I am a Pom, and joined the Mumsnet po go threads before I moved to Australia. So that’s why I have lots of UK friends. Stonjourner was released after I moved, so still need him!!

I merely select them on the order I come to them.

I've just been caught out by the friendship hearts bug again. Both of us were supposedly 1 interaction off besties with a particular player and I was one off FF with someone else so we popped an egg to share through party play.

Opened a gift and nothing happened. Went to check and it was now 7 hearts off. I think the same thing happened at great friends. We both added this player through the weekly challenge.

And my new FF Doesn't have any pokemon tagged for trading. They travel all over the world so must have something interesting.

Honestly, what I am enjoying most about the trades is seeing what people have tagged. It's like getting a tiny glimpse into their collection of Pokémon. Plus of course I love all the new ones I have received from them.

I’ve just added her on my new alt account. That has a low enough number of friends I can manage daily gifts!

As an update, the game decided, today, that we were besties, after all. Not a full week after it fooled me.

Obviously not at the same time that it decided that LL and I had completed another cycle of FF, even though we looked to be a couple of weeks off, yesterday.

Basically, if you're short of lucky eggs, don't trust the hearts of anyone you've completed a weekly challenge with, as the game isn't correctly keeping track of the 7 friendship points you gain.

Thanks for the warning! I can't remember your MN name but one of you traded me a Hawlucha. I was really happy just to have one at all, but I checked to see if I had any recent perfect ones and that Hawlucha was one. So thank you so much for the perfect Hawlucha!

This morning, we're 3 friendship points short of besties, again 🙄

I also do wish they'd fix the friends list sorting. I try and alternate low hearts to high to make sure I get everyone a gift regularly.

I did see a fix where you scroll down until it looks like it is loading, then change the sort order a few times. That usually fixes it, but not always.

Like everything else, the entire implementation seems to be a bodge job, @Wurz

also reached level 70 and am on the slow slog through all the level up tasks.
So I can prepare for level up tasks coming up, does anyone have any advice? On things to stock up, which medals to target etc?

The best way to target medals is to check your progress. Evolving pokemon adds to your xxl and xxs medals, so they're good to work on, as does trading xxs and xxs pokemon, if you have someone to do that with.

You can check what tasks you have in future levels by clicking the dots. I'm level 75 working on 76 but can see what's in store at level 76.

Those 7 pokemon to fully power up might seem a long way off but you need to do 3 more for level 73 so work on getting as many pokemon as possible to level 49 before you need them. Starter pokemon are a good bet for that, as is machamp. Any useful community day pokemon. Maybe not that pig but Deino common day classic is coming up and hydreigon is a useful dark type so worth powering up to 49, for now! Don't forget to have a dark or dragon type mega evolved for that event for extra candy and candy xl. Loudred is level 41 and has a loudred ready to max out - when I can be arsed to do 7 days of routes again.

@PickAChew oooh some awesome tips there. I normally transfer XXS pokemon because there are never showcases for smallest. But never considered the medal. I will evolve them all in future!!

@PickAChew I agree with pottypotamus. Those are very helpful tips. I didn't know about the xxs ones. I have been keeping them but knowing to evolve them is great.

When is the deino community day? It's good for a few things I am working on so would like to be prepared!

I think I might be alone in really liking routes. I walk a lot, so very happy to be given xp and stardust just for doing that!

Definitely keep looking ahead with the level challenges. After I'd fully powered up 3 (?) pokemon for the old 40-50 challenges I finished several before realising I'd need to do another 3... and then another 7 for 70-80... Means I will probably have to waste all my stardust powering up a Parasect as that's the only thing I'll have enough xl candy to complete by then. 🫠

Dex filler, though it doesn't even do that. I do have an ordinary one (Hundo) powered up to 40 as I used to troll gyms I wasn't fussed about staying in with that and a level 40 Hundo spinda.

@VeryNearlyLegendary I like routes too. I just forget to do them. But I am currently trying to maximise my stardust before a bunch of levelling tasks so I need to remember.

Have you considered doing Melmetal for the levelling up? If you do mystery boxes and catch Meltan for an hour, they give you several candy XL every time you catch one, it's easy to rack up the candy XL enough to max them out. At least they're kind of useful as mons.

I have already levelled a Melmetal all the way up, so doing that again is an option, but feels a bit wasteful of stardust too. At this stage it'll probably win based on the fact it's not a Parasect, but I'm still several million xp away from starting that challenge, so maybe I'll have more options by the time I've got that far!

Has everyone picked a path on the new research?

Yes I wasn't sure which path to pick but went for raids in the end.

I just went for throwing. Instant XP boost while I sit on my sofa. Often that's the best bit of an actual event.
