Losing a consistent 3lbs a week and delighted with this. It feels like a good amount to keep me motivated without being too much too quick.

Yes. I think it's important to remember that after the initial big loss we have to put the work in.

On an ordinary diet, I'd be glad to lose 2-3lb/week.

With MJ I can be confident that my appetite will remain suppressed until I get to my goal. In the past, I've lost three stone, then given up.

I still have 7st to lose.

TheShellBeach · 17/07/2024 14:32

I've just had my hair cut and not seen my hairdresser for seven weeks.

She immediately told me I'd lost weight, so I was really pleased.

I didn't tell her about the MJ.

I did tell her I still had 7st to lose and she said I looked fine as I am! She must be mad - my BMI is 42 FFS. That's a vast improvement on my BMI just after Christmas, which was about 48, but it's still very high.

I did wonder if because she's so used to seeing me fat, she cannot imagine me any thinner?

Callmejudith · 17/07/2024 14:41

@Snozzlemaid thats brilliant!

DietStartsM0NDAY · 17/07/2024 14:49

1st 5ml jab for me this morning.
I had done 3 x 2.5 and titrated up slightly on my 4th with a dose of around 3.75 last week using some of the bonus dose.

I have eaten and drunk pretty much as normal over these first weeks and I weighed in this morning with a 2.5kg loss for the month so I'm pretty happy!
We've had holidays and lots of social stuff which have made it difficult to commit to any consistent lowering of calories, but from this weekend I am aiming to be more mindful.

I have definitely noticed an aversion to wine (don't get me wrong I have persevered 😆) but where as I could happily polish a bottle off before I'm drinking a couple of glasses instead and then really not wanting any more which is a noticeable change.

Hoping the side effect gods are kind to me with the new increased dose!
Great to see all the continued losses. I really feel this is something that will help me sustain weight loss in the longer term, rather than the quick losses quick gains of my past.

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 17/07/2024 18:29

Hi everyone.
First week this week, started on Sat. I’m away with work so eating mainly cold meat and salad. In all honesty calories have been very low, especially as I’ve done an awful lot of walking so burning an awful lot.
Haven’t really had any cravings, but I do have a bar of very dark chocolate just in case and I haven’t had any alcohol. However, I have had a shockingly shit day and really fancy a glass or two of wine with my colleagues.
Extra calories aside, am I likely to wake up in the morning feeling like death is imminent? 😱

Happycyclist · 17/07/2024 18:33

@Thanksforyourlackofthought You may get away with 1 but 2... I felt like shit.

mcdle · 17/07/2024 19:09

@Thanksforyourlackofthought booze has been a mixed bag for me, beer fine. White wine fine, fizz fine, spicy martinis fine, red wine and gin 🤢🤢🤢 can't even stomach one glass of red and loved red pre MJ

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 17/07/2024 19:24

Thanks both. Erm….. not sure if I should risk it or not! Miserable enough today without feeling like death warmed up tomorrow! 😂 I’ll see how the evening wears on! 🍾

daffodilandtulip · 17/07/2024 19:50

Haven't been buying clothes but ordered a size 16 top for an event. It looks absolutely ridiculous, hanging off me like a tent 🎉🎉🎉

Callmejudith · 17/07/2024 19:54

Might be too late but spritzers were good for me when I quite fancied wine

Callmejudith · 17/07/2024 19:55

@TheShellBeach thats great that your hairdresser noticed

@daffodilandtulip brilliant!

TheShellBeach · 17/07/2024 21:29

Went to the GP today for an unrelated matter, and she also told me I looked thinner.

Callmejudith · 17/07/2024 21:47

Bonus dose just done - I did feel a bit like I was in trainspotting (really hoping that’s not offensive to anyone)

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 17/07/2024 22:43

@Callmejudith 😂 I've done mine tonight too. Watched a couple of videos first to make sure I didn't cock it up! I was amazed to think I was sitting at my kitchen table syringing drugs out of a glass vial to inject in my stomach😱 Forgot to weigh myself this morning as out so early so check in will have to be tomorrow😬

@daffodilandtulip superb!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 18/07/2024 07:05

@Callmejudith totally get what you mean. It feels super shady especially as I'm hiding it and telling no one.

@TheShellBeach that must feel good with people noticing.

@daffodilandtulip that's great the top is hanging off you. Well done!

@Thanksforyourlackofthought I've been ok on booze, but self limit to a glass. I can't drink more if I wanted to. I had a few beers on Saturday but spaced across 8 hours (at a festival)

Weigh in day today. Another 2.1 off so exactly 1.5 stones off now.

SW 17st 7.4
CW 16st 0.4 (so close to the 15's!!)

Genuinely surprised I'm still losing each week. Every other diet I have stalled at this point and given up.

mcdle · 18/07/2024 07:29

Brilliant when people notice, especially a doctor!

@Thanksforyourlackofthought did you risk it? How you feeling?

I did a weigh in this morning after only 1lb loss on yesterdays official weekly weigh in day, and I've dropped another 2.25lbs overnight so that's now just over 1 stone lost 🥳🥳🥳 not sure how that works but I'll take it 👍

Callmejudith · 18/07/2024 07:32

@Sewfrickinamazeballs that's great! I reckon you’ll see the 15’s next week

Callmejudith · 18/07/2024 07:42

@mcdle well done! A stone is bloody great

Beeble21 · 18/07/2024 07:44

Morning everyone!
I wear Skinny jegging things from next for work. Every single pair has now got a baggy bum!
So even though I’m losing fairly slowly (9.2lbs in 5 weeks) I am working out too so my shape must be changing. That’s more important as it’s what people see. They don’t know what we weigh unless we tell them.

Summerheels · 18/07/2024 09:30

Well done @Sewfrickinamazeballs & @mcdle those losses are brillant.

i too have joined the one stone down club whoop! I’m SO pleased after 5 weeks. I stalled last week then did about 3mg using the bonus dose and I’ve lost 3lbs already this week. Weigh in day is Sunday for me but I track everyday using my app linked to scales as it’s good to see the flux. I’m away this weekend with lots of driving & sitting down so have “banked” some extra exercise already this morning completing my first trail run with the dog for a couple of years, then a cycle & sea dip so that’s my mini Triathlon before 9am! This drug truly is life changing I’ve had a 85% drop in joint pain & brain fog (I’m early 50s) despite HRT for 6yrs- the last 3yrs have been horrid with perimenopause symptoms.

OrangeWire · 18/07/2024 09:39

Weigh day for me today! 3.5lbs off!

SW: 22st 3.5lbs
CW: 20st 11lbs
GW: 14st 10lbs (for now)

I tried weighing in most days this week, but I found it unhelpful because of the fluctuations, so I think I’ll go back to weighing in a couple of times a week! I am just starting me second week of 5mg and i feel rubbish today, which has surprised me as last week I was fine!

TheShellBeach · 18/07/2024 12:00

29th June. 17st 12lb

18th July. 16st 9lb

Callmejudith · 18/07/2024 12:10

@Beeble21 that's great and allows you to join our baggy pants brigade :)

@Summerheels brilliant for the one stone down - you must feel great and massive well done on the mini triathlon and the lack of joint pain. There's a lot of chat in the other main thread about MJ reducing symptoms of other things- it really is wonderful

@OrangeWire you are smashing it

@TheShellBeach and you too - wow these are some great losses

I got about 0.8 out for my bonus dose last night. Could have done a bit more but I got scared. I am not hungry AT ALL today. Forced done a protein shake but it took 2 hours to drink. Really chugging the water today as well can't seem to get rid of my dry mouth.

thesugarbumfairy · 18/07/2024 13:11

well done everyone on their losses!!

I'm off on holiday next week. Taking my injection as normal (I'm on 3.75 at the mo) and will take the pen with me. I am feeling quite liberated by not thinking about food all of the time. I won't be drinking loads as I'll be away with my kids, so I will just see how it pans out.

I started a course last night (local initiative - 'active for health') and we get free 12 weeks membership for our local leisure centre so I am planning to get down the gym. Sadly I can't do most of the classes (which is what I like doing) because of work timings, but there are tons of machines in the gym so I will do a bit of that. Just a bit mind 😂

I don't think I will get into the 14's before my hol, because that's 4lb before Weds but Id love to be there on my return home!

SW 16st 5lb
CW 15st 3lb

Namechangepleas · 18/07/2024 13:17

Hi everyone just wanted to ask a quick question.. so usually I order from pharmacy2u the pen comes nice and cold with the ice packs still half frozen.
This time I ordered from cloud pharmacy to try and get it a bit cheaper and when the pen turned up today it wasn't chilled and the ice pack was completely defrosted.
Will the pen still be OK to be used? I've put it straight in the fridge now.
Thanks in advance.
