@TerfTalking yeah I’m still waiting to be approved they already had my id but asked for a second photo as my feet weren’t in first one? My feet don’t look fat just the rest of me 🤣plus I’m short

@norfolkbroadd @Lastchancefatty i feel the same as well, I’m practically going to be a lifer 😂 I’m a size 22, a size 14 looks good on me because I’m tall and broad, it would be a dream come true to get there but for now I’m aiming for an 18!

@OrangeWire@OrangeWire I'm also very tall. I know how many pounds roughly because I got there once and was briefly in a size 12/14. That was 15 years back and I've just been up and down a couple of stone ever since. Each time gaining a little more than the last. Now here we are! Honestly I would settle for a size 18 right now but I know with this injection I can aim lower and actually feel like it may happen for me! It's an amazing feeling knowing you don't necessarily have to fail again because there is help 😊

Same here @Lastchancefatty - currently size 24. I would be happy to get to size 18, but my goal is size 14. Not focusing hugely on the amount of pounds, as I just want to feel better.

I'd also love to be a 14. We can do it

@norfolkbroadd @Lastchancefatty @OrangeWire I’m the same with over 100lbs to lose. I wish some of mine was height but at 5’4” I’m size 22/24 and BMI is 48. Would love to be size 16 again I haven’t been smaller than that since my teens. We can do this 🙌
3rd dose and weigh in tomorrow so will post an update

in my second week , today I’ve spent 6 hours in the car today and that would normally have meant services for snacks but had none at all - that’s a huge step forward for me

I was the same at the weekend. I drove 2 x 2 hour journeys and would normally have had breakfast in the car and then sweets. I had an apple each way this time and I was full.

So inspiring reading this thread. Everyone's so positive. I'm on week 2 day five. I feel like I've eaten more today, however I've really tried to stick to high protein & I'm making a consciously giving myself smaller portions of dinner as really really want to change my life by changing my eating! Got a night out tomorrow that's been in the diary for months and my weigh in day is Sat morning so I'm nervous I'm not going to lose as much. Wondering to weigh both Friday and Saturday morning. But then I think they'll always be something and that's life so if I'm good 6 days out of 7 i shouldn't stress too much. Just want to lose something by Saturday so badly. 😕

Hey everyone,

I recently started taking Moujaro for weight loss, and while it's helping me shed pounds, I can't shake off this worry about potential long-term side effects. It's a new medication, and despite the initial benefits it provides, I'm concerned about what might come up down the road.

I've read about instances where medications have shown unexpected long-term side effects years after being on the market. For example, there have been cases of cardiovascular issues associated with certain weight loss drugs, and gastrointestinal problems have been reported with others. These instances make me cautious, especially with a new drug like Moujaro.

Does anyone else here have similar concerns about new medications for weight loss? How do you cope with the uncertainty of potential long-term effects? I'm trying to balance the benefits I'm experiencing now with the fear of the unknown in the future. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I am a bit like this as I tend to catastrophise. I had a stiff shoulder from working out so starting thinking I had gall bladder issues.
The new research has actually shown it helps with heart issues.
Getting fatter and fatter for me was dangerous in itself. I was miserable. I felt like I was just existing. Trapped by food and my weight. This gives me freedom. So it is definitely about balancing the risks.

Summerslimm · 14/06/2024 06:55

@AnnaBosque i share your fears but balancing them against the long term proven health risks of carrying too much weight as well. I was listening to a podcast which mentioned trying to do weight training /strength based exercise at the same time to reduce the amount of muscle lost. As you will be losing fat and muscle so trying to protect that was seen as really crucial to helping stabilise metabolism longer term. In my head I think if your struggling with anxiety and you have tried all the usual things to relieve it but it’s not worked antidepressants are an option to help readdress the chemical imbalance causing you to struggle. I ‘see’ mj doing similar for those of us with weight issues.

Newme24 · 14/06/2024 06:56

@AnnaBosque I did worry about this before I started and it put me off for a long time. But actually I see it as my weight and relationship with food was so bad that that in itself was going to give me a whole list of problems. Infact the news about it helping with cardiovascular and lessening the risk of strokes etc by lowering my blood sugar levels made it a no brainer. For me that risk was so great at the weight I was at the start and I would often have panic attacks if I started to feel unwell after a big high fat meal etc. I like to think of this as a stepping stone. Not as drastic as bariatric surgery but my last chance to teach myself how to look after my body. I double take about everything I'm putting into my body now. I fill up on the protein and veg salad fruit etc. I feel so much better in every single way since starting this and it's only been 2 weeks. I just wish I had done it sooner. I started running this year and actually I'm treating my body so much better and I just have to hope that all these benefits outweigh anything bad. I don't want to be on this forever hence why I'm trying to change my lifestyle. I'm also a lot more aware of what my children are eating and encourage high protein where I can instead of filling them up on sugars and carbs that don't keep them as full so they never get into this mess that I created for myself.

2 weeks in and 11lbs down. I am so looking forward to getting down to the 13s now. I was almost 17stone after Christmas but lost some weight before I started this. This just makes it so much less stressful. Could be placebo but I feel like I'm getting help along the way and it puts me in a better mind frame x

NiceUnusualDifferent · 14/06/2024 07:10

I did have those concerns but long term affects of being overweight (and in my case getting bigger each year) were a higher risk I felt. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, joint issues etc

HalebiHabibti · 14/06/2024 08:37

Was anyone else absolutely starving hungry in the first few days? I am ravenous! I don't want fatty or sugary food tbf, but my stomach is howling.

knackeredcat · 14/06/2024 09:02

Did anyone not lose anything in their first week? I'm definitely eating less and upping my protein and water intake, but the scales haven't changed and I'm nearing the end of week 1. Unless it takes another week or so to kick in? 🤞

Maybe I'm being impatient, or maybe I didn't inject properly as I didn't feel it...

Spiralout · 14/06/2024 09:09

Just got Wegovy approved through Lloyds Pharmacy and it’s on its way! Slightly worried about nausea side effect as I have emetophobia. Has anyone been taking anti nausea drugs alongside the flab jabs?

Fromthesidelines · 14/06/2024 09:14

@HalebiHabibti I am nearly 3 weeks in and the first week and a half I was ravenous! I try and eat only between 11 and 7 and normally don't find it difficult to delay breakfast but did then! I was overv2 weeks in before I noticed any vague and intermittent appetite suppression.

@knackeredcat despite sticking to healthy eating and a calorie deficit my loss so far over nearly 3 weeks has been minimal. I'm sticking to it rather than giving up as usual partly because I've spent so much on the jabs! I'm telling myself a slow loss while I ingrained new habits is fine.

knackeredcat · 14/06/2024 09:17

@Fromthesidelines, same, I'm in this for the long run. I've a notoriously slow metabolism, so maybe it will take until 5mg before I see anything. Here's hoping! But the diminished hunger and cravings are definite positives, if alien to me. 😀

Fromthesidelines · 14/06/2024 09:32

I'm hoping for more appetite suppression on 5 but preparing myself for a continued slow loss as I think all the jabs do is make it easier to stick to a calorie deficit which I'm doing anyway. Going lower would probably not be healthy.
My hope is that I won't be starving and miserable all the time so won't have my usual 'fuck it' moment a few weeks into dieting!

Just noticed my credit card was debited on Tuesday but still no sign of it being dispatched? How long did folks wait for medExpress? I had hoped to start over the weekend in case of feeling crap.

SAH07 · 14/06/2024 13:33

Hi, day 5 for me. I've noticed that I'm starting to feel hungry again, now that the slight nausea and sulphur burps have lessened. The thought of biscuits put me off at the start of the week but did manage one yesterday.

@AnnaBosque I am also worried about the potential side effects long term. I'm considering stopping, I'm only week 1 in. Despite only needing to lose about 2 stone, I was in the obese category, I've struggled for years to lose weight and was just getting heavier each year despite being able to lose weight fairly easily previously. I've balanced out the argument that there is a big family history of dementiar in my family, therefore losing the weight and eating more healthily may reduce the risk for me. Realistically the maximum I want to remain on these injections is 6 months.

YourBonesAreWet · 14/06/2024 14:33

I’m on day 5 today too.

I’ve had a stinking cold all week. I don’t know if it is bad timing or the Mounjaro. If it happens again next week then I don’t know what I’ll do.

Other than that it has been amazing not thinking about food. The first two days it was a struggle to get food in but I think I was anxious about the nausea which hasn’t been a problem for me yet (🤞)

Btrsun10 · 14/06/2024 15:27

My 5mg pen should be with me today. I've 1 more week plus the bonus dose in my 2.5mg pen. No side effects apart from the feeling cold.

Here is a Zava code if anyone needs it.

KittenSitten · 14/06/2024 17:02

Second week on 2.5mg, 1st weigh in is 1.6 kg loss.
Hope I don't feel so ill this week!

MILTOBE · 14/06/2024 19:39

I hope you're okay this week, @KittenSitten. I had the same loss in week 1 and it doesn't look much better for week 2, though the scales have gone down a tiny bit. The good thing about a weekly injection is that if I'd had that kind of loss on a calorie controlled diet, I would've given up by now. I'm keeping a note of everything I eat, so I know I'm eating a lot less than before - hopefully it'll all fall off soon!
