You can tell DH is not here tonight, I'm glues to the Katla cam. Blush

Looks like another area of potential geothermal activity on the camera, more quakes too.

GloriaSmud · 21/07/2011 22:23

One of the posters on the blog mentions that the quakes north of Katla sometimes happen just before Hekla erupts. Hope that both don't go together!

Still keeping an eye on this!
Someone on the Icelandic volcano blog posted this today.
They're also keeping an eye on Hekla as well, where there have been 2 quakes over the last 2 days (normally there aren't any, except for just before an eruption.)

oooo looks like the sE crater. Grin How fantastic!!

It has been getting ready to do some decent stuff for months

mummylin2495 · 30/07/2011 22:19

Thanks for those wonderful clips from Etna,i dont follow Volcanos or anything but i do love looking at them,i have always loved watching the lava rolling down.I dont wish anyone to be harmed from them ,but i think they are spectacular.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/07/2011 22:28

mummylin, the SE crater is a decent way from houses and the type of eruption means we can pretty much enjoy it without worry or guilt.

very cool pictures taken recently. Just to think that when we were there earlier this year (right there!!) we could walk on fresh lava flow.

mummylin2495 · 30/07/2011 22:46

Wonderful pictures.I cant imagine actually being there to witness something so fabulous. I like all the freaky kinds of nature such as masive hail storms ,tornados and such like,i very often watch the storm chasers in the USA. Anyway thanks for the pics ,i will leave you to converse with people who actually know what they are talking about,i expect i will be chatting to you in a few months when i am distraught that my town may miss out on the snow !! Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 31/07/2011 08:36

mummylin - you are always very welcome here. We arent an exclusive club by any means, we are all learning as we go (me especially!) I like freaky nature too :0

OhYouBadBadKitten · 31/07/2011 08:36

doh that was supposed to be a :)

mankyscotslass · 31/07/2011 09:35

mummylin, I'm no expert, and I have loads to learn!

I usually get loads of stuff wrong. I just love nature in all it's glory. I find it fascinating!

Please stay, everyone is welcome! Grin

mummylin2495 · 31/07/2011 21:40

Very nice of you both but i really dont know a thing about volcanos etc ,just that i like looking at them ! In fact i dont know anything much about any kind of meteorological things !! But i may pop in now and then to see if you have posted anymore great pics.

GloriaSmud · 06/08/2011 17:00
