Snow watch!

I know it will seem quite crackers to start this when the weekend has been so lovely, but we are starting to get some model consistency on GFS for the potential for snow Friday night into Saturday as a northerly plunge looks set to take place.

Primary risk areas are obviously for hillier parts of Scotland and also Wales, but higher ground in the south and south east including over dartmoor and down the east coast may also see some sleet or wet snow.

Agreed. We've had heavy snow for 2 hours now, and yet on the snow radar is shows as rain. The forecast snow at 5pm hasn't even reached us.

Met office now says no snow at all for us.

Heavy-ish snow here (Hertfordshire) but probably to wet on the ground to settle properly. Grass is getting quite snowy though.

Looking at the netweather radar, places to the west of London/towards Swindon, looks like they might get a load of snow out of this if the temperatures are cold enough.

Although this is the one evening (day) I need the car so if it can hold off doing anything interesting until after 19:00 I'll be relieved.

Only drizzle in Leicestershire, very grey and cold though so am hopeful we get some nice fluffy snow 🙏🏻❄️☃️

I think none of the forecasts got this right. (For us)
Looking at photos across my area there’s some heavy snow that has settled causing some treacherous conditions and already accidents. We weren’t even forecast snow until 4-5 and that was just sleet/rain. It started at 2.30 and hasnt stopped! Big/heavy flakes.

Oxford city here. Lots of snow this afternoon that has settled, and it is now bitterly cold!

I feel like everyone's got snow except us! South West Surrey

I am supposed to be driving to babysit around 20 minutes away at 6.30...I just can't decide whether to cancel or not! Village quite near Reading and it seems to be worse every time I look outside!

Nothing but boring, cold rain here (SE London). Oh well, at least it was sunny for most of the day.

Just had about 10 mins of big snowflakes in West Mids!

We’ve got a good inch and a half here now in S. Bucks. My iPhone weather app (flipping useless) said it would turn to rain at 5, it’s big, heavy snowflakes still. It’s been snowing non stop here since 2.30!!
