Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Hi all, I stumbled across these threads after reading something in AIBU a few days ago and have been very inspired by all your achievements!

Ordered my first pen from Medexpress on Sunday and just had it approved, hoping I will be able to start Thursday night.

Good luck to you all and looking forward to joining in soon 😊

Can I ask if you got an email about a delay? I've had one this morning. I also ordered Sunday night! So annoying!

Hopefully mine comes and we can start together. I was hoping to jab Friday morning.

Has anyone else experienced a big boost in confidence and, well, daring to dream? In the last few days, I’ve seen a gap in the market, created a way to fill it with ideas for future upscaling and am frantically trying to set everything up as I need it up and running in the next two weeks before I go on holiday. I have had the idea before but never developed it.

Jabbed Saturday evening for the second time, still feeling amazing and really struggling to hit my calorie target. Rocking the protein one though. Plus, I slept for six hours straight last night. I never manage more than two usually due to my neuro condition.

Yes, that more or less happened to me. But I found that after a smallish meal I felt full, and a bit uncomfortable, for ages, and really wasn't interested in food until the evening.

Thank you. I'm just having a clear whey drink and don't feel so hungry now.

I injected last night and just felt really hungry, ate an apple and 130g of strawberries and now I feel so sick!!

I think I'll have some fruit or humous and see how it goes. I hope your sick feeling doesn't last.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 13/08/2024 13:10

Just ate most of my lunch (a chicken wrap) and feel like I've eaten a full roast dinner! Hoping the suppression becomes more apparent as the week wears on

Princessandthepie · 13/08/2024 13:25

Got the bus to the park today and I feel so horribly queasy!! Not good!!

Sounds like it’s working though if your wrap made you feel that full!

I think we need to not be afraid of having a bit of an appetite - we do need to eat and find a way to create a sustainable diet going forward! Im saying this but I know I’m the worst panicking every time I feel a little hunger that it suddenly means it’s stopped working!

My suppression isn’t anywhere like as apparent since taking second jab on Sunday - but I think it’s still there somewhere. I woke up really hungry today but by the time I’d done all the bits and bobs I needed in the mad dash to get my daughter up and ready and out to holiday club I suddenly wasn’t that bothered any more. I’ve just had a slightly larger lunch than I have been doing since starting, but it was still really nutritious and inkeeping with calorie/ protein goals.

I have been tempted the odd time over the last few days to grab a biscuit or other sweet snack - I definitely prefer the days when that never enters my head even, but still it’s great that I’ve managed to resist with only a small amount of will power - I’ve had absolutely zero ability to resist since the start of this year really, it’s been more or less like a compulsion so this has definitely quietened it down. I’m also really aware that I’m going to have to manage without the jabs at some point - and will need a boat load of will power at that point so it’s actually useful to practice a little bit now, though the mounjaro is massively taking the edge off those cravings!

Yes, mentally I feel great, very calm and anxiety has lessened.

My dreaming at the moment is mainly around clothes etc. But I'm very aware of how my weight has held me back in many ways. It's all really exciting! Good luck with your new idea!!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 13/08/2024 13:40

@AuntieDote I think it's hard because I'm obviously only 18 hours out from my first jab, I'm getting a bit impatient! I've noticed that my food noise has been replaced by me constantly checking in on myself to see if I have side effects yet 🤣

josette · 13/08/2024 13:44

I’m a lurker; I just did my second 2.5mg jab on Saturday and touch wood, it’s going ok. Just out of interest, does anyone follow the Mounjaro group and Facebook and has it disappeared for you?

I'm in the UK one and it's all I see on my feed atm. Same on Tiktok and IG. I'm thoroughly emersed in MJ atm 😬

No, I hadn't heard from them at all and I'd read a couple of posts from people saying they'd been asked for more pictures before it could be approved. So I emailed them yesterday afternoon asking if my picture was good enough and if they needed any more info from me.

It's now been dispatched, hopefully yours is not far behind and we can start together 😊

Definitely understand that! I’m the same, I’m also constantly refreshing this forum and searching for mounjaro info/ stories everywhere - think I’m getting a bit obsessive which probably isn’t a healthy approach!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 13/08/2024 15:34

@AuntieDote exactly what I'm doing!!!

I just noticed like a second of "god I really want a biscuit" which has now passed, really excited to see how it all kicks in

Peppermint tea has been a life saver for me, helping with nausea. As for side effects, I had a really horrible night 24 hours after my first injection, where my body basically got rid of any food I had anywhere in my digestive system. Reading the threads about it, everyone is different so you can't say how your body is going to react.

I thought the lowest dose was 5ml?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 13/08/2024 16:44

Coming up to 24 hours since I jabbed, thinking about food less but I am getting some thoughts and I'm getting a lot of "is this working for me?" thoughts. However I have absolutely eaten less than I normally would have done and I'm not realty hungry, it's background but definitely not all consuming. Felt a little sick this morning but so far I don't seem to have any sort of symptoms

live Umm’d and Ahhh'd about using this for months now, but after realising that I was 5 stone heavier than I was before I had my son …it’s really a no brainier.
I’m an older mum, and I want to still be able to keep up with my son in years to come.

hoping to take my first dose on Friday …I work all day from home on Saturdays so I can stay close to a loo if needs be !

I love peppermint tea do that’s a bonus.

I'm on 2.5mg too

AuntieDote · 13/08/2024 18:33

Welcome @Katkins17 - I’m an older mum too and have similar motivation for doing this!

Side effects wise I agree peppermint tea is great, the lemon and ginger one also helps me a little. My side effects have all been quite manageable so far - the first day after the first jab was probably the worst. I’m only on week two, injected second dose Sunday night and felt a bit ropey yesterday but nothing like as bad. I’ve had the odd slight headache - but possibly more hunger/ sugar withdrawal than anything else. I’ve been thirsty and there’s been an on and off funny taste in my mouth occasionally. Got a little constipated towards the end of week 1 but got some psyllium husk and added that to a smoothie and that seemed to sort things out. I do feel absolutely shattered by about this time of day though - that’s not unusual for me to be fair, but it does feel a bit next level.

The lowest dose is definitely 2.5ml - here in UK anyway, where are you based @WitchDancer It’s not (supposed) to be a therapeutic dose though, more to get your body used to it. Clearly works with suppression etc for lots of people though.

AuntieDote · 13/08/2024 18:40

Oh also was going to say - I feel so different today/ week two in general I’m starting to doubt whether I injected the second dose correctly. I know I did the exact same as week 1, but I was hungry when I woke up this morning, again before lunch and absolutely ravenous again before dinner. That hasn’t happened at all so far before. I’ve also found myself wondering to the cupboard where DC’s snacks/ other junk are kept and hovering over the biscuits - I’ve literally just cracked and had a small handful of 6 tiny organix animal biscuits made for toddlers! Not ideal but not the worst choice I could have made in that cupboard! I’ve still eaten within my calorie limit but it’s the first day I’ve had to check myself or worry I might go over.

I think I’m going to have to white knuckle it through to next Sunday and hope beyond hope dose 3 does it’s job. I don’t want to jeapordise the 6lbs I’ve already lost and I definitely need more before the end of the month to feel like I’m actually getting somewhere (and to justify the cost to myself!) - but whereas last week felt effortless this week definitely feels like my diets of old where I’m having to really think about it, use willpower, resist cravings etc. Only day 2 of week 2 and a long way to go, so going to see how it pans out! I was hoping to stay on 2.5 another month but if it doesn’t improve from today’s level I might have to go up.

WitchDancer · 13/08/2024 18:45

Ignore me - I'm on 2.5ml not 5ml. ☺️
It's been a long day and my brain has obviously been visiting the future...

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 13/08/2024 18:45

Ending today on 1300 calories if I eat my whole dinner

Gutted. Feel like it's not worked because surely I shouldn't be eating this much
