Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

@WitchDancer I'm so shocked. She said they had called me, got no answer so sent me a letter, on Friday! Just no good

That is appalling. They could have left a message assuming you have a voicemail, no need to give personal info just a simple ‘your Monday appt is cancelled’ or ‘please give us a call’. Or texted, we can send texts in our NHS trust. Last resort put a diary reminder to call you first thing Monday. I am very cross on your behalf!!

My first injection really kicked in after 24 hours and my body just completely rejected everything that I'd eaten in the previous 12 hours. I do hope you don't get that!

Oh god me too! My first week it worked pretty instantly but I have to say I’m feeling a bit sickly now!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 12/08/2024 17:50

@GoodLuckBabe they said they left me a message but nothing was received, I don’t know why they couldn't text me

Just keeping it in mind for starting the injections, it's worth it to avoid situations like this

Cleverchops · 12/08/2024 17:53

Interesting to hear about the anti inflammatory properties - as I mentioned my sometimes swollen ankles have gone and in this heat they would have swollen up quite badly and I swear the appearance of my cellulite has gone too! Worried when we stop taking it these things will come back!
I really hope they do come out with something to take long term that’s doesn’t cost so much 🙏

GoodLuckBabe · 12/08/2024 18:04

How are you feeling today @MidLifeResurgence74 ? Any better?

Wingingit11 · 12/08/2024 18:25

feel like everything has gone wrong MJ wise today. Injected dose 2 on Saturday (though did notice some coming out of needle spot) and literally felt nothing since. No suppression at all and have eaten loads today
must do better tomorrow
must do better tomorrow

MissFancyDay · 12/08/2024 18:50

@Wingingit11 it seems to work so differently on everyone, you potentially need a higher dose for it to have the desired effect.

I can understand as I am on week one, I have had very few side effects so far and medium food suppression, which is probably perfectly normal for a small dose.

I am feeling frustrated probably because of the cost I want to have weight loss right away and I have another three weeks before I can increase the dose. Nothing for it but to trust the process I suppose.

That's really not good and I would be raising that as a concern with PALS so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Onwards and downward from today onwards Flowers

Wingingit11 · 12/08/2024 19:05

@MissFancyDay I think that’s why I am so confused as last week was amazing suppression wise and it’s like the taps been turned off!grr

Has anyone else eliminated processed sugar from their diet doing MJ?
I can’t remember a time when I’ve not had sugar in my diet, even when IF, calorie counting etc, I’d always have a chocolate ‘treat’ every day.
When not dieting I could eat a big bar of chocolate every night.
I’m only on week 2 but this has been huge for me. I’ve drastically cut down on carbs too, in the hope that this will continue long term.

Same for me. I've not had any processed sugar at all since I started 2 weeks ago, in fact the only processed food that I'm having is the occasional Nairns oatcake. And I have chocolate etc in the cupboards for the kids and I've not even thought about eating it. It's totally unlike me, usually I'd rummage in the cupboard anytime I go in the kitchen to make a cup of tea etc. It's amazing.

Now that the time is basically upon me I'm too scared to inject myself 🤣 been a stressful day so I'm going to shower to relax and then try

Done 💪🏻 held my breath the entire time and now I feel faint 🤣

WitchDancer · 12/08/2024 19:48

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease well done!

Potterson13 · 12/08/2024 19:50

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease well done! I also felt faint and spent the 1 hour following the jab convincing myself I was going to have a massive stroke or something while I was alone in the house. Anxiety is a funny old thing!

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease well done!

Thanks!

Pretty sure any effects I feel tonight at least will be in my head but it's nice to be on the journey after a week of waiting!!

What I'll tell myself is those injections for a year or so is probably better than injecting myself everyday because I'm diabetic

I was deffo faint because I held my breath, also held the end of the pen for ten seconds to be sure so now I'm convinced that'll be troublesome 🙄 feels so nice to be on this journey

CremeDeSudo · 12/08/2024 20:01

I felt faint initially too. Had like an anxious wave come over me and had to distract myself by washing the dishes!

It's the strangest thing! I think it's the injecting yourself bit, I had to take a deep breath 🤣

MissFancyDay · 12/08/2024 20:16

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease well done, I was scared of getting air in a blood vessel, even though I primed it properly. In the end there wasn't even any blood. I felt so relieved, it'll be so much better the second time

NippyCrab · 12/08/2024 20:16

Yes! 💪 that's you on your journey now.

I've found with my second injection I've had more appetite suppression. Last week I ate healthy and smallish portions, this week, well last night and tonight I can't eat much. I had my homemade granola with yoghurt and blueberries this morning and half a banana. For lunch which was actually 3pm I had a thin protein bagel, philli, a sliced boiled egg, 2 slices of ham and tomato. So when it came to 7 I had already cooked my baked potato and I had a small rib eye, I made everything and ate about 3 bits and it was binned.

I've also not had anything sugary, I forgot to look to see who was asking sorry. If I feel I want something I have a square of dark chocolate 85% or above.

I am wary of going up to 5mg in case it totally stops me eating. For those who feel seedy or have had sickness and diarrhea, did you inject into your stomach?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 12/08/2024 20:22

@MissFancyDay I've scratched myself, think I went in at a bit of an angle and despite having held it for ten seconds a couple of drops did come out of the end 🥲

@NippyCrab thank you!

Cosycover · 12/08/2024 20:51

Can I join please?

I bought my first pen yesterday fro MedExpress, they asked for a different picture which I sent and now I am just waiting to be approved.

I really hoped it would be here for Friday but doesn't look likely now.

Once you're approved it should really be with you within 24 hours! I was approved on Wednesday last week and it arrived on the Thursday

Oh fingers crossed then.

I wanted to start Friday morning as will be WFH and then have the weekend to assess and deal with any side effects.
