DT1 has a school trip today - walking round a model village and the rain is torrential :(

Fimbo · 25/04/2012 09:58

Apparently it needs to chuck it down like this continously until the end of the year for the hosepipe ban to be lifted. I am seriously fed up of all the bloody rain.

youarekidding · 25/04/2012 10:02

Another here on the South Coast. We are weather warnings today but looking at forecast the gale winds and heavy rain are here for the next 6 days. Then it just forecasts rain. Oh and theres thunder thrown in there as well!

Did anyone here the thunder last night?

youarekidding · 25/04/2012 10:03

*hear Blush

Ponders · 25/04/2012 10:06

\link{http://www.raintoday.co.uk/\Have a look at Raintoday} - it isn't absolutely everywhere, & it is moving, so there are breaks if you're in the right place Smile

Declaring a hosepipe ban was clearly the right thing to do Grin

Heavensmells · 25/04/2012 10:12

It's been raining here in Manchester for weeks!

pepperrabbit · 25/04/2012 10:22

It's shocking here. NE Hampshire. I've had to change every item of clothing I wore for the school run, carry children across flooded paths and I couldn't actually see for most of it cos my glasses were so wet.
I've set up a "drought station" in the kitchen to specifically dry all the wet clothes each day Hmm Don't think my jeans will have dried by the time I collect DD at lunchtime - I'm seriously considering getting some waterproof trousers to go with my sou'wester and wellies...

Tortoise · 25/04/2012 11:10

My DD1 forgot her lunch box so I've had to go back out in it, drenched again. That's about 4 miles of walking in the rain already today.

JustFab · 25/04/2012 11:11

It has not stopped raining for hours and it must be bad as my cat wasn't waiting for me when I got home but was playing dead in her bed. She scared me. I have punished her with some prawns ConfusedGrin.

JustFab · 25/04/2012 11:11

I mean I have given her some. I haven't hit with them or anything!

youarekidding · 25/04/2012 11:15

OMG We have just started having the most amazing hailstorm Grin

pepper I have waterproof trousers! Unfortunately it seems not waterproof trainers! I have wellies, I have boots, sadly I also have a torn ligament in my foot and can't get them on. The crutches are also slowing me down!

JustFab · 25/04/2012 11:16

DD has outdoor PE today and she has to wear a skort Sad.

Chopstheduck · 25/04/2012 11:20

Grin at the mental image I got of cat being beaten by huge langoustines!

I can remember PE in stupid short clothes, and the rain stinging my legs. I'm sure it will be character building Wink

pepperrabbit · 25/04/2012 11:21

youarekidding crutches! Shock in this! You poor thing.
Have abandoned all plans to go to the shops and get useful stuff like food, and am dying my hair.
I'll be here for the next 30 minutes "developing" Grin and eating biscuits

JustFab · 25/04/2012 11:33

I was going to say sorry for upsetting you, Chops when I saw your post on TIO but having read your whole post all I can do is post Grin.

GloriaSmud · 25/04/2012 11:36

Well, this is the oddest drought I've ever come across ~ oh the irony of this headline!
The grass in my back garden makes a squelchy noise when I walk on it and we seem to be gaining a 2nd pond!

pepperrabbit · 25/04/2012 11:40

I have several new "water features" in my back garden and a lovely view of next doors as well where half the fence has blown down...

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 25/04/2012 12:59

Have looked at gfs charts out til 11 th may and decided I'm emigrating. Although there are individual days where it doesn't look so bad, the overall picture is one of unsettled sogginess.

SadSad

That is not what I wanted to hear, you most certainly ARE a badkitten today!

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 25/04/2012 13:00

Heavensmells that is about par for the course though isn't it Grin

OP posts:
Chubfuddler · 25/04/2012 13:02

Sun is out here Grin

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 25/04/2012 13:02

Sorry chops.
I want to weep whenever I look at the charts.

On foot today too. Lots more squelchy walking. Am going to get trench foot I think as I'm running out of dry warm shoes.
