Yay, I’ve finally caught up! I’ve been waiting to post for over a week, but was determined to read the whole thread (both of them) and it’s taken me ages.
I had my first dose last Thursday, and I’ve had a really good week. I feel calmer, more content, and settled. I’ve had good suppression, and with the exception of a few aches / headaches in the first few days, the side affects haven’t been too bad either.
I’m not calorie counting as I’ve been away from home a lot so eating out or eating at other people’s homes. I’ve kept a brief note of what type of food I’ve had, but weighing and calculations just hadn’t been feasible. Plus I think, for me, that sort of tracking would create its own ‘food noise’ and stress.
I am definitely eating much less though, and finding that I can have just a little of something I enjoy without wanting lots more. I’ve also realised that a lot of my eating isn’t really down to hunger, but is about other people’s expectations or wants (I’m surrounded by lovely people who seem to show their affection by over-feeding, or seeking company to eat).
I’ve decided not to weigh yet either. Having been on and off diets for years I know that I get disappointed and frustrated with fluctuations and gains. I’ve got over 7st to get rid of so I’m here for the long-haul. I think I’ll weigh once a month, and hopefully over that time I should see some results.
Needing to shift so much weight, I’m a bit nervous about the potential for saggy skin, so I might order some collagen, but I don’t want to rely on supplements too much.
I got my pen from Zava, which was quick and easy. They haven’t sent any swabs though, so I just used an antibacterial wipe. Is that ok?
