I hate this heat, bring on winter!

Okay so I know this sounds ridiculous to people who love the sun. But I can’t stand this hot weather, the uncomfortable heat, sweating in places I never knew I could sweat, the red face, horrible smell of sunscreen, lack of sleep due to heat. My 8 month old is struggling in this heat too! She seems to have taken on her mother’s hatred for the sun haha!

Bring on the frosty blue skies , the crunchy leaves, hot chocolate with a hot water bottle tucked up in a duvet watching Christmas movies! I know I can’t be the only one surely who feels the same! My partner on the other hand, absolutely loves the heat and relishes in the sun. I feel like a sweaty gammon joint.

People say "oh you'll be moaning when it's autumn and dark at 5pm"... but honestly I really don't! I love dark cosy nights and dark mornings
Same. It's not just a wish for the heat to sod off, I genuinely love the polar opposite.

You what annoys me most are the people who mock me for not liking any hot weather?
It's all ' I bet your suffering ' smirk
Or ' we will find you the shade ' as if it's a huge inconvenience. As if I'm a freak for not wanting to get lines or skin like leather or even skin cancer.
I'm praying for colder weather / rain very soon !

I do not know how those of you who live in the extreme heat area are coping. I’m in Belfast and anything over 25 C makes my garden a furnace . It is quite nice to have a short spell of heat so you feel you got a summer but rain is forecast here for later today and I feel excited!

Me too. Genuinely love cold weather, don't put my heating on much!

I don't tend to gloat and sneer at people that are 'always cold ' and moaning about how miserable the cold/rain/mist/sleet is, either. Unlike some of the hot weather lovers that are posting currently on some threads

I hate this heat too, however I’d quite happily live with spring or autumn all of the time, I absolutely hate the dark days of winter. My dislike of layering on sun cream on my 3 year old twins is only equalled by the layers of clothes, hats, gloves I have to take on and off 100 times per day.

I feel as hot and heavy as some sort of heat storage brick. I think it'll take me until Christmas to cool down. I reckon I could lay on someone's living room floor and heat the room for them.

Tonight is feeling suffocating. It’s tooo hot! It’s gonna be a struggle to sleep. But on brighter news.. forecasted rain here tomorrow so hoping you guys get some relief too!

Hate it, absolutely hate it. It’s been nearly 30 everyday for what feels like weeks and weeks, getting up to 41 was hellish. It’s muggy, the sweating, the bugs, can’t walk the dogs, everything in the garden is dead and haven’t had a good nights sleep for weeks.

Yup, same here. I sat outside at around 9pm, the thermometer said 23deg, inside its 30!! I cannot cope with it, Im wondering if it’s worse this yr as I started working in a chilled environment in may, so perhaps I’m even less able to deal with it than before?!
i vomited earlier due to the heat I think, just can’t get comfortable.
if it rains tomorrow I will go out and wash in the car in the rain!

The winter is definitely more my thing. I hate the sun soooo much!! Like, it's nice for a little but but then it overstays it's welcome, ya know?

I just want the cool breeze, not this oven heat outside! 😫

Looking forward to some stodgy food put it that way.

We've never been able to afford winter so never really put the heating on; I still look forward to Autumn. I'm not expecting the romantic version where it's all golden and crisp - soggy and sludgy is the norm - but it will still be much, much more comfortable than it is at the moment.

Bring on September! I'm so tired as not slept properly for weeks, I've spent most of the night awake and sweating, cooler now so trying to get 2 hours in before alarm goes off at 7.30

The summer can do one now!

Also tired here. Woke up at about 3.30 am. No point trying to sleep as I have to be up just before 5 am. It's been going on for a month now, I'm permanently tired and yawning.

Wish we could edit! I'm about to leave for work and it's beautifully cool outside - 9ne benefit to being an early riser 🙂

Some of you guys need to move to the far north of Scotland or Shetland 😆. While the rest of the UK including much of Scotland were recording historical highs in mid 39's - 40c Lerwick sat at 12c

I absolutely love the sun but even for me it's been a bit too much so much so that I just can't take my girls out in this heat. I can't do day trips or to the beach as its just too dangerous to let them be out in the sun in these temperatures. I love each season but I'm not quite yet wishing away summer 🙂

Cant wait for winter i am so done with this heat the lowest its dropped to hear has been 26 and im so done with it. The hottest day reached 41 degrees and i dont feel like ive cooled down since then its unbearable.

I try hard not to wish the seasons away and am definately not looking forward to the heating costs this winter.

But I shall gratefully receive some cooler weather so the dog can go back to getting a second walk at midday and so I can sleep at night without the fans going full blast and sounding like I'm trying to sleep in a jet engine!

I’ve been day dreaming of autumn! Thick tights and scarves, curled up by the log burner watching a film and a hot water bottle on my feet in bed…bliss.

This heat has been too much this year, I’m lucky I live in an area that has mostly been in the early 20’s and we’ve had rain so my grass is still green! But the 2 recent heat waves have been unbearable!

I am so sick of not sleeping. It is wearing me down it's so blinking hot

Had 3.5 hours sleep last night, there is a breeze today though

It's a running joke now round ours when the weather comes on that I want to move to Lerwick Always looks so lovely and cool all the way up there.

Someone always comes on threads like this and has a sneer about unrealistic expectations of winter, like "Oh, it won't be lovely and cold and crisp, it'll be soggy and dark, let's see how you like THAT!" Like some sort of gotcha. No, I like rain, I like dark. I'd love some snow but don't expect it. I absolutely love waking up and hearing rain beating down on a dark morning. I love putting on a thick robe or cardigan and hunkering down under a blanket with the lights low to watch a film. That genuinely is my heaven.

I'm so done with it. Today was meant to be the day of storms and lower temps... Our 'fresh' temperatures here today that apparently signal the end of the current heatwave - 31 degrees. When did 31 become a lower fresher temperature!?

Roll on Wednesday when it gets below 25 degrees here for the first time in a LONG time.
