Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Day 4 of first jab. Headache has cleared and I'm not hungry. I also feel quite calm, the usual anxiety has lessened, if it wasn't so hot I might even do some exercising.

Hopefully I'll feel like this tomorrow when it's cooler 😃

AuntieDote · 12/08/2024 12:30

@GoodLuckBabe I’m also using wellgard- I got it in a bundle with some other supplements from tiktok shop - was really good value got multivitamins, B12, apple cider vinegar gummies (which I’ve no current use for - if I was going back to ACV I’d use the proper stuff I think - still got a bottle in the cupboard!) and the collagen for about £20.

I previously used ancient and brave collagen - nothing to do with weight loss just concern for my skin. However I saw a scientific expert really effectively debunk the idea that taking it orally would do anything at all for your skin, and I hadn’t noticed a difference after about 5 weeks anyway so I gave up. As I’ve said before though, I’m so easily suggestible that as soon as I saw people talking about using it in conjunction with mounjaro I was ordering the wellgard one 🙈😂
Im using it as an easy way to help with protein at the moment though trying to do that through natural sources too as I do honestly believe that’s got to be better for you.

I don’t drink coffee - wouldn’t put it in normal tea as something about mixing it with milk makes me feel a bit queasy! In my mint or ginger tea I’d say I’m slightly aware of it somehow, but it’s very manageable.

WorriedRelative · 12/08/2024 12:31

I am due jab two today, but injected around 6pm last time so was planning to do the same today but I am hungry today when I wasn't before

AuntieDote · 12/08/2024 12:35

Edit - my reply was unhidden!

Also - I’m absolutely bloody starving. I had my homemade protein shake which on sat made me feel full literally all day but am ravenous now and loads of food noise. This is quite strange given i only injected yesterday and I’m scared now it’s stopped working for me! It was all going so well too! I’ve prepared some chicken and salad for my lunch so going to grab that now and hope it does the trick.

Not going to lie I was fully banking on having a day of struggling to get anything down me, not sitting on my hands to avoid raiding the cupboards! Help!

Thanks - don’t understand why some people are losing loads but I suspect it’s poor gene luck !

Inflammmation leads to water retention and MJ has been shown to have anti inflammatory action, so this is a factor for those with initial high losses., along with eliminating processed carbs, salty foods etc. All evens out over time, I guess.

Addictedtobeauty · 12/08/2024 13:02

@GoodLuckBabe you can add water to thick yoghurt like Skyr to make it thinner. I do that if making a raita for example. Just mix it well and add the water a little at a time to your bowl not the carton to get the right consistency. Obvs makes a larger volume to eat but easier to stomach if you don’t like it thick.

Eat your high protein salad and hopefully it will start to kick in. Listen to your body- no point being starving- just make sensible choices.

Took second jag on Friday, felt fine, reduced appetite but no side effects. Today feel like absolute garbage…….dodgy stomach and nausea 😭😭😭

CremeDeSudo · 12/08/2024 13:10

I feel a bit rubbish today which I'm really surprised about as it's day 5 and expected to have effects wearing off, hunger returning etc but I feel quite nauseous, no energy. Was hoping to go to the gym this evening but at the moment I don't know if I should. Was hoping I'd be eating a bit more and have more energy for it!

I had the same but just a day early 😔. It has settled down today, had a sore stomach for a bit but nothing else.

I am absolutely shattered though. Slept over 7 hours which is a lot fore and could happily sleep another 7.

Hopefully just a one day thing then fingers crossed 🤞 xxx

And I've now got hiccups after eating a boiled egg 😬

Quackajack · 12/08/2024 13:44

Had my 2nd dose yesterday. Had aching muscles a few hours after taking 1st dose and again after 2nd but woke up feeling my normal self today. I've mainly been eating protein shakes/ yoghurts, cuppa soups, and a jacket potato in the evening with beans and cheese or tuna as it's all I've really fancied. Snackwise have been having small amounts of nuts and raisins, or dates. I tend to keep something by my bed so I can grab it as soon as I get up to combat the mild nausea I get in the morning. Lost 5lb so far so very pleased with that.

Peacelily001 · 12/08/2024 14:07

Has anyone else eliminated processed sugar from their diet doing MJ?
I can’t remember a time when I’ve not had sugar in my diet, even when IF, calorie counting etc, I’d always have a chocolate ‘treat’ every day.
When not dieting I could eat a big bar of chocolate every night.
I’m only on week 2 but this has been huge for me. I’ve drastically cut down on carbs too, in the hope that this will continue long term.

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease ive not even had to try! This is what’s so amazing.
Good luck, I hope you succeed!

Thanks, I feel quite stuffed after my salad (literally just a chicken breast with some seasoning, and some leaves/ cherry tomatoes!) and back in control again, although still feel like I could eat something sweet. I might have some fruit in a bit.

Very interesting compared to last week day after injection, when the thought of eating just felt completely alien!

Good though, every time I feel like that but don't immediately resort to something sugary from the cupboard I feel like I'm training my brain/ body out of my old bad habits.

@Peacelily001 - not completely eliminated but working on getting as close to that as I can. I think the first day, after struggling to eat all day I had a couple of plain biscuits in the evening. And last Friday I made an apple and blackberry crumble, which I did add some sugar to though less than my usual recipe. I only ate a very small portion of it and felt satisfied with that - which is in itself a revelation compared to how I would normally be, I'd have kept going back for seconds and then picked at it until it was all gone.

Well after my hospital appointment was cancelled due to my weight being too high, I'm definitely starting tonight

How annoying about the hospital appointment. Surely they could have told you earlier.
Good luck with the first jab- hope your side effects are few.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 12/08/2024 15:26

@Addictedtobeauty they tried to call me on Friday (I was at a festival and had 0 signal) and so when I didn't answer they sent me a letter!!!

Thank you 🩷

@Wingingit11 hope this makes you feel better, my Dr said to me last week that people who need to lose weight are too hard on themselves, thinking why can't I do this! She said there are several factors as to why people struggle or lose slower than others, these include, genetics, hormones especially and not just Oestrogen and progesterone and medication. 3lbs is brilliant! I'm only walking daily, I'm limited to what I can achieve exercise wise. Hugs xx

My first injection really kicked in after 24 hours and my body just completely rejected everything that I'd eaten in the previous 12 hours. I do hope you don't get that!

I really haven't wanted anything sweet at all, which really isn't like me. The only minor craving I had was Saturday for a bag of ready salted crisps, which I think was because I'd got a bit low on salt.
