Week 12 weigh in

SW 16st
CW 13st 12lb

I have had a few weeks with no loss and even a gain. I stayed on 5mg and have ended up missing a dose because I delayed my injection by a few days on a couple of the weeks because the food suppression was/is still very high. Considering moving back down to 2.5 even though the loss is now a lot slower.

cappycap · 24/08/2024 08:21

WheresSummer99 · 23/08/2024 15:02

@cappycap i ordered a 5mg pen but stayed on 3mg using clicks as that works for me. The food noise on 2.5mg was creeping back in but when I took the bonus dose it was too much. 3mg is my sweet spot of eating 1400c and loads energy to exercise and live my life as normal. I’d do what works for you. I’m still losing 2lbs a week.

Oooh I do have a 5mg pen ready for 4 weeks time, I may do the 3mg and count the clicks if by then 2.5mg is wearing off. Like you, I want to get my calories in and enjoy them and have the energy to move about, work, look after the kids etc without feeling zoned out like I did with my first few jabs of 2.5mg.

cappycap · 24/08/2024 08:24

@Lynsey14
That's what I would be worried about, to be fair, I've been pretty lucky and the only side effect I've had is fatigue, but that has near enough worn off now so the thought of going up a dose doesn't seem appealing right now.
I've read someone say 2.5mg to 5mg is the only dose where it doubles, so that may be why a lot find that initial increase rough.
Hopefully if you move up to 7.5mg if needed, it will be less of a shock to the system.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 24/08/2024 08:34

@QueenEthelTheMagnificent you have my sympathies. I can't eat anything majorly breast anymore, learnt the hard way. It's so painful! Hopefully eases soon.

@Time4changeagain what a great loss in 12 weeks! Why are considering dropping down? Side effects?

No side effects on 2.5 or 5, but moving up to 7.5 kicked me in the ass!

daffodilandtulip · 24/08/2024 08:41

End of week 10 weigh in, 3rd 7.5mg jab done. I'm sticking with 7.5 next month as it's working, and I do get a wave of nausea now and again so don't want to make that worse. Another steady 2lb loss week.

15th June SW 13st 7lb
CW 11st 10lb
Total loss 25lb ... 13% of my body weight!

BMI is still 32 so a long way to go, but I'm over halfway to my goal 🙌🏼

Time4changeagain · 24/08/2024 09:24

@Sewfrickinamazeballs
Yeah, I just hardly ever feel hungry and could quite easily not eat for days! Obviously this isn’t healthy and I’m really struggling to keep to 3 meals a day. I’m managing so far but do end up feeling quite sick afterwards. I suffer with edema too so the stalls could just be water retention

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/08/2024 15:30

What happens when a gastric sleeve and an MJer share an omelette for lunch! 😋

Totally agree with this - I had got used to practically no side effects on 5mg then my first dose of 7.5mg kicked in!
However it has pushed me out of a bit of a stall where I was hovering at losing 25/26lbs and now I've hit 2 stone lost!

CosyNan · 25/08/2024 10:29

@IReallyNeedThisToWork ...Love it !! I can really relate to the leftover fries !

I've been a bit down ,only lost 5lb this last 4 weeks and thinking hmm Do I really want to spend £140 to lose so little ,then I realised that since March I have lost 13 kilos and thought how hard it is to lift a 10kg cabin case into the overhead locker never mid carrying it around 24/7 so I've lost that and probably the underseat as well !

So next time I have doubts I'll picture myself struggling up the plane steps with 2 heavy bags !

TheShellBeach · 25/08/2024 11:45

To all of you who are worried about weight plateaus:

they're normal, and you always get past them.

Even when my weight doesn't go down for a few days, my clothes fit better and I am gradually sending the bigger ones to the charity shop.

TheShellBeach · 25/08/2024 11:47

Yesterday, I was carrying some shopping from the car park to our house, and realised that I was walking quickly.

It then occurred to me that I'm carrying a whole four stone less now.

I'd never be able to lift four stone of anything, yet I was walking about with it not so long ago.

Trytowin20 · 25/08/2024 12:47

Not been on a while

I'm on my second pen of 7.5mg.

Finally got in sub 100kg I'm so happy

SW 111kg
CW 99.5kg

😁

This stuff is incredible, the 7.5 is wearing off a bit now so I'll definitely up to 10 on the next one, sad that the cost rockets on the 10! On holiday end of next week AI so I don't expect to lose much or stay the same but hoping to not go nuts iyswim. I have 2 jabs left but I'm not taking the one that's due whilst on holiday but later on my return.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 25/08/2024 13:58

@CosyNan so sad how hard we are on ourselves isn't it😔
@Trytowin20 fab news re <100kgs!!! And have a great holiday. This is my office today 😁

daffodilandtulip · 25/08/2024 14:13

@TheShellBeach yes! I do a lot of walking and I've noticed my usual routes take a lot less time. I'm also sending a constant stream of clothes away!

Callmejudith · 25/08/2024 15:16

@Trytowin20 I’m on an AI holiday now and also missing a dose which would have been due today. I’m definitely eating a bit more than I would do at home but nowhere near what I usually would. Also drinking but having shandy rather than beer and only a couple of v weak sangrias. It’s just so much easier to have one plate from the buffet and be done!

It's amazing. Some things which I bought, thinking I'd be size 18 for ages, are already getting loose.

I started off at size 24.

I'm almost in a 16 now.

I bought everything from Ebay though, so I haven't spent much.

daffodilandtulip · 25/08/2024 15:44

@TheShellBeach wow! Well done! I've tentatively started trying old size 12s on and some look good 😮. I've just ordered my favourite coat in a size 10 because the 14 I wore this morning is looking rather baggy pants. It's the stuff of dreams.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 26/08/2024 07:20

@Callmejudith I reckon an AI buffet must be one of the biggest tests for MJ! I am impressed by your one plate success!! 🎉🎉🎉

I am on holiday with a friend who had a gastric sleeve last November. It is a shock to see how
little she is able to eat at a time, how slowly she has to eat and drink, how hungry she is at meal times etc. It has stopped me worrying about how much/what I am eating!!

It has also made me very aware of the importance of keeping my muscle mass as she hasn't done any exercise during the process and is now going to have to start to build up some muscle as she looks very frail.

Bitezbabe · 26/08/2024 10:33

Lost 20 lbs since starting 9 weeks ago. Up till now nobody has commented on my weight loss. Away with 8 girl friends for a book group weekend. Suddenly everyone saying I look great, wow have you lost weight. Lovely to finally know it’s showing. Been hard as they think I’m doing it on my own and I haven’t told anyone apart from my husband. Eating out all weekend. Trying to eat healthily and only the odd glass of wine. Hard though when a tasty curry is delivered!!

TheShellBeach · 26/08/2024 11:44

We had a curry the other night and I just couldn't eat as much as usual. I did enjoy it, though.

I'm not denying myself anything, other than ice cream. If there's a big tub of Mackies in the house, I'll eat it all. So I don't buy it. But I'll get a small tub occasionally.

Callmejudith · 26/08/2024 12:09

@Bitezbabe great that people are noticing!

@IReallyNeedThisToWork youre so right about strength training it’s so important. I’ve been training lots but have definitely lost some of my strength for big lifts. When the kids are back at school I’m back on a proper training routine though.

We went out for dinner last night and had a charcuterie board and then paella which was utterly delicious but my stomach was in bits all night.
