Some potential for some really good beefy thunderstorms to develop over the next few days. Most likely place today I think is through the Midlands, but dont rule them out else where.

Worcestershire here. I would love a thunderstorm, can you put my name down OYBBK? Smile

TheMonster · 28/05/2012 07:53

Oh we need a good storm to clear the air. And to refill the water butt.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/05/2012 08:05

will do sparkling. Have booked one in for myself too! (sadly not so likely to happen for me - Id love a gigantic one)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 28/05/2012 08:10

Ooh I'm Brummish. I'd love one - do you think the gods will be kind?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/05/2012 08:10

possibly chaos, though I think the risk is more east of you.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/05/2012 08:12

look at 15 here
cape is one of the measures for the potential for thunderstorms. Look for the coloured bits! I can 'splain more later if anyone is interested.

Signing in for a 'thunderstorm watch' here in Leicester.

ChickensHaveNoLips · 28/05/2012 10:25

I'd love a decent storm. South derbyshire/staffs border here.

McKayz · 28/05/2012 10:27

Please can we have one in North Yorkshire? I can't cope with this heat anymore!

GloriaSmud · 28/05/2012 10:28

Just adding as well the met office weather warning for London/South East, for the possibility of thunderstorms late afternoon/evening for today.

Chaotica · 28/05/2012 10:31

Have washing out. Will therefore keep a lookout in Northants. (Not that I wouldn't notice anyway.)

Must get water butt actually linked to guttering...

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/05/2012 14:09

The warnings arent quite where I was expecting them!

OP posts:
mumpleasemayi · 28/05/2012 15:31

Thundering here in North Herts. :)

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/05/2012 15:36

cool :)

OP posts:
Derklugehans · 28/05/2012 15:38

Does this mean migraines are more likely for migraineurs, please?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 28/05/2012 15:40

I'm afraid that is beyond my knowledge level! I hope you dont get one.

OP posts:
lubeybooby · 28/05/2012 15:51

Another of the usual interesting weather suspects signing in. SW Leicestershire, oh please please I really want a storm. I adore them.

BiddyPop · 28/05/2012 15:55

I'm hoping for some action on the other side of the Irish sea - especially as, in anticipation of promised rain, I emptied the last bit from the rain butt last night onto flower beds so that I could chuck out the ucky bits at the bottom (mucky stuff, few worms etc) rather than just leaving the couple of inches below the tap.

So in return for me getting covered in MUCK, I am relying on the notoriously unreliable Met Eireann to come through for me!! Grin

usualsuspect · 28/05/2012 15:59

Just started raining big spots of rain here in Leicester , so could be a storm

usualsuspect · 28/05/2012 16:30

Shinyshoes1 · 28/05/2012 16:32

I've had thunder since 3.30m. A really loud one just now literally shook the windows and set off car alarms Shock

No rain though

Shinyshoes1 · 28/05/2012 16:32

headfairy · 28/05/2012 16:35

usualsuspect last week when we had all those squally showers at one point dd and I were standing at one end of my road in bright sunshine and watching it bucket down at the other end of the road. Totally confused the crap out of her (in her defence, she's 2) :o

No rain here yet (West London) but a very heavy sky.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 28/05/2012 16:37

Would welcome rain here, a storm would be grand! West Sussex please, make it a biggun looks at blue skies and sun and cries

amillionyears · 28/05/2012 16:37

I know someone whose house has got hit twice by lightening. Not saying who as may out myself. It can stay away from me.
The house seems to be on some sort of regular storm path.Other places have been hit in the area in the past.
Perhaps you happy storm watchers can tell me if there is likely to be some truth in that please.
