Will the uk have a storm tonight after the hot weather?

I remember a couple of years back we had a huge storm in the night following the heatwave.

Just wondering if to prepare as I have cats!!

I’m expecting thunder tonight, my dog will be a nervous wreck !

We were forecast a storm for tomorrow (Edinburgh) but they seem to have changed their minds now. It’ll be cooler than today but still dry and sunny.

Rain on Friday, potentially.

We really need one. We've had a spot of rain but not enough.

We had a really heavy downpour ...for about 2 minutes at midnight on Sunday night! (East of England)

So are we and we have, on the BBC site under warnings. Yellow warning from 1pm-9pm.

I hope so, about 4pm we had a small rumble of thunder and about 130 drops of rain and that was it. Wind has got up though and sky cloudy. Still very warm.

Cat went into the kitchen cupboard but has come out now as he's terrified of thunder.

I'm in the south West. We were forecast thunderstorms this afternoon but in the end it was just fairly gentle rain.

Maybe there will be lightning, but I imagine it might be quite localised?

Possibly, but in the south the cold front is largely passing without any impact. Barely even any rain from it. There is a met office weather warning for the NE, but even there, the chance is low.

Not according to the weather sites. We're in Edinburgh and although one was forecast it seems to have disappeared thankfully, with cooler weather coming in.
