Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

@needsomeanswersplease I honestly don't know why I haven't told her as I've told my other two friends. She's overweight herself and could benefit from MJ too, but she can be quite volatile and I never know what mood she'll be in and whether it'll 'trigger' her somehow. I will probably tell her on the night tbh as hopefully she'll be wondering how I've lost so much weight!

Redlightbulb · 11/08/2024 15:04

Day 5 following injection (I never know if I should count the injection day as day 1)
Feel back to normal again. Food noise/cravings are bad today.
Just a bit bloated still.

Yeah I get that, one of my friends is touchy about weight! I did it in a "healthy his I'd what I'm doing and I'm in no way suggesting you do it" way, because I knew it wasn't the type of thing everyone wants to do!

Edited

I'm counting today as day one because I jabbed in the morning, my first injection I did it at 4pm so I counted the next day as day one. I don't suppose it matters but keeps my wee head organised haha. X

NippyCrab · 11/08/2024 15:53

Jab 2 this morning brought forward a day. I feel okay at the moment, I have had a good walk with the dogs, it was super hot though and I've had chicken and some cherry tomatoes for lunch, having a ginger tea, I don't feel sick it just popped into my head so my body must want it 😀
I said to my DH I feel great! I feel chilled, calm and positive. Whatever is in this it's brilliant. But I've also swapped over to a new HRT so that will contribute 😄
I've told one friend who's right positive about it, one friend who I mentioned going on it to was abrasive and negative so I haven't said I'm doing it.
Sorry I'm rambling 🤣

DitzyDoes · 11/08/2024 16:08

Jab 2 on Tuesday but could not resist weighing myself today and I have lost 5lb! However I do feel bloated all the time. I am also constipated however prior the injection I have suffered from quite chronic IBS which seems to have disappeared? Very weird but happy with this. Good luck everyone else and it is so reassuring reading everyone's posts

Wingingit11 · 11/08/2024 16:17

Jab 2 yday (though some dribbles out) and have had no suppression today and it’s been not good food wise 🫣

OlympicsFanGirl · 10/08/2024 19:55

@Redlightbulb

But the overall effects are wearing off. The first 2 days after injecting there was noticeable appetite suppression

I'm finding this too.

I've just had my 3rd injection. But the last 2 days my appetite was completely normal and I was back to eating far too much food.

Took my injection this morning and appetite decreased by the afternoon.

Week 1 lost 3lbs
Week 2 zero loss

I don't feel much is going to happen for me till my dose increases.

I started the same day as you - the 28th! Just took my 3rd dose today. I also think it’s going to be slow going for me sadly. Lost 1lb the first week and 3lb this week BUT I have been eating a lot less than normal so a bit disappointed. I know I have crept into pre-diabetes - not sure if that makes it harder. Also have PCOS and around 6 stone to lose. So need to see it as a marathon and not a sprint! Hope you have a good third week 😊

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 11/08/2024 17:27

Really really tempted to start tonight, but I have a colposcopy booked tomorrow and I'm worried it'll make me feel poorly, and I don't want to mess with my injection day when I go on holiday! So frustrating

Having had a colposcopy before, it's not great as it is, so perhaps wait and do it later tmw. Frustrating when you're ready to get going though, I get it!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 11/08/2024 17:42

@CremeDeSudo yeah I'm thinking it's best to wait it's just SO frustrating

I wouldn't tell your volatile friend about your weight loss journey on her birthday night out! 🫣
She'll accuse you of trying to upstage her or something. Tell her, of course, but not that night!

Princessandthepie · 11/08/2024 18:34

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease I hope tomorrow go ok for you x

Christ yeah, she might! 🙈

Princessandthepie · 11/08/2024 18:45

@CremeDeSudo well you never know!

I've not told anyone except DH about my injections and I'm not sure I will, to be honest.

My week so far went like:

Tuesday - 1st injection. 15kg to lose. immediate & complete appetite suppression. extremely thirsty.

Wednesday - random body pain, the more bony areas of my body felt bruised to the touch! still dehydrated. Went out for dinner but couldn’t finish my food - waste of money!

Thursday - no more body pain. appetite suppression diminished. Had a fairly stressful day at work, felt my eating compulsion kick in. Went out with partner, had something (unhealthy!) to eat and a glass of wine.

Friday - work stress, went out with colleagues afterwards. had a few cocktails. We ordered picky bits for the table which tbh wasn’t nice and I definitely ate less than normal.

Saturday - my friend is pregnant & we had a big group day outing. I finished 2 cocktails & a quesadilla, couldn’t finish ice cream or a coffee, and didn’t touch my fries

Sunday - feel the appetite suppression has gone but the week of alcohol and unhealthy eating hasn’t helped. I have lost 1kg.

So far I’ve not eaten as much as I normally would have, but have wasted a fair amount of money on food I can’t finish as a result.

I made a burrito bowl for dinner and I think this will be my go-to meal going forward. I can leave the rest for later but still get a good variety of different food/nutrients.

Thanks, nervous but have to go so!

@CremeDeSudo could you tell her before the birthday dinner?

A loss is a loss and you’ll get there so don’t be disheartened xxx

poppym12 · 11/08/2024 19:17

I've just done my first injection.

Wingingit11 · 11/08/2024 19:22

@GoodLuckBabe that’s a third of a stone almost! Good going. I’m a slow burner too!

MidLifeResurgence74 · 11/08/2024 19:29

I’m on day 4, jab 1 (started lunchtime Thursday).

I feel so so so ill. Have felt very nauseous almost continuously, hardly eaten anything as I have to force myself to eat. I’m just not interested in food at all - and I adore food and cooking normally! Very burpy. Now excessively bloated and nauseous and constipated.

I’m so sad that my weight loss is now dependent on me taking a drug entirely in secret that effectively starves me just so I can drop two stone.

I’ve been pretty good over the past couple of years of eating protein and veg, limiting carbs with my meals. But I’m a secret eater of crisps, biscuits and chocolate. I haven’t had any desire to eat these things from as soon as I jabbed!

I don’t know how much longer I can go on.

Addictedtobeauty · 11/08/2024 20:13

Well done everyone on the losses and starts. I hope those with side effects settle soon. And good luck with the colposcopy @NeedSomeAnswersPlease. A day delay is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Things are going well still for me, although suppression definitely less than last week. As I said, I don’t mind this as I still have to make those active healthy choices and I can. Long may it continue.

In other news, OH really upset me this morning and I’ve been feeling down all day. He knows I’m doing this and how hard I’ve tried to lose weight, how much I hate being fat, but this morning in bed he gave me a cuddle and said “I love you” (great) but then grabbed a handful of my fat and said ‘all of you’. I do t know why it hurt me so much emotionally, but it did.

Blondephantom · 11/08/2024 20:31

I’m so sorry, @Addictedtobeauty. Maybe explain how it made you feel. A supportive partner won’t need telling twice. He probably thought he was reassuring you. Possibly you feel this way because you are working so hard to lose the weight and that probably makes us all a bit sensitive to comments at the moment. Keep going - you will get there and both of you will be proud.

My other half thinks I’m perfect as I am but recognises I am not happy with how I am. He has been supportive but started to voice concerns about his own weight linked to how I must view him. I have reassured him I think he is wonderful as he is but he definitely has his own feelings to deal with which I wasn’t expecting.

I think weight loss is a much more emotive thing than I had realised. Thinking about it, the language choices I’ve been making about myself this week are not helpful. I’ve been saying things like I’m never getting in this state again. We all need to remember we are awesome at whatever weight we are.

GoodLuckBabe · 11/08/2024 23:07

Thanks for your encouraging messages @Wingingit11 and @MrsHerbs79 I will keep at it! Hoping my third jab kicks in at some point soon as feel almost back to normal tonight in terms of craving chocolate!
@MidLifeResurgence74 sorry to hear you’re feeling so awful. I felt quite ropey the first few days when I started but it did clear, fingers crossed it does soon for you. Also, please don’t feel sad. I am also taking it secretly, but only because there is a stigma currently, and that is society’s fault. No one criticises someone using nicotine patches when they’re trying to give up smoking, it is a sensible thing to do. I am also a secret eater of junk, and the cravings are strong! Food has definitely become an addiction for me in a lot of ways, and I am hoping MJ will help me change my habits in a more gentle way by reducing some of those cravings to a manageable level where I can practise my willpower!

Hello and please can I join as an August starter?
I took my first jav about 36 hours ago. Maybe problem has been headache , I don't think I am drinking enough. Also feeling a bit queasy and acidy after eating.
