'm relieved to be able to make a decision myself. And I think most people are making quite nuanced decisions about dose, generally erring on the side of staying low rather than trying to go high inappropriately.

I'd sooner advocate greater regulation of cosmetic surgery than MJ based on evidence so far. There'll always be some people who don't use a substance sensibly. Hell, we couldn't even use food sensibly and you don't need a prescriber for that! For every person who thinks it's a quick fix to getting skinny and uses it foolishly, there's a hundred times more who are trying to get healthy and stay healthy for themselves and their families.

troppibambini6 · 02/09/2024 21:07

@Wingingit11 it sort of came and went for most of the day on Saturday. Yesterday and today I've felt fine just not really hungry.

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 02/09/2024 21:09

I’ve taken dose 5 today, using the bonus. It twisted really easily for me all the way to 1. But final bit was a bit more difficult but I managed to get it all.
My 5mg pen is due to arrive this week so the bonus will hopefully be a good bridge.

I really wasn’t sure whether to go up or not, but have as the food noise was creeping in and the suppression had lessened.

I’ve eaten far too much tonight and feeling rubbish at the moment.

I also had dodgy scales which I couldn’t recalibrate so not sure whether my actual starting weight was 14st 4 or 14st 1.

I bought the Renpho scales and they are great. Loads of different graphs, detailing all sorts. All going downwards and today I was exactly 13st. (Sadly this is what I thought I weighed before stepping on at the beginning of august!!)

I don’t actually feel too much different yet, so hopefully September will bring looser clothes!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2024 21:09

Def more hungry this week

Is it wise to do 2.5 and bonus together if I can get it out to bridge gap to 5

OP posts:
weaseleyes · 02/09/2024 21:12

I think 2.5 plus bonus would add up to more than 5 @Blondeshavemorefun

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 02/09/2024 21:13

weaseleyes · 02/09/2024 21:12

I think 2.5 plus bonus would add up to more than 5 @Blondeshavemorefun

I think the bonus works out to be close to 3.75, so that plus the normal dose would be 6.25

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2024 21:14

Depending how much I have wasted priming

Most someone has got out was 3.3 plus 2.5 so 5.8 top whack

I know I've used some priming esp as last week it got stuck

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2024 21:15

I'm
Thinking that if I jab 5 rather then 4 I will get confused where I am with weeks

Where 4 is a month and go up

@HappilyRed I can relate and am sure many on here can too. It is moments like that we’ll have to navigate in LWM (life without mounjaro) and you crushed it. I think perhaps it does help us with that because it steadies our blood sugar and slows down digestion so we are better able to make good decisions.

NippyCrab · 02/09/2024 21:19

Hey all, I have my next pen to start at the end of this week and it's another 2.5mg one, I'm ready to go up to 5mg (done 5 weeks on 2.5) I can't order my next pen until the 16th and was wondering if I could do 2 x 2.5mg doses one after the other? Just changing the needles for each jab. I was going to try and do the 3.75 but I don't want to start microdosing either if it's not recommended. I did do the bonus dose and used a pen needle so that was daft because I have no idea how much I got. I spoke to DH today and we agreed that I wouldn't break any of my current meds up and just take some extra so why do it with this. If I want the 5th dose I need to do it properly and buy the correct needles.
I'm pleased with the way 2.5mg has gone but I am feeling the food chatter creeping in. Xx

Has anyone found any nice protein bars? Obviously I'm eating as much protein from wholefoods as I can (being a vegetarian who doesn't like eggs or milk) but on days like today when I have little appetite, I don't fancy a protein drink but I want to ensure that I have my minimum number of calories etc.

Just thought, I'm also intolerant to oats and peanuts/nut butter makes me wretch.

Reading this list of what I don't eat makes me wonder how I got so fat in the first place Blush.

Yes, you can do two 2.5mg jabs, with two needles.

Fulfil are decent, Starbucks have started doing protein coffee drinks if you fancy a protein hit in the morning?

I'm ok for coffee @NeedSomeAnswersPlease, I have a few decaf coffees per day with a good slug of soya milk. It's more something to eat that's small but nutritionally dense I'm after. I'll check out the bars you mentioned, thank you.

poppym12 · 02/09/2024 22:00

I couldn't face that I'm afraid @Blondeshavemorefun ! Unfortunately a lot of protein bars seem to be peanut or oat based. I did get some chocolate and raspberry balls from either Aldi or Lidl once but haven't been able to find them since.

Just checking in

SW 17st 4lb
CW 16st 5lb

Took 5 doses of 2.5mg and started a 5mg pen on Sunday morning. Have felt very nauseous the past couple of days. Don’t fancy anything to eat, but when I start something I do manage to eat it no problem. Also slept terribly. However I am hopeful it will pass and can always consider a lower dose next week if I get fed up. Definitely more of a shock to the system than I expected!

Panfriedscallops · 02/09/2024 22:24

Just catching up. Hi everyone, old & new.

Some great weight losses. So chuffed for you all.

My first week was great. Appetite down, food noise disappeared and even my usual flyaway brain quietened down, I was on cloud 9 with my small but significant 2lb 1st week loss,

but...

Suppression seems to have gone completely after that first week. The chatter, food and otherwise is also normal now. I miss the calm.

About to take my 4th dose, 2.5mg in about half an hour. Usually do Wednesday mornings but I managed to overindulge quite badly this weekend (my birthday) with no ill effects other than a bit of heartburn so need a boost.

So disappointed. I've been monitoring intake on Nutricheck, sticking to about 1200 cals a day for 3 weeks now and my hard won, paltry, total weight loss of 3 bloody pounds was back on this morning. Gutted.

Did 10k steps today and my knee is killing me, unusual as before this weekend I'd been hitting 13/14k+! Not really sure what's going on there I just hope it's not long term
