Thank you. Not sure I'll be able to get my head around that! I wish I could split the 5 mg into 2x2.5 doses, but the prices are the same for both, which seems odd.

Those of you who've gone on to the 5 mg dose - how do you feel in the first week? Do side effects hit you immediately?

I took first 5mg dose yesterday and definitely feeling sick today but I think it's about the same level as I felt when I first took the 2.5mg and that wore off fairly quickly after a day or so - didn't really feel it on second dose etc so hoping for the same this pen.

JomonotFomo · 28/06/2024 17:19

Argh! I have lost my needles! They came separately in the box to the cold pack and I put them somewhere safe…..

MILTOBE · 28/06/2024 17:23

My needles were in a plastic bag tucked inside the syringe box, @JomonotFomo.

JomonotFomo · 28/06/2024 17:49

Thank you!! Found them!
I’ve taken the 5mg. I will let everyone know the consequences 😂

coffeandtea · 28/06/2024 17:55

I seem to feel sick the first few days. I lose weight then but I don't want to not eat iust because I feel sick. Hoping this move to 5 will help with true suppression.

Well I've been pondering these past two weeks - I've had no panic attacks, palpitations or anxiety rushes since day one. I've got a nursing background so have been racking my brains to work out a link. Just decided to Google and there's been loads of studies into it, it's true!

JomonotFomo · 28/06/2024 20:09

That’s really interesting @daffodilandtulip i was saying to my husband today that my anxiety/catastrophising and overthinking has eased significantly since starting.

Callmejudith · 28/06/2024 20:15

That’s really interesting!

Day one of jab 2 and feeling good. I definitely felt a bit dizzy a few times last week so I am making a conscious effort to eat a bit more this week. I want to keep up the exercise as I’m in a good routine.

currently plowing through one chicken thigh and some dhal it’s hard going

That's interesting. I hope it works like that for me eventually.

I keep getting palpitations and the first week woke up panicking. That couyne external and nothing to do with MJ.

MILTOBE · 28/06/2024 21:40

I think it helps anxiety in the same way that it stops addictive behaviour. It stops you ruminating on things. I have noticed such a difference - absolutely no difference in alcohol or sweets. I can go to the supermarket and just get what I went in for. I'm not tempted at all. It's not just that, though - I used to weigh myself every day when I was on a diet. Now, I do it if I remember, but certainly don't whip my clothes off to check. All of those were compulsive behaviours really and I think anxiety is very close to that, isn't it?

I've heard people who smoke just never think about it again. It could lead to really amazing results if we go off smoking, drinking and sugar, losing weight into the bargain.

Nearing end of my week2 and being tested by a very busy tiring weekend away. But by staying off sugary foods I’ve just felt so much clearer in my head and ‘lighter’. Had a very long tiring drive yesterday and ate only an apple a banana & oat bar in 7hrs plus just two jelly babies when we got stuck in hellish traffic. Normally I’d have been eating constant sweets “to stay alert” and have a migraine in the evening but I had more energy & a clear head. Ended the day eating a chicken breast salad & my treat was small portion of microwave mash. Today I’m sitting down all day again will need a pack lunch n snacks but I’m prepped with apple, almonds and a salad box. I was showing 8-9lb loss when I left over last two weeks but it’s been very slow 1-2lb this week which I expected after my whoosh the first week. My body only ever loses 1-2lbs week but I’m ok with that as I genuinely am feeling just so much calmer like others have said.

The "tired = food" thing is something I am still struggling with. I am managing to not eat loads of crap if I am tired but it doesn't change the feeling that eating food ought to make you feel more awake. Whereas if I am not tired it's effortless.

Callmejudith · 29/06/2024 08:32

Long drives are a killer for me - I could eat the entire services every time

Ive got a 50th tonight and I’m worried about drinking and waking up with a horrific hangover. I’m going to take some charcoal tablets beforehand and I think I’ll drink cider as that doesn’t usually hit me hard. I’m also hoping for a dance floor where I can sweat it out and then just drink loads of water

coffeeandteav · 29/06/2024 08:33

Woken up with a bad headache and like I have a food hangover feeling like I have binged 4k calories but really I just had a thousand yesterday.

Weigh day I have lost 1 stone 3 in 4 weeks.
This week I have lost 4lbs.
Also feeling really tired.

Callmejudith · 29/06/2024 09:07

@coffeeandteav thats a really great loss. Are you drinking enough water? I also think electrolytes really help with tiredness

JomonotFomo · 29/06/2024 09:20

Well done @coffeeandteav thats great!

@Callmejudith what are electrolytes? I’ve seen them mentioned but I don’t really understand what they are?

Sulphur burps have hit this morning. Yuck! I’ve taken some peppermint tablets in the hope they’re not as totally disgusting as before.

daffodilandtulip · 29/06/2024 10:01

Jab 3 day. Appetite suppressant is still doing well but loss was slloooww this week. Like it's now 10am and I've just had one tea - I used to wake early because I was starving. Now it looks like it'll be lunch before I fancy anything. And evening snacking has stopped, I don't even think about it. I used to be watching tv wondering what I could have. I've brought some smoothie ingredients for this week to see if that helps with the loss.

Lynsey14 · 29/06/2024 10:31

End of week 2 weigh in yesterday

SW 13st 3.5lb
CW 12st 9.75lb
GW 10st 6lb

so 8lb in 2 weeks which I’m really pleased with. Just did my third jab this morning after we did the weekly food shop (which has been remarkably cheaper the past few weeks for some reason…. 😂)

Callmejudith · 29/06/2024 10:56

They’re dissolvable tablets that you put in water. They have various vitamins, salt, and some have caffeine. I used to take them when I did loads of running to help keep hydrated and not feel lethargic. When I get home I’ll post a pic of the ones I have but they’re all pretty similar

Callmejudith · 29/06/2024 10:57

That’s great Lyndsay!

Callmejudith · 29/06/2024 15:25

At the school summer fete and usually by now would have had a burger, ice cream and at least 5 pimms - I don’t fancy anything!

PlantyPotts · 29/06/2024 15:52

Popping my Voy code here if anyone is looking for one.

Thank you

Summerslimm · 29/06/2024 15:55

I second drinking more and electrolytes if you have them but if not a pinch of salt in a glass of squash can have similar effect & take magnesium supplements in a form that works for you. I use high5 tablets when I have them but they have got more expensive. The rehydration sachets in boots or Superdrug work well too.

Summerslimm · 29/06/2024 15:57

Great losses @coffeandtea @Lynsey14 im hoping I can also clear a stone in 4-5weeks. I have been weighing myself daily using an app as it shows me trends but because I’m away for 3days I can’t plus I could be a day late with jab3 but I’m doing well so far sticking to my calorie allowance.

I think I should probably drink more. I am drinking too much sparkling water.
