I'm ready for injection no 2 tomorrow. Does anyone know if I have to do it at the same sort of time or it just has to be the same day?
The video instructions I watched just said the same day the paper ones that came with the pen say it must be the same sort of time?

I changed my time from about teatime to first thing without issues. Given that you can do a second dose within 5 days instead of 7, I can't see it being an issue anyway.

Belle96 · 19/08/2024 21:29

Thank you both, I'd just rather do in the morning than in the evening tomorrow, I'll give it a go and see how I get on

owlyboo · 19/08/2024 21:30

Good luck @Belle96 !

My pen arrived today. It's my childs birthday tomorrow so I've decided to not inject straight away as don't want to feel rubbish tomorrow. We're going for a pub tea after our day out. Would I be okay to inject after that or would that be more likely to cause side affects? Should I wait until the day after do you think?

I'm so ready to start this. I have about 4 stone to lose and feeling really hopeful and determined that this is my time to do it!

I had a really nasty night 24 hours after I'd had my first injection, with my body rejecting everything in my digestive system. Thankfully it was a one off but I would be really wary of going for a meal and then doing my injection, hence me moving it to a morning from now on.

Good luck @Belle96 !

Thanks @owlyboo 7.2lbs down in the first week, I'm ready to smash week 2 💪🏻

owlyboo · 19/08/2024 21:36

@WitchDancer ah okay! Wednesday it is then! I was worried about having food (wine!) then taking my first dose! Last blow out for the birthday then I'll be on it!! Thank you for the advice!

owlyboo · 19/08/2024 21:36

@Belle96 that's an amazing amount in a week! Can't wait to start! Hope week two goes as well.

Belle96 · 19/08/2024 21:42

@owlyboo thank you!
I've upped my water intake which was non existent and I've moved a lot, I know week 2 will probably slow down and this week will have been water retention etc but it's certainly motivated me!
Keep us all updated

owlyboo · 19/08/2024 21:43

@Belle96 yes I will definitely need to up waters. I will do, and you. Hopefully we'll all be announcing our stones lost in no time!

Having had success with ozempic a few years ago but putting weight back on due to stress, I am going to make my first order for Mounjaro.

I have a question- do people buy larger doses pens and then use the 'clicks' to administer lower doses? This was very much a thing in an ozempic group I was in on FB, as a way of saving money. I'm not aware of the costs of the different dose pens as haven't done an online consult yet, but just wanted to check if anyone does it or if it's not possible with Mounjaro.

Interesting...
2.5mg dose is the same price as the 5mg dose at MedExpress so if I intend to carry on with 2.5 but can buy 5mg for same price, I can just administer 2.5mg a week and make it last twice as long. Is that right?
Does anyone know if it's easy to do. How is the 5ml taken?
I'm a bit of a wimp around needles but I don't mind giving that a go if it just involves counting clicks?

Except you shouldn’t use the pen past 30 days of opening due to the risk of contamination. Every time you pierce the pen increases the opportunity for pathogens to enter and contaminate. The safety of the product is compromised

Thank you @Addictedtobeauty that is a very good point. I should have realised when no-one else suggested it. Some great advice on this thread and it's much appreciated.

Ready for dose two on Wednesday. Week 1 has been great. No nausea but do have a strange metallic taste in my mouth and slight constipation Apart from that I'm finding the lack of food noise and hunger a refreshing change.

Not weighed yet but I feel lighter and my clothes feel more comfortable. Trying hard not to get too excited as it's early days but happy so far.

WheresPerry · 19/08/2024 23:23

I just tried to do my second dose, but I had to push very hard and the whole needle part came unattached from the pen, it was all foamy/liquid so I can't have had the full dose.
When I got it I was a bit confused and did wind it to 1 and back again a few times and accidentally did the first dose without taking the cap of the needle, so i knew I'd wasted some anyway. The pen must think I've used it all. I've sent voy photos and told them what happened.

Cosycover · 20/08/2024 08:05

Took my jab yesterday at 9.30am. Was hungry yesterday so I had 1200 cals.

This morning I couldn't finish even half of my usual coffee. I'm still thinking about food but don't want to eat anything. I will have a protein shake whilst working.

Had a good night's sleep. But I have had a headache since yesterday afternoon.

MargoLivebetter · 20/08/2024 08:45

Sounds good @Cosycover . How are you getting on @HelloHello321 ?

I had another disturbed night but woke up NOT HUNGRY! I always wake up hungry thinking about what I'm going to eat for breakfast. Complete absence of hunger this morning and therefore no food noise. I've done my hour commute into the office and I'm still not hungry. I would usually have wolfed down my office breakfast half an hour ago but this morning, I'm struggling to get through my coffee.

I have a friend from school who has never put on a significant amount of weight in her life and we've discussed this a few times and she has often said she just doesn't think about food much. She eats because it is a meal time and then doesn't think about food again until it is the next meal time. This is what her life must have been like!!!!! It honestly blows my mind.

MissFancyDay · 20/08/2024 09:00

I'm halfway through week 2.

Mild hunger suppression and no side effects except constipation. But I'm currently staying with my mother so that's probably the reason.

I'm really loving it, I feel free and in control and it's so easy to say no to food. All my life I've been a " no thanks...oh go on then" person.

CremeDeSudo · 20/08/2024 09:18

Is anyone else concerned they're not eating enough??!

I'm due 3rd 2.5mg tomorrow. Haven't been too concerned about it so far, but am starting to be as I don't want to lose muscle mass!

I think I might be sticking to 2.5 for another month the way I'm going..

doodles55 · 20/08/2024 09:25

Day 2
still nothing
no appetite suppression no side effects
nada
im bewildered

WitchDancer · 20/08/2024 09:26

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 20/08/2024 09:33

Day 1 of jab 2 and the nausea is real again! No food noise but still sat here thinking "oh is it working is it working"?

Is this your first dose?

I took my first dose yesterday and still feel hungry too. I had a protein yogurt for breakfast after not being able to finish my coffee earlier.

The yogurt has filled me up though.

What have you ate?

Hey. Oh no, that sucks on the rubbish night again! I've been taking magnesium which I took before bed last night as I think I've heard it can help with sleep? I was also so shattered all day yesterday that I was hopeful I would sleep, which thankfully I did!

Yes I'm finding the lack of hunger very odd. Yesterday I had a tiny bowl of muesli for breakfast then had a busy day that I actually forgot to eat and wasn't hungry at all. Had a tiny amount of egg salad for dinner that I couldn't even finish, and that was it! I'll definitely need to make an effort to eat little and often. But yes, food is always on mind usually and very odd that I can't even make it through half my usual amount of food. Slightly concerned people will notice how little I am eating and not able to finish even a small meal.

Slight headaches my only issue at the moment, fingers crossed for decent sleep tonight!

Hey, I've only just completed day 1 of first jab and ate such a tiny amount without realising. One small bowl of muesli and small egg salad that I couldn't even finish. Not even sure what the calorie content of that is, but that is not good surely. I need to make a conscious effort to try and eat small and often I think. Very odd that it becomes uncomfortable eating such a small amount.

Have you found it uncomfortable to eat or forgetting to eat because not thinking about food?

Hey, from reading on here, it does seem odd that it effects people so differently. I was expecting nothing until a few days at least. But was hit instantly with lack of sleep, headaches, and feeling very full. But I have read people saying they had nothing at first as the 2.5mg is an introductory dose (can't remember the proper term) just to get your body used to it. Likewise, I've read about some people staying on 2.5mg because it is working, yet lots moving up after the 4 weeks, so I do think it effects everyone differently.

I'm sure it will come, probably good in a way not to be hit with any nasty side effects so quickly. Good luck!

I'm either just not hungry, or feeling a bit nauseous. I can eat, but get full quicker, but I'm never hungry!

I was hoping this week I'd have a little bit of an appetite back, but apparently not!
