Is [[http://qbdress.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/White-tights-with-a-tea-length-dress-Yay-or-nay-Weddingbee.jpg this]] the sort of look you are aiming for?

If so, I think the main differences are:

  • shorter sleeves
  • longer skirt
  • skirt smooth and less sticky out (yes, that's the technical term Grin)
  • lace around the waist to make the transition from top to bottom half
LooksBetterWithAFilter · 24/03/2017 16:15

I love the style of the dress but not sure about that particular dress. The top and bottom half don't match it looks like 2 different dresses. I would shop around if you like the style and find a more flattering cut of the same sort of style.

beargrass · 24/03/2017 16:23

I really like it! More important - and very often forgotten - is writing your hair done. Make sure you spend time on this because it can make or break a wedding dress. I'd go 50s - with a big roll quiff style at the front :)

slanleat · 24/03/2017 16:34

I love it to be honest. I prefer it with the ribbon and think it looks stunning with the shoes matching the ribbon. I agree with others that you could go for a wider ribbon on your waist and that would further mark the waistline.
If you had a dramatic bouquet of red flowers, a good bra and maybe red head-dress it would be perfect.
If I had to do it again I would go for a dress like yours.

RiverdaleJughead · 24/03/2017 16:39

I honestly think it looks like a child's flower girl dress. I love the shoes but I would place you at 40 just from dress. I don't like dresses that puff out though and it's your wedding x

paddypants13 · 24/03/2017 17:02

I like it without the ribbon but I think you will need to try it on with the proper underwear to be sure about the fit.

I really like the style of the dress though.

ExsitedBride · 24/03/2017 22:03

It's a little girl's fairy dress like a tinkerbelle outfit (only posting this as I saw you said you could send it back). I'm sorry but it's very baby ish and no I don't like it, but it's about how you feel in it.

ExsitedBride · 24/03/2017 22:04

Would place your age in 40s at a guess.

ForgiveMeFatherForIHaveGinned · 24/03/2017 22:05

Love this dress, it looks beautiful!

GooodMythicalMorning · 24/03/2017 22:11

Looks like the flower girls dress. Hmm I want to like it but the shape is wrong for you. It needs to be less pouffy and the neckline doesnt look right.

BrightonBelleCat · 24/03/2017 22:26

Ok I think I'm going to send it back tomorrow. I didn't put it on and think that's the one. Back to the drawing board. Thanks peeps x

brighton the dress is nice enough, but its just not amazing for you. And thats ok if your able to exchange

Fingermoose · 24/03/2017 23:15

If you're not sure then it's not the right dress for you. If you're ok to say a size and budget I'm sure the Style & Beauty board could come up with some suggestions.

Rioja123 · 25/03/2017 11:15

I think it makes your hips look wide. I don't think it's a flattering shape in all honesty.

RaeSkywalker · 25/03/2017 11:19

I'm really sorry but I don't like the skirt part.

acornsandnuts · 25/03/2017 11:25

I think it your waist is lost in it. If you have curves you need something to show the off. Go to a wedding shop and try on loads of styles. You don't need to buy from there it would just give you a starting point of what really suits you.

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 25/03/2017 11:34

Hi Brighton
I'm not too keen on the dress as I think this style makes women look heavier than they are, particularly the bottom half. But each to their own. How long before the wedding?

BrightonBelleCat · 25/03/2017 11:34

I feel too old and too fat to go to a wedding shop to be honest. My budget is about £400. I've just ordered a dress from phase 8 called Cressida. Pic here.

I really need an honest opinion

I think it looks nice but think an a line may be better? I'm short and chubby (you're not chubby but do look short) and quite big busted and found a line better.

I also agree that looks better without sleeves.

The skirt part is beautiful though.

This is my dress which I loved.

Best of luck with your wedding SmileFlowers

SarcasmMode · 25/03/2017 11:46

Obviously not same length but same idea around the waist.

MayorMayhem · 25/03/2017 11:47

I love the Phase Eight one!

SarcasmMode · 25/03/2017 12:07

What about some of these YOU can see it there.

here's one

and another

SnugglyBedSocks · 25/03/2017 12:11

Saw that you are returning it.

If it was the right one you wouldn't need to ask on here Smile

I personally didn't like it. I don't feel that it did anything for you.

paddypants13 · 25/03/2017 13:34

They're lovely Sarcasm.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 25/03/2017 13:40

Glad you're sending it back Op as it really wasn't a flattering shape on you at all. Hope you find something which makes you feel amazing!

Sarcasm lovely dress!
