So mentioned the other day that I hadn't been paid so I had to wait before ordering my new pen. Then there was a delay with the new pen. So it's finally arrived and I usually jab on a Sunday. Do you think that the 7.5 is going to be even worse now I've had a 3 day break. So worried it's going to be a huge shock to the system. Anyone else had a big gap? X

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/08/2024 20:30

@Callmejudith don't be scared of the 5! It is a wondrous thing!!😁

I haven’t but I think it would be ok. I guess you could also count clicks and take a bit less

Hey all!

I’ve just ordered my second pen to start on next week. I’ve gone for 5 this time but thinking I can eek it out a little longer over the week or so. Do I just only turn the clicker about 1/2 way?

is there a huge difference between 2.5 and 5 ?

have tried wegovy before but even low dose made me ill. No side effects on Mounjaro and week 3 weigh in this week and loss of 9lbs.

Newme24 · 07/08/2024 21:34

@Callmejudith yeah maybe that would have been the way to go, but it's too late now. I just went for it 🙏 so first week of 7.5 here I come 😬. Really wanted to lose a bit more before back to school so figured I have this month on 7.5 to hopefully kick start me again. Thanks for replying 😊

coffeeandteav · 07/08/2024 21:42

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/08/2024 17:43

@coffeeandteav oh that sounds unpleasant! I had 9 straight days like that in weeks 3/4 on 2.5. So weird how things are different for all of us 🤷‍♀️

I have finally bitten the bullet and let Voy know I want to stay on 5mg for a second month👍 I reasoned that if it all went pear shaped on holiday, I could buy some needles and up it as required!

9 days wow. Don't know how you coped.

coffeeandteav · 07/08/2024 21:43

Callmejudith · 07/08/2024 18:08

@IReallyNeedThisToWork amazing for the gym well done

I am due to take my bonus dose the day we go on holiday and I’m considering not doing it, I’m really not sure I want suppression on an AI holiday and I know 100% I’m not going to gain what I’ve already lost in 10 days. But then that means I either keep the bonus dose in the needle which will mean going over the 30 day rule, or throw it away which seems like sacrilege

I wouldn't take it as you want to enjoy it. I am doing similar this weekend. It does seem a waste though so understand the dilemma.

I had a 3 day gap when I went to France. I gained but lost 6lbs the week afterwards.

Good Luck. I would be interested to hear how you get on. I have struggled this week on 7.5mg but I think I need to sort my diet out also.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/08/2024 21:50

@coffeeandteav didn't really leave the house unless completely 'empty' and stopped eating for a while! 😂😂

littlefireseverywhere · 08/08/2024 03:35

Annoyingly, I’ve not lost anything on week 2, this week. Had 9lb weigh loss the first week so thinking it might be my body getting used to that? Here’s hoping week 3 is better .

Trytowin20 · 08/08/2024 07:27

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I've not had any side effects on the 7.5 decided to continue rather than go up to 10 as it would cross over with my holiday and I'm not brave enough just in case the 10 wallops me!

@coffeeandteav it stays in your body a while so hopefully it will be ok.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 08/08/2024 07:31

@coffeeandteav I'm not losing as much on 7.5 but putting that down to being off work, out of routine, staying with others where I can't control food and birthday bubbles

JomonotFomo · 08/08/2024 09:10

Still on holiday, and this is what I ate yesterday - I felt absolutely awful at bedtime

1.5 small slices of toast
1/2 pack of Pringles for lunch a big pack! Wasn’t hungry enough to eat lunch, but would have been better off doing so.
tbsp of mash, one large piece of beef carrots and broccoli

Then 3/4 of a slice of cake (over the day) and a small packet of sweets oh and my first glass of wine.

I’ve totted it up on MFP to be over 2000 calories, clearly some poor choices (Pringles for lunch I’m looking at you) but yesterday I was thinking yeah this isn’t great but at least I didn’t have the whole cake, and my portion for dinner wasn’t OTT. Which is just how skewed my perception is of what I am eating.

I had just felt like MJ had worn off and I’m on holiday with lots of nibbles available and I was just surprised about how ill I felt last night.

thesugarbumfairy · 08/08/2024 10:49

@IReallyNeedThisToWork yay for the gym!

I'm currently on an 'active for health' course (aka 12 week easy exercise course for fatties) As part of the course we get free gym membership. Includes gym, classes, pool. So I've done a gym induction and I'm going to try to get there as often as I can. My preference is dance classes but there's never a space so I've given up hope on that. And I hate swimming.

Yesterday I took my eldest paddle boarding (he enjoyed it on holiday) and of course I fell in. Couldn't get my lardy arse (not as lardy as it was!) back on the board so had to swim for shore. Took me forever and I detested every minute of it. Then I was violently sick. Eldest didn't enjoy it (he has dirt issues and for him English lake = dirty) so that was a waste of 34 quid!

Bitezbabe · 08/08/2024 11:27

Weigh in day for me. 2 lbs down. Been suffering with constipation and now trying kiwi with skin on. So far so good!
NSV. I’m finding I’m doing up my Apple Watch on the next hole. Skinny wrists now. Just wish the rest of me would catch up. 😂

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 08/08/2024 11:29

End of week 7 weigh in this morning! 4th week on 5mg - minimal (if any!) side effects and good suppression 👍

20/5 Fast800 SW: 17st 7lbs
19/6 MJ SW: 16st 12lbs

Wk 1: -7
Wk 2: -4
Wk 3: -3
Wk 4: -2
Wk 5: -5
Wk 6: -1
Wk 7: -1

CW: 15st 3lbs
MJ loss: 23lbs

Not gonna lie, I am FED UP OF THE 15s!!! 😡😡😩😩

I'm trying to stay motivated and 'trust the process' but have 'failed' at this SOOO many times that I think I just don't really believe I can lose any more.

This is probably the point where I would normally give up - I have lost a load! I fit in my size 18s from a few years ago! I can SEE I look better! I am just meant to be fat!

'Trying to sort my head out day' needed I think!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 08/08/2024 12:08

@thesugarbumfairy good for you! Sounds like a really interesting initiative. Keep trying with the dance classes as there are definitely cancellations and you can work out when the booking window opens so be the first in the queue!

@JomonotFomo hope you are felling a little better today. It's fascinating how loudly your body is telling you that it needs certain types of food!

@Bitezbabe yay to the nsv!! Mine is on a magnetic strap so I can't see when my wrist shrinks 😩

Megarea · 08/08/2024 12:48

Third dose of second 5mg pen dose today - I've got a 7.5mg pen to start after next week.

SW 252.6 lb
CW 229.0 lb

Total loss: 23.6 lb

I had got down to 227.6 day before yesterday which I was very happy about as it meant I had lost 10% of my bodyweight! However have bobbed back up a bit in the heat and having my period so slightly disappointing 0.6lb loss overall for the week.

Nevertheless I am determined to trust that looked at over the full time I am losing weight in a healthy and sustainable way and I am not hungry and grumpy so it's still a win.
I wouldn't say no to another whoosh week mind...

Trytowin20 · 08/08/2024 12:52

Well just to give an idea what I have. I don't track it but I'm on 7.5 due another this evening

1eat natural protein bar ( earlier in the week I don't have breakfast really) it definitely wears off when I'm due another for me

1 Tesco side salad with cubes of cheese from home and chicken skewers (snack pack in meals to go Tesco

I have their fruit salad as a snack and some baked crisps or mim pack cashews as a back up may eat one of them/ both may save them.

I can still eat an ok amount but trying to make sure more protein

I'll have a tea but not sure what yet

CosyNan · 08/08/2024 13:25

Massive NSV today !

My Bp was seriously high 180/110 ,absolute stroke level back in March when my GP started me on Amlodipine, when this didn't work he added Losartan which again didn't bring it down enough so he raised the dose. I also started tackling my weight.

Had a dizzy spell at the shops last week and made an appointment. Well !!!!!

Today my Bp was TOO LOW at 107 /72 and I've been taken off Losartan ,so I'm delighted !

I have to start a diary in 2 weeks time and depending on the readings I can hopefully stay off it.

So my 2 stone weight loss since March [ half of it since starting MJ in June] has had a major positive effect on my health already and I am so happy.

CosyNan · 08/08/2024 13:31

PS .... and my watch strap is twiddling round my wrist , I can get 3 fingers under it !

Snozzlemaid · 08/08/2024 13:40

@IReallyNeedThisToWork You're so very close to the 14s - you can do this!
Keep going and I'm sure you'll be posting when you move down a stone level before you know it.

Snozzlemaid · 08/08/2024 14:03

Took my 6th dose of 5mg yesterday.
I was considering going up to 7.5 but that pen hasn't arrived yet so stuck with starting my second 5mg pen instead.
Had a few times of hunger last week so it felt like it was not as effective, but today I've got lots of hunger suppression again.
Just had some cold cooked chicken, tomatoes and slices of orange pepper and feeling very full and slightly queasy. So guess it's still working well thankfully.

That is absolutely brilliant @CosyNan!! What a great demonstration of how used well it can have such life changing effects. Hopefully more positive stories like this will persuade some of the doubters and critics of the benefits 😁
