Thanks very much, that's really helpful info.
Out of curiosity, has your dose changed much, is it working well for you?

dottyp0104 · 03/06/2024 19:13

@Bubby77 I've just started 7.5mg this week. It's definately suppressing my food noise and hunger.

Has anyone started mounjaro but not been in the right BMI for it?
I'm sitting at about bmi of 26 but I'm scared to take it now. Cancer and early menopause has made me pile the weight on 😭

I’ve just started mounjaro on the starter dose and I’m a little under your bmi. They approved me as I have PCOS insulin resistance and an underactive thyroid and I could not lose weight with diet and exercise alone. I ordered with simple online and they didn’t even request a photo and the starter dose is £150. So far I feel great! A little nausea in the first couple of days and now nothing. Definitely stopped my sugar cravings and my meals are smaller portions. I hope this gets to work quickly, I gained a stone and a half with PCOS :(

Bubby77 · 09/06/2024 17:12

Those of you who already have established use of mounjaro, could you advise in your opinion who is best priced, as well as reasonable delivery please?
I've done a bit of research and I'm a little worried about reviews I've seen on trustpilot 😕

50shadedofmagnolia · 09/06/2024 17:15

Does anyone know a company that does the injections without having to show photos please (uk)

Time4changeagain · 09/06/2024 17:47

@Bubby77
I did a lot of checking on prices and have just ordered my 5mg pen from zava. I got a code from another thread on here. it gave me and the other person 15% off.
It cost £122.14 including Royal Mail express cold delivery. I was with medexpress but that worked out about £30 more.

Here is my code for 15% off your first order at ZAVA if you want to use it: REFUX25W

@50shadedofmagnolia
i had to submit a photo with both of companies I used

Thanks very much, I may well use that code😉 Do packages from them need to be signed for and is it discreet packaging?

Time4changeagain · 09/06/2024 22:12

@Bubby77
Yes they are delivered in discreet packaging. Im normally in when packages are delivered but haven’t actually signed for anything where I live since covid. when I haven’t been in they’ve usually just left in a safe place and taken a photo too

Bubby77 · 10/06/2024 02:12

This is all really helpful info and sorry for all the questions, but I'm quite nervous about taking the plunge...nervous about all the side effects I guess.
I see that Zava do a starter pack of 2.5, 5 and 7.5mg 3 month starter pack. Is that something that would be recommended or avoided, possibly because the move between doses may not be that quick?

Time4changeagain · 10/06/2024 09:24

@Bubby77
I was really nervous too and it took me a few weeks of reading through the threads on here to pluck up courage and actually order. I only ordered one 2.5 pen, Firstly because of the price & didn’t want to pay over the odds as different companies seem to have offers/discount codes for 1st orders. There are lots of codes posted and loads of great advice 😀 Also I thought if I have really bad side effects I would just stop taking it. Luckily the only side effects I have so far is the appetite suppression and a slight headache on the 3rd day. Got to admit it’s weird not being hungry or even thinking about food.

CarlieH · 16/06/2024 13:33

Hi, I started Mounjaro 2 weeks ago, had my 2nd 2.5mg (0.5ml) yesterday, haven’t noticed a change as of yet! I just want to double check with others taking it if I’m taking it correctly?
I have 1 Mounjaro pen, with 4 doses, take it once a week for 4 weeks, that’s correct right?
Just confusing me how it’s 2.5mg starting dose but only injecting 0.5ml?
Hope you can help/confirm, thank you!

dottyp0104 · 16/06/2024 21:30

@CarlieH
Your MJ pen delivers each dose in 0.6ml liquid. The pen has 4x doses (plus the excess liquid some use as the 5th dose)

CarlieH · 16/06/2024 22:05

@dottyp0104 Thank you for replying to me! I was just slightly confused but now ok!

Bubby77 · 17/06/2024 21:26

Tomorrow is day 7 for me, I can't praise this enough. The injection was so quick, barely felt it, and the effect was immediate. I had zero hunger and no sugar cravings, it was utterly bizarre but has made such a difference to how I'm living day to day.

It's allowed me to eat normally for once, and joining my family again, without making something different and boring for myself. That makes me so happy 😊 I swear I'm insulin resistant, so if I ate what I'm eating now, the pounds were just creeping on steadily. So it's a breath of fresh air to live without constantly thinking about food, and what I can and can't have.

I've not had any side effects at all but the only downside of mounjaro is pooping!! The last day or so, I just can't go, and my stomach is starting to get bloated and uncomfortable. I don't quite understand it because I'm eating normal food??!

Any simple tried and tested tips please?

TigerTyger · 18/06/2024 09:42

@Bubby77 MJ slows down the passage of food through the digestive tract so that's why you're experiencing what you are

Senna helps

I ordered from Voy and it came in a plain cardboard box. No sign on the outside for what it was. Inside was a cool pack, sharps bin and the jab. Really well packaged. You also get some coaching as part of the deal if you feel you want to discuss things. I am sure most package this discreetly.

It's more expensive than some of the others but there are many referral codes you can used to get money off your first order which makes it cheaper than most the first month (and move after this as I plan to do unless someone uses your code (then 50% of for you).

Good luck on your journey. It really is transforming!

Apologies @Bubby77 see you have started. I too have some constipation. I now have a couple of prunes a day and am taking some dulcolax which is helping. Gone from feeing full to bloated. Not pleasant!

Time4changeagain · 18/06/2024 11:53

@Bubby77
As said above it is normal. I have a couple of weetabix if I start to feel bloated and this has helped me over the past few weeks

Just wanted to add my experience to help others! Ive just moved up to the 5mg dose and had to double check as the liquid amount is the same in the injection but the dose is higher in the liquid, just in case anyone else is slightly slow like me!!

I haven't had any symptoms aside from one night of particularly bad sulphur burps, but it has worked amazingly for me even at the lower doses and I've lost 20lbs in just over a month!!

I used Asda pharmacy the first time but then moved to Voy as it was cheaper using a referral code, ive added mine in the link below, i got £85 off which made it really well priced Smile

Joining in if that's OK- had a discussion with my GP after a recent diagnosis of Mild Fatty Liver (weight related) and a BMI of 35, she agreed that it might benefit me to try weight loss Injections.

I've struggled with my weight since a hysterectomy 15 years ago and despite averaging 1500 to 1800 cals a day I just can't lose. I really struggle to eat less than this due to blood sugars dropping and cravings to eat sweet things so it's better for me to eat a little more to maintain my energy levels.
Ordered from Simple Online Pharmacy and hope to start before the weekend.

Best of luck, you'll not look back! The injection made my sweet cravings disappear, which is half the battle!

My code for 15% off via Zavamed.com, if you want to give them a try, is REFMDFKJ.

I still have no appetite suppressant at 5mg. I’m on my last 5mg injection today and then up to 7.5mg next week. If that doesn’t work I’m giving up.
