OYBBK please, please, please tell me it's not going to stay winter all year?!

Hanging off a rock in the inner hebrides and today we have gales and hail. Our poor lambs are huddled in corners, the grass won't grow, cows and sheep in misery and our poor piglets haven't even been outdoors yet!
Never mind that the heating is still on, we still need to light the fire most days as it feels so 'wintery'!
I know farmers are known for complaining about the weather but surely it must warm up sometime?

Heating on low here, tortoise briefly came out of his house and then went back in again, unimpressed!

Sun came out at 5pm here. Has been 14 degrees highest today. Not put heating on despite room thermostat displaying only 19 degrees. Do still have thermal underwear and fleece trousers on plus thick cardigan.

Drat! Forecast was right, and I had to put the heating back on this morning as only 17 degrees in my warmest sitting room.
However, sun is shining atm but lots of clouds around so not sure for how long.
Had +6 out last night. Got up to 21 in sitting room in an hour < with the help of the lovely sunshine streaming in >. Smile

11.2 c here (Leicester) with a cold wind ~ am Shock that we're barely getting into double figures! Not as cold though as it has been in Scotland, where there are roads closed because of snow ~ double Shock!
No surprise really that it has been the coldest spring since 1979.

Daffodils still out round here. Normally they have gone by the end of April at latest. Clematis hasn't even flowered yet. Usually finished by now.

Just been hailing. Took dd to school this morning in 6 degrees. Both in thick winter coats.

We've got a hailstorm as well. In the last 7-8 minutes, the temperature's gone from 7.1 to 5.6c ~ 5.6c in daytime May Shock Be interesting to see how low it'll go.

5.1c was the lowest it got and and the sun's come out and we're back up to 7.8c now. Dark thundery clouds are looming to the west again though so don't think it's the last of the hailstorms/thundery showers for today.

We're a bit north of Norwich but usually come under its urban effect, it was 6ºc this morning on the way to work.

Hail alternating with sun (but cool) and now heavy rain.

Feeling fed up with this spring, but heavily pg so can also feel the benefits. Few years ago it was baking hot as I stood in my wedding dress without a cloud in the sky. Sigh.

The sky appears to be clearing Hmm. Had +5 degrees last night and heating on againAngry. I am in total dispair.!

We did have short sharp showers yesterday, but also sunshine - but that icy wind was nasty. Sky clouded over againSad

Just been out for dog walk with sunshining and after 5 minutes it was raining. Little dog enjoyed herself, if not me < grumpy face, but sooo pleased to be back indoors in the warmth> Smile
