I'm on day 6 - ready to take my next dose tomorrow. Its still working really well in terms of appetite suppression but annoyingly I'm premenstrual and the 6lbs I lost this week seems to be backtracking with period bloat. Not a big deal as it will mean a big loss next week, but annoying as I was hoping to reach 10lb loss this week and seeing the scale going up instead of down is a bit demoralising :(

And I have a MASSIVE hormonal spot on my chin.

The joys.

MILTOBE · 06/06/2024 16:20

@JomonotFomo It's amazing - I feel equally free of alcohol as I do food. And the great thing is not feeling deprived of anything. I need to find something to reward myself with though - any ideas?

Btrsun10 · 06/06/2024 16:24

I'm on day 3 of week 2.
Week 1 was ok, didnt notice any appetite suppression but managed to eat well during all my meals. I managed 3 meals a day but did not snack.
Today I am hungry! So far I've had 4 lamb cutlets with tzatziki and cheery tomatoes. Then 1/2 a massive bag of cheese nachos and 8 malted milk chocolate biscuits. I simply could not control myself!
OO Gawd! 😭

värskekapsas · 06/06/2024 17:08

day 6, I am feeling great and lost approx 2 kg this week! no side effects at all. I am trying to do intermittent fasting and start eating at 11 which I found very helpful. However today I was more hungry than before

GoingforitJune24 · 06/06/2024 17:12

Day 2/3 for me today. I took my first dose of 2.5 on Tue evening.
Certainly felt the suppression of food noise, and have no urge to eat anything at all. In fact, I have to remind myself to eat something as I don't want to start feeling ill!
Side effects have been pretty much non-existent. I struggled to sleep a bit last night, but could easily put that down to a trapped nerve I have in my neck atm.
Food wise, I've eaten very little. I think around 350-400 calories + plenty of fluids yesterday. Will be similar today. I was planning to aim for around 800-1000 calories a day which might be easier as i near the end of my injection from what I've read.
Would be interested to know what others are doing to monitor intake/calories?

JomonotFomo · 06/06/2024 17:14

@GoingforitJune24 im tracking everything I eat in my fitness pal. Currently the suppressing is enough that I am easily under my calories.

@MILTOBE i like treating myself to a new book or magazine. It’s hard to get out of the 40plus years of food or drink being a reward. Liberating too.

Joining in, just did my first jab 20 mins ago.

Inspired and encouraged by all of you doing so well, I'm hoping to lose 6 stone in total but will take it half a stone at a time.

Can I ask if many/any of you used to eat when you weren't hungry? That (and not recognising when I should stop eating) are my biggest downfalls. Boredom eating I suppose, or just for the pleasure of it Blush

Really hoping this helps

Yes I would just eat, hungry or not. Just habit really, couldn't go into the kitchen without grabbing a chocolate biscuit. Always had a packet of crisps with lunch and would then snack in the evening.
Took my second dose at 2.5 yesterday and I now just eat 2 meals a day. I've not had chocolate or crisps for 9 days now, I can't believe it!

Justanothernametoday · 06/06/2024 18:08

Thanks @norfolkbroadd, you too!

How often are you planning on weighing yourself?

Justanothernametoday · 06/06/2024 18:10

Thanks @Snozzlemaid, that's encouraging.

My portion control is way off so that's where I'm starting my focus

Snozzlemaid · 06/06/2024 18:18

Good luck with it. Hope it works well for you too. I'm more than happy with a 6lb loss the first week.

OrangeWire · 06/06/2024 20:05

I can officially join now as I did my first jab an hour ago! Sooo…

SW: 22st 3lbs 😳🤦‍♀️
GW: 14st 10lbs

That would get me into the “overweight” category, it’s too daunting to think beyond that!

Trytowin20 · 06/06/2024 22:05

Second dose done this evening .Today was definitely harder to keep food intake under control but glad I stuck it out as much as possible

Today I had a fruit pot for breakfast, ham egg salad with falafel for lunch, chicken for snack, ready meals curry for tea with gf pitta. One ready meal (curry and rice in one) we would usually have more so I'm still counting it as a win. 560 ISH cals so not horrific but gorgeous.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/06/2024 06:56

MILTOBE

I have a wee gin most nights Wink (I really ought not to, it's hardly a health food)

Day 4 yesterday

Struggled to eat, including last nights gin I had 800 calories in total Confused

I refuse to diet on this drug, I'm not controlling what I eat - it took me years to stop dieting so I'm not starting again.

If I am hungrier on day 6 I will just eat more

The point is OVERALL loss for me over a month, I expect in the normal run of life to eat more some days than others

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 07/06/2024 07:28

First jab was yesterday. Totally pain free, super easy. So happy about that.

This stuff is amazing. No side effects for me yet thankfully. DH makes me one of those instant cappuccino sachets every morning (struggle to get out of bed until this is drunk). I couldn't finish it! Left half, felt very full. It was instant after a few sips.

Here's hoping this continues

sazhaha · 07/06/2024 08:36

Hey all, so 1 week officially complete but I’m feeling slightly deflated as haven’t weighed all week and because I’ve just started my period and incredibly bloated I’ve only lost 3lbs 😥my starting weight is 20st 1lb so honestly thought I’d see a big loss. Hopefully next week!
But positives are I’ve not had any chocolate or biscuits or crisps for a week which is bonkers for me. I’m eating much smaller portions and feel full much quicker. A couple of times I’ve still had the habit at 4pm or after dinner to think ooh something sweet but go to fridge/cupboard and realise I don’t actually want anything - I think it’s like an out of habit thing. On day 5 and 6 I definitely felt I could’ve eaten more so I’m ready for my second dose today! I’ve got a birthday lunch to go to so will be mindful but also do want to be able to enjoy these occasional meals out without counting calories/protein.
If I keep losing 3lbs every week it’ll be over 1 stone lost before I go on holiday in July so I’ll hold that as a mini goal! I feel like this medication is a big game changer for me.
Well done to those with losses and welcome to everyone just starting 😊

Snap! Right down to the spot on chin. Except I didn’t weigh myself earlier in the week annoyingly 😩

norfolkbroadd · 07/06/2024 09:23

To those feeling deflated in week one, you could do what I'm doing and only weigh in once a month (at reordering time). I'm trying not to focus on numbers and more on how I feel.

Day 6 for me I’m going to take my second 2.5 tonight though so supression kicks back in for the full weekend as it’s deffo stopped working so well

SW 120kg Sunday morning
CW 115.9kg this morning

MILTOBE · 07/06/2024 10:05

Wow, @CoastalCalm that's a 9.5lb loss!

Yeah I’m delighted but obviously starting at a higher weight than many will mean a larger initial loss , saying that I’ve just had a grilled bacon sandwich in a protein roll which I haven’t totted up cals of yet !

I have other health issues so starting this was a bit of a gamble but everything seems good so far

MILTOBE · 07/06/2024 10:34

It's a really great loss. I'm going to go upstairs and throw my scales out of the window as my weight's barely shifting and that can't be down to me, can it?!

Awwww no don’t compare yourself in that negative way , this is just the loading phase and everyone reacts differently - just take things an hour at a time and if you’re hungry eat just try to choose a healthier option.
