Woo hoo! Today I finally hit losing 10% of original body weight, it's been hovering just above for a few days which has been frustrating/

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 11/08/2024 17:01

@CosyNan well done on the % change! I think you do probably need to go up a dose if you are eating well and still very hungry for those last couple of days.

Having committed to a second 5mg pen, I am finding myself questioning every rumble or pang that I’m having! 🤦‍♀️😁 I have to remind myself that OF COURSE I am supposed to be hungry when I haven't eaten for 8hrs!!!

I definitely don't eat enough ,most days I struggle to get to 1200 . I did the TDEE thing and this is the result

Basal Metabolic Rate
1,536 calories per day
Sedentary
1,843 calories per day
Light Exercise
2,112 calories per day
Moderate Exercise
2,381 calories per day

So does this mean I need to eat 1500 or do I deduct to be in deficit ?

WheresSummer99 · 11/08/2024 18:50

@CosyNan my bmr is the same so I tend to eat around 1400, but I exercise around 250-300c off every day so I’m net 1100c, and walk additional 10k steps a day, and I’m losing 2lbs a week on 2.5mg still.

CosyNan · 11/08/2024 18:55

@WheresSummer99 Thanks for that , so more food and more exercise needed !

Callmejudith · 11/08/2024 21:03

It was too hot today to wear the jeans but I went to the pub anyway and bumped into my neighbour who I haven’t seen for a few weeks, she immediately commented on my weight loss and said my skin was looking great! Such a huge boost.

A loss of 2.2kg this week for me which I’m really impressed with as I didn’t feel like I’d had the best week! I’m now down 8.4kg in 7 weeks which seems nice and steady.

SW: 106.5kg
CW: 98.1kg

Still aiming to be about 80kg I think.

Callmejudith · 12/08/2024 07:40

That’s great @SarahB88

Newme24 · 12/08/2024 07:41

Weighed yesterday
SW 15st 6
CW 13st 9 (10 weeks)
Had to take my first 7.5 jab a few days late and I'm really not enjoying the mid week jab and weigh in, so depending on how I'm feeling rest of this week I might jab Tuesday night instead of weds night this week and keep bringing it back to go back to a Sunday night.
No major side effects on this pen either. Somethings feel a little sicky but soon passes.

So impressed I lost this week. It hasn't felt like a good week and I have done no exercise so don't feel as good as I usually do. Trying to get my mojo back with that. The kids being off school really messes with my routine 😅 we eat out more and I'm zapped of energy when we get back home from being out.

Hope everyone has a great week this week 🤩

Greyrockin · 12/08/2024 09:01

A late weigh in for me this week as I’ve been micro-dosing my 5mg (so 2.5 every 3 to 4 days). I haven’t had major side effects apart from the usual constipation, so think the titrating up gradually is working ok. However…. I have put 1.6lb on, and I can’t blame it on hormones as I’m post menopausal. I think that my last whoosh of 5.6lb loss was just my scales being out a bit (I stood on them the other day and they recorded my weight at 68 kilos, which would have been impossible as that would have been a 10 kilo loss in a week!)

SW - 83.7 k
CW - 78.1 k (after 6 weeks)
GW - 62 k

So a loss of 12.3 lbs overall, around a steady 2 lb per week

Callmejudith · 12/08/2024 11:18

@Newme24 the kids being off is a total pain isn't it - so difficult to stick to the routine. Luckily mine are a bit older now and I can leave them to go to the gym and stuff but I can't wait til they're back at school and I can get a proper routine going. Well done on the loss too!

@Greyrockin yep 10kg in a week would have been something! Well done on the loss.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Monday everyone! 😁
Just got off a call with the clinical pharmacist at my gp's and it looks likely I will be put on blood pressure meds.
Doesn't appear that MJ is working her magic in that respect for me 😩

WheresSummer99 · 12/08/2024 14:14

That’s a shame @IReallyNeedThisToWork but over time losing weight will help. My mum has always been slim size 12 her whole life and taught exercise classes even into her 70s. But has been on BP & Cholesterol meds for 20yrs. Sometimes your genetics just get in the way.

WheresSummer99 · 12/08/2024 14:17

I had to move the button on the waist band of some new trousers I bought in May over an inch to stop them falling down and my bra cup has definitely gone down 1-2 sizes. They were huge to start with but it’s really interesting that I’ve lost the boob fat that peri-meno piled on. I can’t wait to buy smaller bras being a GG was not fun.

Callmejudith · 12/08/2024 15:31

I know this has been asked a millions times but - if I have a 5mg pen but only want to take 2.5 - it’s 0.3 on a syringe is that correct?

OP posts:
WheresSummer99 · 12/08/2024 15:54

It’s 30clicks of the 5mg pen @Callmejudith or check the chart on the first post of the main thread for MJ.

Callmejudith · 12/08/2024 16:51

@IReallyNeedThisToWork sorry to hear that re the BP meds.

OP posts:
CosyNan · 12/08/2024 17:18

@IReallyNeedThisToWork Sorry to hear you have to take bp meds .

I know it's a pain but it really is vital to keep it under control and there IS light at the end of the tunnel.

Think of it as being thrown a lifebelt when you're drowning ,you need it right now but hopefully you will come out the other side as your weight reduces.

I have cut out salt as much as possible especially processed food and things like my fave Chinese takeaway that's loaded with hidden salt. It's also important to drink plenty of water .

Chin up lovey ,this too shall pass x

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 12/08/2024 18:17

@CosyNan @Callmejudith @WheresSummer99 thank you for being so lovely! It's shaken me a bit😔 Made me confront my own mortality in a way I guess🤷‍♀️

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 12/08/2024 18:19

@CosyNan thanks! I am pretty low salt (to the point DS moans about me not cooking with it! 😂). Saltiest things I eat will probably be soy sauce and feta!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 12/08/2024 18:32

Me again 😁 Have just ordered a size 16 dress from M&S - that's commitment and optimism in one small move 😂

Will post when I can get into it! 🤦‍♀️

My scales now start with an 11 😮

I'm now in pre lockdown territory, and will now be seeing weights that I haven't seen since having children. (First born is off to uni soon!)

JomonotFomo · 13/08/2024 09:26

That’s so exciting well done @daffodilandtulip

Awesome job! It's such a transformative medication. You must be over the moon 🌝
